I've had 5 miscarriages with no successful pregnancies, and I struggle feeling overlooked and forgotten every Mother's Day. Simply acknowledging your friend(s) that day will speak volumes. The messages that mean the most to me are a simple "Happy Mother's Day" even though my babies are in heaven. Some precious friends send cards every year. Once, someone sent me Mother's Day flowers. That meant the world to me.
It's easy to avoid the topic because you know it causes pain, but I guarantee your friend is already hurting, and avoiding the topic doesn't change that. Instead, it's reminders that someone supports you in the midst of that pain that become lifelines. They're priceless.
Thank you for acknowledging us, Sophie. Sincerely. ❤

You have me tearing up, truly. I cannot imagine your pain. I am so incredibly sorry for the journey you went through and your losses. And I am so glad you have had some friends who acknowledge that you are still a mother 💗. Such a wonderful point that avoidance feels easier but you're right, I know she is already hurting. Thank you so much for sharing your journey and thoughts.

as someone who has a difficult time with Mother's Day being there for your friend and giving them a beautiful selfcare gift and letting them know you are there for them is most appreciated. your friend will love you being there for them. let them know you're there if they need anything and they aren't alone on their journey. ❤

It's sweet to think of your friend. Flowers are always thoughtful. Maybe send or give them privately just with a non specific note. I hope you have a happy Mother's Day.

    Happy Mother’s Day!🌸
Yes, always wash new clothes before wearing…you don’t know where they’ve been, or who’s touched them before purchasing.

Thanks for mentioning that Mother's Day is hard for some people. My advice for you to support your friend is just to tell her you know this is a tough day for her, and you love her. And if she's an important person to your kiddos, tell her that too. ❤️

I usually don't wash new clothes when I get them from the store. I do wash them when I get them secondhand, just to be sure. But sometimes new clothes from the store also smell funny or weird so then I also wash them first. It really depends. But I know my mom always washes new clothes she gets instantly, on the same day that she bought them.

So interesting how everyone does it differently! I totally know what you are talking about how sometimes they have a funny smell from the store!

Sophie, As someone who had a miscarriage & was never able to get "P" again, I feel it's important to still celebrate that day. I think it would be sweet to do something for your friend to let her know that you are thinking about her during this difficult time. I always wash clothes before wearing them. You never know who touched the clothes or tried them on before you purchased them. 😊

Thank you so much for sharing and I'm so sorry you had to go through that. I agree with you that it still should be celebrated. 💗

Always wash clothing before wearing bc those bolts of fabric come in contact with lots of things while waiting to be sewn. They are stored in warehouses, then stored in the sewing factories, etc.

My daughter is finally pregnant after years via in vitro. It has been so hard. She got married at 29 and thought she had a few years. I lost my husband and had to finish raising my kids on my own. At 65, I have seen so much. Just let your friends know that if they want children, they should never lose hope. I have seen children adopted. My stepson lost his mom and dad both, and I turned out spending 40 years so far with him when they only got about 25. Who could have ever guessed I would be the only parent to the boy I met when he was 10. I surely am as close to my great niece as I am to my own grandchildren. I became her personal nanny when she was born at 25 weeks during Covid, and the doctors did not want her to go to daycare. I drove 100 miles to my sister's house on Sunday evening and came home to my husband on Friday night for a year. There are so many children that are likely to come into your life as life goes on. And always remember that love is love.

Always always wash my clothes before wearing. My son worked for a warehouse for clothing, and he told me what those clothes are packed in. It’s not what you want next to your skin or your child’s skin.

My relative has lost her only child..... Now she dreads mother and fathers day. They say they are not parents anymore....
