I'm an old white guy who grew up in that era loving all the R & B releases . Michael Henderson absolutely kills it on You Are My Starship which is in my top 5 of all time favorite R & B songs. And of course the music is great with that awesome bass line.. I think Kenny Lattimore did the song good justice too.
I happen to be a brown skinned woman if a certain age….nobody beats LTD🔥 and been in the backseat of my mother’s 70 Impala with Cruisin’ on many times. Much love ❤️

That album picture was the r&b group called the Stylistics and not LTD. The song playing is LTD with Jeffrey Osborne on lead. This song was very popular at parties where everybody got up and slow-danced.

yes , that is Jefferey Osborn. He left after 2 or 3 albums. L.T.D. was a really a full band with horns and stuff. Don't understood why it looks like a vocal group in the photo. They had some good hits , but weren't the same after Osborn left .

Love this song, and YES it's Jeffrey Osborne, who was the lead singer of the group before he went solo. There is a great cover done by George Benson, and he does it with a faster beat. Both are classics. Someone mentioned it, and I also noticed that the album cover is not LTD, it's the Stylistics.
