Mike it’s great to read the comments it shows that a lot of people that watch this are very interested and intelligent. I’m learning quite a bit. For an old goat at 75 😊
The variable transformer is a Variac - SELL IT! Guys who restore antique TVs and radios use them to slowly turn up the voltage to a tradio tube so it doesn't blow.
Hey Mike, thanks for entertaining us. Those Aluminum cast gears are part of power window motor. Normally the inside gears are made out of plastic and brake with time and that's when u have to buy those parts.
The item at 31:33 of the video is called a Variac. It is a popular item with anyone who collects old radio gear such as some Ham Radio Operators because it allows them to adjust the amount of voltage going to the piece of gear and they can regulate the current slowly from a little bit up to full voltage.I have one that looks just like the one you had in the video but without the meter on the side. They are a great item to have.
Imagine coming up on a dumpster , to see all the boxes moving around on their own (apparently)....... you stand there for a few seconds , then you realise.....oh ,it's just MIKE that's scrabbling around at the bottom of the skip , searching for every last bit of scrap !...Hahaaa.... ;-)
Seeing Mike down the bottom of that dumpster reminded me of when I use to do scrapping when I was younger & being short I always got the "your the smallest'' when it came to getting stuff buried at the bottom
Magandang umaga mike.masaya ako sa iyong trabaho at nakakabilib ang iyong kasipagan.lalo na pag nakakita ka ng mga bagay sa basurahan.kaya akoy natutuwa sayo.more blessing come to you and to your family god bless mike i love your video
U are really funny when you say shhh and talking in a dumpster and if someone walks pass that b absolutely funny n when you done with your spaceship I love to see it lol xx
Hi there Mike, I'm new to your UA-cam channel, I'm an experienced "skip" bin diver in Adelaide Australia, i do my work at night too, avoid bosses & employees, You're doing a great job, Keep it up, Cheers Dude 👍
I also like doing the same, its adventurous and exciting to me. Wierd but I dont care what people think at least I cleaning up our environment right cheers D
10:10 those are good in the grow room. In my part of Canada boxes are recycled and don't end up in bins like this. Makes me wonder what the bin scavenging experience would be like here.
What the heck were we thinking as kids when we’d say “I can’t wait till I get older!” Slow your horses kids, enjoy being young cause it won’t last all that long! Scrap each day to the fullest lol. ✌🏼 y’all!
31:10 That thing is worth at lot more whole, if it works, than it is as scrap. Put a cord on it and see if it works. 110-120V go in and the dial adjusts the output voltage at the plug on the front. Specialized piece of equiptment.. aka..Variac (variable a/c).
Mike you make candles for Christmas gifts, one thing that enhances any candle is to put a pine cone in it. As the pine cone burns it crackles and sounds lovely. 😊♥️🇨🇦🌈
Hi Mike, you always seem to find an abundance of Cat 5 and low voltage accessories. You should try to find a small telecom, A/V, Fire/Security contractor(s). They'd likely be interested in those items. Used to do a lot of patient monitoring systems in hospitals years ago and we used a the low voltage stuff and equipment racks and such. Don't want to name the large Corp we worked for but their directive was to toss everything not used at the end of a project. Couldn't do it, so wasteful. We'd toss stuff branded with their logo and sell everything else. Typically got 20-60 cents on the dollar and small contractors were thrilled to cut their material costs. Love the channel. Be well
Some of those circuit boards are not low grade Mike. The general rule is if they have the flat IC chips on them they are mid grade. Low grade boards have no chips on them
I love scrapping and dumpster diving videos..i.had a favorite uncle who did it! But in the crappy town we were from! People made fun of him😔 You go Mike I hope you make lotsa 💰
Lots of parts for the Mike One space shuttle. This time no crazy cats, but careful that in the dark they hide waiting for your visit in the mysterious dumpster. Ciao from Venezia.🆒🐼🆒
Mike 15:00 it's a part of toy from Little Tikes factory - it's name LITTLE TIKES TIRE TWISTER. I recognize it, beacause - I work in MGA Entertainment in Poland and make little tikes toys ;D

love your work mate..Gooday from ozzy land..A word of warning with some of those washing machine tubs and maybe a good thing for you is that some of them are filled with lead shot in the bottom and if you heat them up for a fire pit they will blow up..easy to drill a couple of holes in them to check them out though..I use one for a campfire pit and love it..
Mike it’s great to read the comments it shows that a lot of people that watch this are very interested and intelligent. I’m learning quite a bit. For an old goat at 75 😊
That is also called a reostat, Voltage can be lowered or raised as an output voltage by turning the knob on top.
Mike you are saving the planet one scrap piece at a time. Plus the useful items you manage to sell to others. Very commendable
Mike, you are a funny guy.
You make me laugh out loud!
Thank you brother ❤
Love you Mike. You and Scrap and Pallet Man are my favourite scrappers on You Tube.
Ya i wish scrap and pallet man did this
Darn Mike, You get better all the time. Best scavenger on you tube for entertainment and fun.

The variable transformer is a Variac - SELL IT! Guys who restore antique TVs and radios use them to slowly turn up the voltage to a tradio tube so it doesn't blow.
Also, any student taking electrical and electronic engineering would love to have it.
Yes that varriac costs about 150.00 for an antique and new ones. They are great variable power supplies.
The lil aluminum doodads are turbo chargers for the spaceship
Hey Mike, thanks for entertaining us. Those Aluminum cast gears are part of power window motor. Normally the inside gears are made out of plastic and brake with time and that's when u have to buy those parts.
Mike im not 100 % sure but I believe the little cast aluminum gear assembly is a power window actuator

"Watch Yo Head!"
Seeing Mike down the bottom of that dumpster reminded me of when I use to do scrapping when I was younger & being short I always got the "your the smallest'' when it came to getting stuff buried at the bottom

STONEDay It's pretty ridiculous how much stuff is thrown out down here that should be recycled! Downright embarrassing, really...
It is pretty darned awesome around Ottawa
For the canadian scrap experience check Uberism81, Thubprint and Canadian Scrapper.
they put in dedicated dumpsters and they get recycled
Real Master of Dumpster dive
" it is, what it is!" Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!
On that second dumpster is what I call dumpster diving.
Alright, alright....Hello from Brazil!🇧🇷

What the heck were we thinking as kids when we’d say “I can’t wait till I get older!” Slow your horses kids, enjoy being young cause it won’t last all that long! Scrap each day to the fullest lol. ✌🏼 y’all!
Hey Mike, so happy you retrieved the cast part for that arbor press: so cool. Hope you get a good price for that piece of heavy metal!
31:10 That thing is worth at lot more whole, if it works, than it is as scrap. Put a cord on it and see if it works. 110-120V go in and the dial adjusts the output voltage at the plug on the front. Specialized piece of equiptment.. aka..Variac (variable a/c).
They run around 150 to 300 depending on the brand and age. Us who are into fixing antique electronics
Mike you make candles for Christmas gifts, one thing that enhances any candle is to put a pine cone in it. As the pine cone burns it crackles and sounds lovely. 😊♥️🇨🇦🌈

I guess Imma have to build my own spaceship and leave you here
If you find the ice maker kits in their boxes you can sell them to people who want them for their refrigerators make some money off of them
Days are long and years are short.
You was talking about how time flys bye it reminds me of a friend that use ride back and forth to work with me he said the older you get the faster time goes by
The glass ornaments can be rather expensive as everything is made of plastic these days. 😊♥️🌈🇨🇦
as always a great instructive night scrap video fox
Yo Mike that motor looks more like TIME MACHINE PARTS instead of SPACE SHIP PARTS BRO
IS THAT A CHILDS TOY?????? For 2.99 Mike the Scavenger played with it for 10 minutes. YEAH BABY : )
Kids find a huge cardboard box amusing! Lol!
There's a remote control car that goes inside that wheel toy, it flips around and stufff
Glad you went back and got base plate for fly press all Complete now
Love watching you!
The box the gear boxes was in had "Suspect... " something markered on it.
Sweet Hall Mike!! 🤘🤘🤘
Love the show, get them snibbits
Throws washer drum. Don’t go to far honey! Lmao
Manual bearing press that was that industrial part you found manuel bearing press !
$1000.00 obo
Its a variac for varying ac mains voltage. Its a copper coil, it is a transformer. I have the exact ones on my service benches.
That wall mount Fasteners Reference Guide @ 1:05 would suit a Man Cave and sell for a nominal amount.
thanks for another fun vid
Watch your step Mike , And be safe .
Yess dumpster diving woohoo
love your work mate..Gooday from ozzy land..A word of warning with some of those washing machine tubs and maybe a good thing for you is that some of them are filled with lead shot in the bottom and if you heat them up for a fire pit they will blow up..easy to drill a couple of holes in them to check them out though..I use one for a campfire pit and love it..
Them lil things with the gear on them looks like a regulator for a window roller for a vehicle
Free variac! Lucky bastard
Thats a variac Worth good money
Jason what is a variac
Enjoyed your video ..👍 always entertaining...looking forward to your next video..
your the Man
Those gear box things looks a little like the regulators for motorized windows in cars
Mike went all Indiana Jones in the Tomb of the Lost Scrap on that one
That thing you thought was a motor with the big round switch knob on top was an electrical frequency tuner, worth nearly $2,000.00.
No, its a variable transformer aka Variac. It supplies precise voltages
Love your channel for sure. i've seen a lot of channel out there but your is the better. One more subscriber. Excuse any mistake, I'm Brazilizilian.
Its like every day is Christmas. Lol
At 2:42 the things you were calling gearboxes, the box it was in said 'suspect clutches-do not sell'.
That round thing with the slots in it from your Arbor press?
Shakespeare!!🤣
You've got plenty of gold Mikey!
I like when you go deep to get the prize.
There are people on eBay who rebuild appliance boards, you might be able to sell them to these folks as parts or cores to rebuild.
Mike that Sky Jack battery charger is for a scissor lift crane
Your awesome bro doing wot u got to do to make that extra coin that’s so cool, love your videos
That Skyjack item appears to be a 24V charger for 24V battery systems.
That reostat was expensive to buy back in the 80’s
Don’t know the value now but they are full of copper.
3:17 badass variac.
Those are Cyborg parts from Cyberdyne, they are worth Billions, unless Sarah Connor destroys them first.
🤝
