- We celebrate May 5th as Boys' Day in Japan, and display a decoration called 'koinobori' (carp streamer) for the day either outdoors on a flag pole or indoors in the drawing room. The indoor koinobori is a miniature of the outdoor type.
A koinobori is a set of streamers in the shape of carps in different colors and sizes. The carps are a symbols of a family.

where can I get some of these awesome flags like these?? Imports to US are all the same nad very generic. SOURCES? these look so cool. Can you nuy blanks to DIY?

@@meachan7 HI! yeah I've been to many, many websites--many are "sold out" but haven't seen anything beyond the pretty generic designs. Would also appreciate closeups on the yoke setup--can't get mine to stay untangled. I have them on fishing swivels but they still wrap themselves around the fishing rods.
@@meachan7 I found a company that sells paint-your-own but they are one sided. But also found a brilliant DIY (no subs but self explanatory filming). You need a serger, & an embroidery hoop, or use good old blanket stitch to hand sew edges with HD tailors thread. Shock cord and HD swivel and hang off an old beater surf rod.
