To be fair, for endgame stuff, you technically only need ore. Crapton of ore. Here's why: Stone and wood farming can be done anywhere due to buildable structures. Stone can be crushed down to paldium, wood can be burned into charcoal, so you will have access to pal metal ingots (paldium + ore) and carbon fiber (charcoal based) as well, wherever you are. With a ton of ore, you can also craft a ton of nails. Nails can be sold to merchants for exorbitant amounts of gold. And ammo can be bought from such merchants as well. Just catch the ones from the desert village. Heck, some merchants can also sell high quality pal oil, al the organs, leather, bones, whatever you may want except for pal fluids. With the ore to nails trick, and the above combinations, you can literally get anything you may need in endgame products. If you need refined metalingots for something, which for some reason can't be crafted using charcoal, only normal coal, only than will you require a coal farm. But considering that refned metal stuff is required on the path of progression, it's rather handy to have access to even before reaching the pal metal stage, and even after that, you can turn coal into carbon fiber, so having that first ore + coal minng base should be enough for anything that's not specifically for breeding. That said, there are a few slight issues regarding breeding bases that you should all pay attention to. I for one, wanted to make a breeding base above a mining area for quartz. I know that quartz isn't a material you need a lot of in the game, but I really liked that spot, and it also had a ton of quartz nodes. So I tried (and managed) to place foundations between and around them so I can build a full on platform above the nodes, hoping I can build whatever i want on top of them. I was so wrong. For some reason, I was unable to place breeders on the layers above them. I somehow managed to find a spot where I could place at least a ranch, but not a breeder. So if you want a really effective breeding base, you might want to get rid of nodes in the area. If you want to build on top of them, they can cause issues. Edit: alternatively, I'm not sure if breaking the nodes, building the breeder, that having the ores respawn would work. I might have to check that out. After all, the breeders only complained that there are spots where it's not supported (meaning it has no foundations underneath), and not about overlapping with other structures, so breaking the nodes, putting some temporary foundations down, building the breeders, than removing the temporary foundations could potentially work, I'm not sure about how well. (As in, I'm not sure wether removing the foundations would break the breeder, or if the breeder would disable the respawn of the nodes.
Perfect timing, I just tore down my base at this very location last Wednesday, and haven't decided what to build there. As far as vertical space goes, I made a TWELVE STORY TALL skyscraper base just to see if I could. I didn't really try to OPERATE anything there, but nobody is really using the height available to them.

Log on and ur pals have ended up burning themselves to death Plus: Where r u going to hatch all ur eggs (WITHOUT!) cheating to insta hatch it via ingame settings so 1 egg takes about 1-2hrs? Thats why the sulfer spot in the volcano area is my breeding spot: Bottom floor is production area for the ingredients. Second and third floor contain 2 farms each (4 in total) while fourth and fifth floor hold 64 eggbreeders each (128 in total). So 1 breeding, hatching and ammunation base, 2nd base incorporates pure quarts farming anubis as well as 1 floor of additional breeding as well as a dedicated egg room. Third base is same as shown: Coal/Ore spot with all the crafting layout plus even an additional option for a breeding/egg hatching floor if needed 💪
tip for a breeding base. You have your main mining base that will give you way too much ore, more then you ever need in fact. so what you do it max make ignots (just once) and craft those ignots into nails. that will sell for 1.3 million. than you use the merchant at the small settlement to buy everything you need (berries, wheat, milk and eggs.) the only thing you can't buy is honey, so only use the honey pall at your breeding base to get a mass amount of honey and just buy everything else. if you ever need money, repeat the nail making process and you will never have to farm anything but honey. You don't need a 3 long wide staircase. just make sure that the top of the staircase has 3 slots clear over the staircase and any pall will go up and down freely. I also build 3 tiles up in Height. i have a 6 floor base set up with a single staircase (one staircase per floor, not a single staircase) that goes into everything id ever need and that i can freely expand by building up at any time.
Just tossing out as 3rd option for a base that also provides some cool views is a quartz mining base. It you head north from the tower boss in the snow area you will come across a skill fruit tree in some ruins. There is also quite a few quartz in close quarters here. A side bonus is the nearby dungeon as well. The area isn’t all that flat but with a little creativity you can build some really cool stuff here that blends into the ruins. There is another quartz area up north that is pretty decent as well but the area is very bland
There is a spot on the southwest corner of Ice Wind Island that you can set up a base that has two differing temperature zones, with end slightly cold and the other end moderate in temperature. Using just campfires that never go out on their own, you can set up incubators strategically so you can literally hatch any egg at 100% efficiency. The downsides are that it's on a beach with a slight incline (so you'll want to use foundations for a truly flat surface, but you'll probably be doing that anyway) and that it's a wide open beach, so it's not raid proof.
There is a camp to the east of that plato coal-metal spot. Put first base at plato, than clear camp, some time later it will dissapear, leaving ideal flat terrain for base. There will be no raids(seems like some bug) and also, both your bases are in proximity to each other, so workers will always work at both bases. I made industrial-production base at plato, farm-breeding at camp site.
Its a shame we dont have a lot of freedom on how to build our bases. Everytime i turn around they are getting stuck and basically give up on life when i dont pull them in and out of the pall box
Just discovered qol mods and it makes the game even more great. I only use mods on a solo world and only one just to avoid giving myself any sort of advantage but there's one that expands your bases build size as well as building in general. I don't recommend game breaking ones but I do recommend qol ones and show the developer for notes on how to improve the game even more :)
I made a base on that giant circle with 4 chests on the ice island. It's pretty great since it's so flat and there's nothing there to bother you so you have a blank canvas to build anything you want.
My only suggestion on this video is showing people how to build those edge stone buildings in realtion to the pal bases. It would make things a bit better for some players....and perfectionists.
i got the iron/coal base, another Iron base and one that is for all breeding needs. Since the lategame bars only need iron ore (lots) and those blue ball gems having two places to gather iron from is a must have imo. And if you are swimming in iron bars then you are also swimming in gold, since nails are way too expensive. The only resource that is not really buyable with that is pal fluid, but thats a problem Orserk fixed really fast for me.
The issue with vertical builds is pal pathing. They can get stuck just as easily as breathing so if you build your base too complex you just make it easier for them to get stuck
Anti stuck measures: Build stairs enclosed by walls on sides and under. This prevents flying pals getting stuck under stairs. Build a box inside circle area as this will prevent pals leaving the area and get stuck.
Vertical building has been hard for me, mostly because the Pals tend to get stuck or other bugs. That said. I'll try your 3x3 method with the stairs and the roofs and see if it works.
Well, technically speaking, the pals don't leave the breeding pens. The bug where one or both of the pals fall through the world and you have to summon them back to your palbox to get them back into the pen.
Every time i leave my base both pals leave the breeding pens. It’s almost pointless to breed. If i want to max out one pal i have to spend almost the whole real world day in my breeding base because if i teleport out its over. I’ll come back to maybe two eggs if I’m lucky.
@danielchrysalis6554 I've gone walk about and come back to 15 eggs. Maybe you need to break the pal breeder pen down and build it again. I play on PC steam
My only problem with the verdant glen mountain base (i.e. the coal/ore mountain plateau) is that my pals never pick up the mined ore off the damn ground. Have five lv. 5 Anubus with lv. 3 transporting. They don't even look at the ore on the floor half the time. Have storage crates right next to each ore deposit, and they still don't move it. Tried Wumpo and other pals with lv 4 transporting and nobody wants to move the damn ore into the damn boxes. 100 hrs and I still haven't perfected this.
@@joshuajohnson4431 could be due to patching issues tho without seeing the base I can't say for certain. But from my own personal experience I had issues with transporting back when my bases weren't designed around the pathing of pals.
i usually use my wildcard base to help me catch/farm legendaries. Early-Level, to abuse my base pals helping me getting the legendary down. Now that i am capable of killing it myself, i use it as a nearby teleport.
There is enough room without blocking any nodes that you can have a several layer base that has 2 breeding ranches on each of the higher floors, at least 6+ in total
Did you have to customize game settings to build that breeding base? I don't think the roof pieces would be adaquately supported off of the stair pieces alone without more walls.
They just need a foundation anywhere under them (in 2 space distance I guess) and ONE connection to the ground . You don't need extra walls for anything like that. BUT it will be shattered if that connection is destroyed
I actually did the same with the mining location making it the production and main base and was looking for a good spot for a breeding base might have to use that location since there’s a skill fruit tree there too

I have main base farming and production, second base mining and third base dining. How are you handling food with this setup I didn't see anything big and I have a huge farm to feed 3 bases.
i just destroyed both my bases lastnight and was setting up new main base....... i have what i thought mostly built my new main building... but not placed anything. i glad i seen this before going further........ cause now i know to go 3 wide stairs, and higher walls for the bigger creatures. and i was wanting to utilize multi lvls the building in this game is hit or miss not huge fan of it at the moment..... 7:00 mark is great point. turn base decay off. great idea. i know i just built a base that is tad outside the bubble of trust... wasnt sure how that work with half foundation stickout out. but this will solve that issue.
I went up there and got into a fight and hit a bunch of the nodes. I had to mine every bit of it, pick it all up and discard it. Then go wait 2 days and come back and try again
I did this, put my pal box in the exact same spot. But when i take pals out of the palbox, they just stand there with a light bulb repeatedly and don't take a single step
I need to ask something, I don't know if that happen to only me or another players happens to them too. I build foundations and sometimes when I back I have seen it broke, stone and wood I don't know why!
Dunno if ITS just me but i did try to make a vertical base to get More space but i couldnt set stuff on stone roof, therefore i had to keep It to 1 floor only, peobably It was fixed alrredy then.

@@Someone-lg6di even better is a mountain peak next to vaelet boss, south of sibelyx boss with coal and iron deposit. It's also unraidable. The coal and iron output seem to be even which is a nice bonus.
Put a framework for them down first, two angled walls gives it enough to stick to, or at least a back wall. You can delete the frame safely after. Same goes for roofing.
Okay, someone help me out here. I haven't made a second base yet. Can someone explain why I would want a second base? Are the materials shared between bases?
@@Spanxsy Did you? Because once you are at the end game with full legendary gears you'd eat through your Paldium supply repairing gear and crafting rockets. Can't put a stone mine in the ore/coal base since pals will end up mining stone instead, and can't put it in breeding base since you'd then waste the already limited slots, so that leaves the 3rd base to supply stone and paldium.
I’m tired of base building. These mfs get stuck in walls, in the silo, leave the breeding pen and end up with two males eating each others cake, doing jobs I don’t want them to do etc. i have one mining base for ore/production, one for breeding and one pal box by the summer until I have 20k sulfer for rockets
how are you even still playing with the world save bug? I had to put all of my base pals into the box, destroy all viewing boxes, and not even load my mining base as doing anything there makes the world not save. I can’t even do more than 4 dungeons in a row before it breaks the damn game again. Palworld is completely unplayable without starting a new game.
I have a few things for you to try for Xbox, I was getting the "can't save" prompt every few mins at one point and started a new world .. which did the same, but with some advanced "turning it off n on again" you can get it to calm down. First up you have to break the cycle, once you have lesser fixes work ok: When the prompt comes up, press 'start' go in to options, pick sound, change the level (just by 1 is fine) ... then depending on how much it dies here, save and apply settings. At this point 95% chance the whole game will lock up ... this is expected. Force quit the game. Start back up, play until the prompt happens again, you should now be able to press the xbox button to bring up the xbox ui, and this is will interrupt the process and stop the save loop. When the UI is clear and no saving is happening, manually quit out through the usual options. Quit game, restart. You should now have broken the bug. It may pop up with the prompt occasionally afterward, but xbox home button press will fix it every time now. If it does pop up try to give it time to clear, taking actions makes the save harder or triggers another or something. The bug is still present in code, so in theory can come back. It's made worse by the world save when exploring, so if you find a dungeon while out n about, force a save before trying to go in. Doesn't fix dungeon crashes but bring number right down to 1 or 2 and makes it do-able at least ... is worse if you're on series S Once you have revealed the areas on map, it happens way way less generally.
@@PasqualItizzz on PC GP “World autosave failed” will appear in red in the text feed on the left side of the screen, and will appear again every few minutes. It’s caused by a memory leak, once a cache (your worlds save data basically) gets too big, the game can’t save anymore. The only way to fix it is to remove data from your world, ie by picking up items in bases, removing base pals, destroying built structures, selling pals in your pal box, etc. But since it’s a memory leak, the effects compound over time, until you can’t play for more than a few minutes before the cache fills up. It started for me after the most recent update. It was also around when I started getting into breeding and using viewing boxes to store excess pals for later condensing. I couldn’t be sure if the viewing boxes specifically ruined my save, if it’s the update, or related to the large number of eggs I’ve been hatching. Removing the boxes only fixed the issue for a few hours, with continued attempts at reducing load on the game having diminishing returns. My save is completely unplayable now. I will mention, I’ve never experienced the instant dungeon crash people on xbox console have reported. that seems to be limited to that version.
Thats all most Palworld creators do.. the amount of times I see these "New exploit videos" and 90% of the exploits are the same as their last video.. its insane. And this spot is clearly the only logical choice if available because its the only mining area that has equal parts coal and ore.

In my experience its the height rather than the width that matters. I have jormuntides pathing up 1 wide 3 high stairs with no issues

2 ore bases 1 coal base. Nails. Never need sulfer, eggs, milk, wheat, tomato, lettuce, high quality pal again. Gold is king.

I have issues where they won't pick up stuff unless I visit the base. They'll have ore all over the ground and seemingly been doing nothing
They will mine first then pick up so add more mining pals and if you're super late game make them mining 5 with the condenser.

I just realized you can grapple to the ceiling to move around when over weight 😂

you just only need 3 Pals to farm in each base they can produce alot of cake's and food enough for the 2 bases. I do this.
Use the spear to mine when you attack crouch right after and keep repeating it is by far the fastest

I went up there and got into a fight and hit a bunch of the nodes. I had to mine every bit of it, pick it all up and discard it. Then go wait 2 days and come back and try again

I did this, put my pal box in the exact same spot. But when i take pals out of the palbox, they just stand there with a light bulb repeatedly and don't take a single step

Dunno if ITS just me but i did try to make a vertical base to get More space but i couldnt set stuff on stone roof, therefore i had to keep It to 1 floor only, peobably It was fixed alrredy then.
You don't need food or beds in a breeding only base. Cakes in the "spoil free" breeding box is all a breeding farm needs

Stability goes infinite upward as long as u have connected foundations u can build directly upward indefinitely
Just farm nails, then sell, then buy your ammo. So much easier than farming and creating your ammo.
I just farm Tocos, 3 gunpowder per, no need for sulfur mining.

@@Someone-lg6di even better is a mountain peak next to vaelet boss, south of sibelyx boss with coal and iron deposit. It's also unraidable. The coal and iron output seem to be even which is a nice bonus.

Put a framework for them down first, two angled walls gives it enough to stick to, or at least a back wall. You can delete the frame safely after. Same goes for roofing.
Cant change pal world setting for servers... Stuck at 15 for ever.

And can transport them between bases. You can dedicate bases to certain tasks. Like farming/breeding base and then a base for ore and crafting.

You could try swapping out the stairs for slanted roof instead. That worked for me.

All that discussion of ore/coal/sulphur and yet you keep saying a base is a wildcard. Are the players supposed to mine stones and paldiums by hand?

@@Spanxsy Did you? Because once you are at the end game with full legendary gears you'd eat through your Paldium supply repairing gear and crafting rockets. Can't put a stone mine in the ore/coal base since pals will end up mining stone instead, and can't put it in breeding base since you'd then waste the already limited slots, so that leaves the 3rd base to supply stone and paldium.
How do you buuld staircases this high??
Just build wall behind the stairs so they have something to connect to the height you want it at. Then you can knock out those walls when you are done

These mfs get stuck in walls, in the silo, leave the breeding pen and end up with two males eating each others cake, doing jobs I don’t want them to do etc. i have one mining base for ore/production, one for breeding and one pal box by the summer until I have 20k sulfer for rockets

how are you even still playing with the world save bug? I had to put all of my base pals into the box, destroy all viewing boxes, and not even load my mining base as doing anything there makes the world not save. I can’t even do more than 4 dungeons in a row before it breaks the damn game again. Palworld is completely unplayable without starting a new game.
I believe that is on Xbox, not a PC issue. As far as I am aware of. I have only heard of it on Xbox being a massive problem.
I have a few things for you to try for Xbox, I was getting the "can't save" prompt every few mins at one point and started a new world .. which did the same, but with some advanced "turning it off n on again" you can get it to calm down.
First up you have to break the cycle, once you have lesser fixes work ok:
When the prompt comes up, press 'start' go in to options, pick sound, change the level (just by 1 is fine) ... then depending on how much it dies here, save and apply settings.
At this point 95% chance the whole game will lock up ... this is expected. Force quit the game.
Start back up, play until the prompt happens again, you should now be able to press the xbox button to bring up the xbox ui, and this is will interrupt the process and stop the save loop. When the UI is clear and no saving is happening, manually quit out through the usual options. Quit game, restart.
You should now have broken the bug. It may pop up with the prompt occasionally afterward, but xbox home button press will fix it every time now. If it does pop up try to give it time to clear, taking actions makes the save harder or triggers another or something.
The bug is still present in code, so in theory can come back. It's made worse by the world save when exploring, so if you find a dungeon while out n about, force a save before trying to go in. Doesn't fix dungeon crashes but bring number right down to 1 or 2 and makes it do-able at least ... is worse if you're on series S
Once you have revealed the areas on map, it happens way way less generally.

@@PasqualItizzz on PC GP “World autosave failed” will appear in red in the text feed on the left side of the screen, and will appear again every few minutes. It’s caused by a memory leak, once a cache (your worlds save data basically) gets too big, the game can’t save anymore. The only way to fix it is to remove data from your world, ie by picking up items in bases, removing base pals, destroying built structures, selling pals in your pal box, etc. But since it’s a memory leak, the effects compound over time, until you can’t play for more than a few minutes before the cache fills up. It started for me after the most recent update. It was also around when I started getting into breeding and using viewing boxes to store excess pals for later condensing. I couldn’t be sure if the viewing boxes specifically ruined my save, if it’s the update, or related to the large number of eggs I’ve been hatching. Removing the boxes only fixed the issue for a few hours, with continued attempts at reducing load on the game having diminishing returns. My save is completely unplayable now. I will mention, I’ve never experienced the instant dungeon crash people on xbox console have reported. that seems to be limited to that version.
At this point all your doing is recycling content. If there isnt more content to be had on this game just go back to something else

Thats all most Palworld creators do.. the amount of times I see these "New exploit videos" and 90% of the exploits are the same as their last video.. its insane. And this spot is clearly the only logical choice if available because its the only mining area that has equal parts coal and ore.
