First dealer you ran into was the exact kind of character and tables I avoid at shows lol to expect a minimum of 30% - 35% off of comps is wild, and he was upset about the potential of making $20? what a weirdo. every video I watch tables have no problem paying around 80% for stuff.
I mean that is the reality of thing that's why I made this video. These big youtubers have thousands of dollars to spend. I don't and most don't show how it really goes for the ones that have small time card. Thanks for the support
Then sell your own shit on ebay. Deal with the fees, shipping, charge backs, and thefts. You want to sell to dealers for the same fees you'd pay on ebay, without all the hard work and risks. HE is a weirdo ? what are YOU then ? Entitled ?
@@TalkinTruth Save your whatever you think is funny, it's not. Entitled new generation is the problem. You all have no future. Keep playing with our cards thinking you'll get somewhere. You won't. Mark it down.
Thanks for the video brother , just looking to get a pc going myself and out stocking what you already have can be tough , thanks for the informative video on what interactions are like with people at these shows for someone that's new
This is why I left collecting. These dealers/hobbist want to make 100% profit. Will give you 50% of book value then sell it at book price. They don't even trade anymore
I don't think it is a reason to leave the hobby but it can definitely come out kind of aggressive which I believe it is not necessary when talking to other people. Thank you for watching hopefully I can bring even more content that is more relevant to the common people
It's always these whiners like the first dealer that are complaining about not getting 100% return on a flip. I can't wait for that breed of dealer to just retire and walk away from the hobby. Cry me a river. I grew up around hustlers... pennie$ make cent$ and cent$ make dollar$. A 12% return puts money in your pocket and a slab in your inventory. Keep grindin' fam.
I've heard that same saying when I was 12 years old and haven't forgotten it. Thanks for watching. Hopefully we can get to the point where we buying $1000 dollar cards. Join the journey and see when we do
Thanks! You don't really see people posting these kind of videos because most of the people have a lot of money to spend or came from money. I do not have that kind of money yet but when I do y'all saw it first hand before I had it
The dude with those Wemby autos…. Him comparing Wemby to MJ wasn’t the most out of pocket part. He compared Topps unlicensed to EXQUISITE. Thats like comparing a Honda Civic to a Ferrari 😂
Honda civic to a Ferrari is kind of crazy 😂 but I see what you are saying. That card was clean though maybe once I get start getting paid up here I can buy one of those cards. Thanks for the support keep up with the journey
Not hating but I avoid old dudes, they love their museum cards and low ball the crap out of anything good you have. Go to the young cats, they have more avenue and hustle to get rid of those cards and are more than willing to pay 80 percent and up. Great video. Way to show the real side of card hobbies.
what world do you and they live in ? where is the profit ? typical young lazy entitled F's who want ebay returns, no risks, and the buyer to make no money. Todays hobby.
@@landj8 was not referring to you about paying for over comps, but since we are on the topic, how do cards go UP in value ? By never paying for more than the last one sold ??? Or it should only go up AFTER YOU buy it. I guess I am older now, and if you are lucky, money comes with it to buy pretty much whatever you want ... if YOU ever get that lucky.
You just have to do it! Don't care what any one else has to say. You would probably here things too but who cares what anyone says. Just have fun doing. Thanks for watching
I find it’s hard to make deals unless you’re buying a few cards from a dealer . Dealers sell at full eBay comps and throw the not paying taxes in you’re face like they are doing you a favor as you’re saving them like 15% in fees . That’s what get me comps at $100 if I pay you $90 you’re actually getting more but sure act like I’m trying to low ball
This is a hobby and business at the end of the day do what works for you, right? I'm not hating I've been the dealer before you have to pay travel, table, lunch, and other thing that people are trying to sell. You are also sitting other products that you have in inventory. Paying at 90% is tough too as a dealer. Again I'm not hating or upset however someone else that views it might not be the way I view it.
It can be tough. I'm going to be a dealer again soon but I don't plan to cut people to 70% or even 65% I just don't find that fair to young bucks in the hobby
You should really go off what sport you enjoy. Basketball is Optic, Baseball Topps, Football Prizm is nice, and I don't know much about hockey but these are the few. There are more out there like hobby boxes but I would stay inside your budget. Thanks for checking me out
His mistake was he forgot to be nice. Easier to just say thanx but at 40 I just can't as I don't have a quick sell and if I sell on ebay the fees kill me. What else can you offer me? Like in Roadhouse, just be nice! I never get made at an offer but do laugh at lowballs and knuckleheads.
First guy should have just passed with no attitude. But if a card sells for $50 on ebay, he'd probably have to price it at $40 to move it in Hickory (much smaller market, and, yeah I've been to that show many times). More likely, he'd have to move it on ebay and only make a few bucks IF the value doesn't go down. With that said, you can occasionally find guys to take deals like that and there's no harm in asking.
That's what wanted to show its okay to say no and move on. I'm not hating on the dude he's making a living and enjoying the hobby. Just some young collectors getting into the game might get intimidated and just sell it for a loss. Sometimes its okay and hold someone will buy it
Bottom line is this isn't a hobby anymore like it used to be in the old days. First table clarified that 💯. Most everybody is this "hobby" is all sbout the money and setting a horrible example for the next generation, it should slsays be about the kids 🙏
From someone from the old days!!! It has always had people that want to buy for 50% because that's human nature. Just watch pawn stars. If it is a good card and sells well 70-90% is fair. A collection of stuff I need to package and display and take years to sell 50% and don't want it.
I'm barber as well I just got bored in the shop and just wanted to try something else 😂. Thanks for watching hope you can join the journey and see if I can make a big profit this year
why don't these guys get a table ? why should they pay fees and do some work, while having skin in the game. they should get ebay type money without the work or risk while walking around, and let other dealers pay selling prices and waste THEIR time and money. Hobby crash right ahead, and soon.
Bro trust me . If you ain’t white you ain’t right. I had bad experiences selling cards when I was younger. 50% comps whilst they up charge the customer for more profit. The show reeks of sishters. Good luck at other shows. I buy strictly from eBay. I hate to sell my cards.
Best piece of advice anyone will give you is this: DON’T hold your cards!!!!! They will only go down, so get what you can and can what you get, fam!!! Just get out from under it”. He still owns it and it’s down to 900. I would still tell him to sell it today to get out from under it, but common sense doesn’t work. He thinks Kobe is going to do something to raise the value of that card………
@ I disagree. It is not like the stock market. First of all, the stock market is regulated. Cards are like the Wild, Wild West where anything goes. Secondly, the stock market goes up. Cards go down. Now if you were to say that cards are the opposite of the stock market, we could agree on that. Another difference is that cards are not an investment, unlike the stock market. Contrary to Jeff Wilson and his minions, cards are an anti-investment. Invest in Bitcoin before you invest in cardboard. This is a hobby. Not an investment. Not an industry. A hobby. Just enjoy it for what it is.
I know guys who just had to sell Jorden rookies because 1K was just toooo much. Gold was too high at 1K Oil was tooo high at 40,00 a barrel. Let the market tell you when to sell. Like stocks if it goes down 10% worth looking to sell.
