I think he was trying to give him a more relaxing vibe instead of Hyunjin doing it again or give him time to think as if it was a test. Iván is a nice person and if he made Hyunjin uncomfortable wasn't on purpose (though since this is kinda edited we can't actually tell if he was uncomfortable)

What I love about non English speaking interviewers is that they clearly understand if the person they’re interviewing isn’t fluent in English. Bc like the interviewer clearly doesn’t speak English as a first language so he gets how Hyunjin feels about speaking a language that both of them aren’t fluent in

You know, I think it’s so brave of him to try to speak English even with how anxious he got, he still tried to say it in English. I think that this shows just how great his character is. Im so proud of him for being so determined to speak in english even though he was told he could say it in korean if he wanted to. His english has gotten so good. S/o to the interviewer for trying to make him feel comfortable and not laughing at him for being nervous or his english.
