    I’m so happy you shared your USC online Public Health experience. I wanted some insight prior to starting.

    I'm going to be a 3rd year undergraduate student in Fall 2023, so I'm just now researching into Masters programs and omg... the lack of clarity when it comes to graduate research in Public Health vs. undergraduate is insane!! Thank you for this video!!! Very helpful :) And CONGRATS on the job offer and acceptance!! I hope it's been going well!

    Hey Erica! Im an international student to take up MPH in LA? Please can you tell the job prospects? Are there enough job opportunities to make it worthwhile to just travel across the world to study MPH?

    Hi! I just got accepted into the MPH program for USC fall 2022. Do you believe that the online degree and in person degree are the same? Is there anything that would be different from them?
    I chose to do online because I work full time and I find it better to do work online rather than in person. Thank you for all the info!

      Hi and Congratulations on getting in!! In terms of material covered, there is no difference between the online and in person. If you are good with studying online and want to continue working full time, I definitely think online is the perfect place for you. I don’t believe it’s possible to do the on campus program and work full time. You would have to do part time because of the times classes occur.

    Hi! This was really helpful, but did the online program have any prerequisite for full time work experience? If so, how did you apply straight out of undergraduate?

    • @ericavision98

      Hi glad you enjoyed to video! The online didn't have any prereq for full time work so I was able to apply straight out of undergrad. Let me know if you have more questions :)

    Hi Erica,
    I find this video really enriching.
    I am still the process of application for a MpH online in the Keck school of medicine.
    How probably is it to get admission into the school?

    • @ericavision98
      @ericavision98  Рік тому

      Hi! I'm glad you enjoyed my video :) I believe that the acceptance rate is quite high for the online program (it is most likely more difficult for the on campus program). I think this is because there is less issues like classroom space to worry about when it's online. When you start applying, you get to call with a counselor to help you learn more about the admission process and you can ask them about how probable it is to get admission with your application. If they say you're in good shape, its very likely you'll get in.

    Hi! I got into the USC MPH program online! I also got into the NYU program on campus and am having trouble deciding between the two. I think my biggest thing is I wanna be able to have the right kind of internships/work with pharmaceutical companies! I currently live in Texas but I’m open to relocating for the internships - like working with the fda, cdc, etc! Do you think the online program will allow me those opportunities for the practicum?

    • @ericavision98
      @ericavision98  Рік тому +1

      Hello! The online program will definitely give you opportunities with lots of government agencies like the FDA, CDC, local county and more. Most of their opportunities are situated in the LA area, but there were definitely others in like Atlanta and across the country.
      I’m not too sure about pharmaceutical companies. I’m aware that some do community based research but I don’t remember any of those being offered from pharmaceutical companies while I was at USC. The internship/practicum opportunities were mostly for large hospitals around the area (Keck, CHLA, Cedars, Kaiser) or non profits (Downtown women’s health center, Phoenix House).

    Hi! Would masters programs be able to be covered if your full time job covered the costs? If so, do you think it would be possible to do work and be in school full time? Or would jobs allow students to work part time or take a break from work to focus on school?

      Hi! Thanks for watching my video :). So some full time jobs DO cover part of or all of your tuition. It really depends on the company you work for. I’ve known people who work part time while going to school but I have never met anyone whose company allowed them to take a whole 2 year break to focus on school. Perhaps they exist, I personally don’t know. It all depends on your company

    Hi! Thanks for the video! It gave me information that I couldn't find on the USC MPH website:) I am planning to start MPH in epidemiology and biostatistics in the summer. Do people in MPH socialize a lot with one another? Is it easy to make friends in classes? I am moving from the East Coast and don't know anyone in LA, so I was scared that grad school is going to be different from undergrad, and people don't socialize as much. Also, are the classes mostly interactive and require presentations or are they just note-taking classes? Thanks for the video again:)

    • @ericavision98
      @ericavision98  Рік тому +2

      Hi Kimmm!! Thanks for watching ❤. That’s a great question, and a chance to make new friends was something I was looking forward to too! There are group projects and we are encouraged in class to talk to each other and participate. But in order to make friends, I really think you have to put yourself out there. The vibes are less social then undergrad. I would say, everyone is really friendly but they usually are busy with work or they commute from far away. Unlike undergrad, they’re less likely to want to hang out… that doesn’t mean it’s impossible! I met a few of ppl who were really great because I reached out first and two of them are from out of state😊! You GOT this!! I recommend making group chats and study groups
