Crucial to that is understanding the various Network Devices which exist to accomplish that goal. In Lesson 1 we'll unpack the following devices and related concepts: Hosts, IP Addresses, Networks, Repeaters, Hubs, Bridges, Switches, Routers.
This is a two part lesson. In this video we'll explore Hosts, IP Addresses, and Networks. In the next lesson we'll explore Repeaters, Hubs, Bridges, Switches, and Routers.

*Full Course Status: Wait and See.*
Hopefully you've come to realize that I put _a lot_ of effort into the content I create. I'm not a course creator that will simply turn on the screen recording and ramble, then call that teaching. I meticulously plan _every_ module and lesson to _maximize the learning and value_ for the student.
To that end, it takes me a while to put together courses. If I'm going to dedicate the time, resources, and energy to putting this full course together, I need to know that there is enough interest in the full course. I'm rating that by how wide a reach this series achieves.
*If you are interested in seeing the full course developed, then the best way to bring that to fruition is to spread the word about this content* . By itself it already conveys _a lot_ of value. So sharing even just the 7 lessons (13 videos) in this series will surely help whoever you share it with.
Plus ... many online communities would greatly benefit from these videos. Think of all the Internet points you could acquire if you shared this series (karma, likes, follows, etc.) 😉

I love it!
is router a network host?
@@sgcatr
@@ishan1095 Yes! Well, sort of. Routers and Hosts are very similar. More details in the Router lesson: ua-cam.com/video/AzXys5kxpAM/v-deo.html
Your site says the first module is for free, what about other modules? if other modules/full course are paid, I would like to buy (i.e. in Udemy or directly from your site)
this man is a legend. he explained in short videos what my university lecturer failed to explain in 3 years
Thank you for the kind words, Isheanesu =).
Please pass on this series to your class mates, they might also benefit from watching this series!
true
Yeh you are right 😂👍
🎉he is MARVELOUS and sooo talented at dissecting these concepts!! 😊👌🏽👍🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
@Practical Networking I absolutely LOVE your videos and they help me understand soo much as a VISUAL learner. You're an absolute mensch!!👌🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
By far the simplest, clearest, neatest networking fundamentals course in UA-cam. Congratulations.
Thank you, Alberto, I appreciate the kind words =)
This is truly amazing. Thorough and at the same time simple explanations. This is a rare combination and is very much appreciated. Possibly one of the best networking basics tutorials you can find right now.
I just wanted to dropped some love on this video! Ironically I am watching it on it’s one year anniversary for the 15th time! Every time I rewatch these videos I learn something new or at least I gain a different perspective of networking. Hands down this video series is definitely one of the best on UA-cam! THANKS 🙏🏾 1000x!
Thanks for the kind words Jahuni =). It's nice to hear how much you've learned from this series. Cheers!
True, I watch for fun to see how people explain networking, as I know the ins and outs
Just keep in mind, you've done a great job with this video, going for part 2, and possibly entire channel content. Thank you!
You're welcome, Jasurbek. I'm glad you enjoyed this video. Looking forward to your thoughts on the remaining videos on the series ;)
Definitely clear info without the bells and whistles.
I just completed the Networking Fundamentals course. I'm returning to video 1 to say this was a great course and I'm happy I took the time to go through it. Great teacher. Thank you.
Thank you you so much for compiling all the lessons and sharing them. I am looking for a career change and I am new to IT. I am currently taking to the Google IT Support Certification course. It is rather a challenge for a newcomer like myself. I feel like all the videos I watch are just scripted and the "instructor" is just reading what's been put in front of him. There really isn't much of an explanation or clear and concise understanding of whats going on. Your videos have been helping me understand these concepts further, esepcially your subnetting mastery videos! My google "instructor" was awful at explaining what subnetting is. You are the best! Thank you again!
Thank you for the kind note. =). I'm glad this content has helped w/ your Google Certification journey.
Could you do me a favor? Do you mind sharing this video on Linked In, Reddit, Twitter, Facebook, or any other social media you use? As an independent creator, that would be an _enormous_ help, and I would appreciate it _greatly_ .

@@abdullahghaffar5088 Thank you =)
Bro I am also taking the google IT support for network and security certification. Small world. I'm also making a switch at 42 yrs old, lol. Good luck brother. Hope to see you in the field.
@PracticalNetworking I don't use social media, but I will definitely spread the word on your channel, subbed! Thank you for the videos. They are helping to better understand and at least get better prepared to help others in the field.
finally i found someone who explains everything so well!! i am a visual learner and this video/channel helps me so much!! Thank you so much good sir!
this guy is the best teacher of anything I've ever come across on UA-cam, if would've had him for a regular instructor in the classroom I would have been so far ahead I'm sure.
the clarity and depth of explanation here is insane. Thanks a ton
This makes things so much easier to understand and absorb
A well made up to date information on the new CCNA by a wonderful human being and a great teacher!
Thanks, Rafik! =)
Watching your video is the nearest way to cracking some networking-related interviews. I can not thank you enough.
Interviews! How are they going? Good luck! Glad this content is helping with them.
I am watching this again, like new wine, its evergreen. Thank you.
Great job! I wish I had found this resource earlier! I see everyone thanking him but the biggest thanks would be to sign up for the early course on his website in order to encourage him to complete the course or at least start releasing materials for those of us who have paid. I saw months back that he said he would start back working on the course, so I paid for it in hopes I could see the progress. I remain hopeful bc I love his teaching style!
Although I'm not a network engineer, I'm a computer engineer with more than 30 years of exposure in the field (I started early when I was 16). I wanted a refresher on networks that would start from scratch. Thank you for these videos. This was what I was looking for. Keep up the excellent work!
Yup. Dude's a Lego.
Bro I’m 16 and I’m watching this video, I want to expand my knowledge so I can be a more efficient developer
@@devonharvey8414 Congrats! Keep the curiosity rolling.
The best instructor of all time. I’m speechless. WOW..!!

I am currently taking an IT Support course and there is so much to take in at once. This really helped to simplify and give me a better understanding.
Glad you found this helpful, Darlene. Please feel free to share this with your classmates =)
I've come here after completing the whole playlist. I'm amazed by your teaching skills. You are really a great teacher. I've watched other networking videos are of awesome quality with huge number of views.

Thanks for amazing content. Going to watch all the videos of the series.
I am enrolled at WGU for Software Engineering. I know nothing about IT. Their intro to Networking and Security course work isn't the best. These videos are the only reason I understand the content. Thank you so much! Also the speed in which these video are made, are great for someone with ADHD because I can stay engaged.
The best explanation and most concise content I watched for a long time
I have gone through some of your videos and I have to admit that you are the best in explaining THIS task. I am studying for my CCNA exam. It would be great if you create a full course for CCNA. And I wish you were my teacher.
Hi again, FC, thank you for the kind words.
Every few months I toy with the idea of doing a full CCNA course. Who knows =) In the mean time, I've compiled all of my CCNA related content at this link:
