Our latest video featuring Eric and Chad catching trout in Saint Joe Bay. We will be going back next month so stay tuned for more. Shirts and apparel: www.reelmen8888...
What a great area to fish. I grew up fishin' the Panhandle and the variety and color of the fish over there is stunning. I live in Jacksonville these days and while our fish ain't as purty we do alright in numbers and size for big gator trout, bull reds, hoss sheepies, and flounder. If you guys ever get a wild hair and head this direction I would love to take you guys out. Our season starts in Sept. and gets wound up from there through May. Seriously, no bullshit send me a message and it's on.
its always interesting to see the different types of Rigs, im a west coast fisherman and the species and rigs are different, its very cool to see stuff i havent seen before, i have never seen anything like that orange thing "that pisses trout off", good stuff !! If you ever get a chance to go to San Diego in later summer early fall you will have to get on a charter boat and go Tuna and Albacore fishing, it aint cheap but it sure is nice to come home with 100 pounds of fresh tuna !
Just a question, why are you guys fishing with surf fishing tackle in the flats? The heaviest rod I would use in the bays is a medium light rod with a much smaller reel, and at the most, 14lb test. Works fine for lures and popping corks.
Never had a 42" red break any of my lighter tackle, but you will fight them for a while. My surf rig is a 12ft. 2 piece ugly-stik with a shimano baitrunner 12000D... and while it's soaking out in the water I'll wade out to the sand bars with my shimano citica on a medium light FTU rod and toss mirrolures, kelley wigglers, and a gold spoon, or silver if it's clear enough. My FTU rod is surprising for only being $80 bucks though... real strong, good action, and fairly light.
I fish St Joe bay a lot and if you want to catch some blacktip shark and white trout head to the 13 green channel marker near the end of Cape San Blas. I personally have hung into a 12ft tiger shark on a ship wreck not to far from the 13 channel marker.
Ive found that using a lighter bass rod with 15 or 20 lb braid tied too a few feet of 20 or 30 lb fluorocarbon with a swimbait, crankbait, or my favorite a redfish magic by strike king can produce a lot mre fish then shrimp or mullet, awesome video though. Keep it up!
It would be cool if you could do a video on fishing for beginners. I haven't fished since I was a really young kid and I want to take my son out fishing soon
Not really into fishing at all but maybe I'll learn something about boating before I pick one up. Oh yea. If I send you a POS boat, will you blow it up for me? :)
Guns and fishing are my favorite things, and now you have a fishing channel. You guys are awesome!
I'm loving these videos. Very relaxing and enjoyable.
I love your fishing videos just as much as I enjoy your gun videos. You have real talent sir.
Thank you so much for another awesome fishing video, I'm very surprised it doesn't have more views!
