      La Petite Ophelie Dental techs schools are very far and few. I would suggest finding a local ortho lab and try to get hired. Express your passion to learn and be be patient. There's a lot to learn. If you are willing to sacrifice you will be very happy. Orthodontics is a great field of Dentistry.

    My orthodontist does the clear ones, which I find boring. Is there any possible way to request a designer hawley retainer to be made when my mold are taken when my braces come off?

    • @SzaraDentalLab
      @SzaraDentalLab  6 років тому +1

      Lauren you can show him pictures of retainers that you would like from this type of video or Instagram #retainer, Most likely they will say No that is what they offer. But it wouldn't hurt to request a standard Hawley for life long retention. good luck

    My clear plastic retainers are cracked and breaking. They look like Invisalign but I had braces first. Why didn't my orthodontist prescribe me a solid one like these that you make?

    • @SzaraDentalLab
      @SzaraDentalLab  6 років тому

      Unfortunately, some Drs. choose to only make the clear plastic ones. They are not as sturdy as a metal labial acrylic retainer. Talk to your Dr. privately and let them know how you feel about it. Clear retainers will hold your teeth correctly just not as durable for the long duration. Plan on wearing your retainers for Life....

    I don’t suppose there is a DIY way to glue the front wire together. I snapped it somehow. No recollection of how it happened, perhaps I was “growling” in my sleep. Because it snapped by my front right canine tooth. Can’t afford to run out and buy a new one as of yet. Your music is wonderful. My 17 yo son has a buddy that plays guitar, and I am going to tell him abt your music. thx

      Cathi
      Sorry to tell you there is no good way to repair that type of break. Depending on how old it is (let's say within 4 months) your Dr. will probably have a new one made at cost or for free. If its older than 6 months your probably out of luck. Thanks for spreading the music! I Greatly appreciate it

    Why are retainers so expensive then if all they are is powder and glue

    • @SzaraDentalLab
      @SzaraDentalLab  7 років тому +9

      Popular challenges By kids: Your orthodontist has to pay someone to take your impression. They also pay for Electricity, insurance, liability, water, employees etc. Someone has to actually be trained and have years of experience to make a retainer so it fits in your mouth. not to mention material involved and equipment. So your not exactly paying for just wire, powder and glue. hope this helps you understand why they cost so much.
