Some of the other replacements felt like, I don't want to say a step down because adam for example was fantastic as time went on, but they were clearly not quite as iconic, and while Kat has some of that same problem, I do think they simply had a better plan in place (probably in part because Amy Jo Johnson told them she was leaving rather than just walking off) and therefore Kat is able to come in in a more well-realized way.
Man I love season 3 of MMPR. There was something about the ninja suits that felt memorable. And it felt like they were putting more money for the original non sentai footage fights scenes.
I couldn't agree more. Probably my one complaint with MMPR Season 3 was that I wanted more episodes, which I think is a good thing if you ask me. It's sad that this was the end of the MMPR Era (Which I LOVE So Much). And maybe more so than even MMPR Season 2 (Which I do love too), it really showed that Power Rangers didn't need to be extremely reliant on Super Sentai and it could stand on its own 2 feet. Ntm, I Loved episodes like Wizard for a Day, Ninja Quest, Friend in Need, Rita's Pita and Stop the Hate Master just to name a few.

This season did seem too short given how epic it felt. The whole season only aired in one half year which was strange but also what got us onto the February new series cycle. But think about this - take out the masked rider and alien ranger episodes and the season is only 28 episodes! I think they did it to give the cast and crew a break as they’d been filming non stop since the zyu2 episode filming days While the transition to zeo felt awesomely epic it always felt like things were unfinished here given turbo completely rebooted everything. It still really annoys me there was never a conclusion to this team vs Rita, zedd, and vile.

Kat was always awesome, and being the first Ranger who was selected by another Ranger made her a bit more human in her episodes than most other characters. You didn't have to throw her in a billion civil service activities to show that she was a good person, like how they treated season 1. She had insecurities that teenagers can relate to, like her weight, indecisiveness about what she wanted for her future, and role on the team. I may not have liked her as much if she debuted in season 2 though, because they basically threw in the new Rangers out of necessity, which robbed them of personalities and emotional arcs. But she had some great moments.
Here in Puerto Rico, Season 3 never aired. When the Turbo movie came I was lost because I had no idea who Kat and Tanya were. I didn’t get to see S3 until I was a teenager during the “Best of Power Rangers” on ABC family

I don't know why season 3 would get any hate it's a great season with lots of twists and turns and changes. I cried like a baby when Kimberly left the show but I was excited for the new Pink Ranger Kat. I wish the Alien Rangers saga was longer though.
I'd say one thing I really loved about season 3 was how they did Zordon's VA recording. It gave him more of a prescene in the command center in quite a few episodes.
I remember I grew to love and accept Aisha, Adam and Rocky by this season. I didn’t like Season 2 for some reason but after the movie I remember I went in to Season 3 with excitement, it felt like it was THEIR season now and were no longer replacements. Yes, Kim’s departure was a great loss but Kat’s addition worked amazing. Stories felt epic, it felt like a lot was in stake and I must say the season finale and the ending to move to Zeo was INCREDIBLE! I remember I was astonished!!!
I loved MMPR S3, I think it was refreshing and gave the show the realy soft reboot it needed with Rocky, Adam and Aisha joing the team. After they got the new powers, they fitted more in my opinion. Also mutch better zords, I didn't like the Thunderzords, I couldn't connect with them at all. Replacing Amy with Kath was getting used to, but no big issue. I think that also was refreshing for the show in general.
The entire MMPR series was great in my opinion. I like the Zeo Rangers even better, didn't like the Turbo season but loved the Power Rangers In Space season.
As a kid I remember that I kept hoping the show would upgrade the costumes to the movie costumes. But all we ever got was the sparkly costumes. At least we got the ninja costumes. Those were also really cool.
I follow this channel and I can say that it is excellent. I was a kid when the Rangers were at their peak and I watched every episode. I read the comments and enjoy everything because you manage to bring me back to my childhood. As for the Rangers themselves, they were shown in Serbia until Rangers in Space, only after a few years did the TV companies buy the rights for the sequel. I feel very sorry for Tommy now that he won't be in the next movie where the old Rangers get together.
Season 3 was amazing, the last few episodes of the season are so insanely good, when they gotta rescue ninjor from getting his powers drained, its just pure Zord fighting chaos. Amazing stuff
The visual history book is fantastic and I'm lucky enough to have one, picked a copy up online for less than £40 in 2021, but I believe it's not actively printed anymore and I recently saw copies listed for £100-£150, which is insane. I hope a newer up to date one eventually gets released. The second-hand market in Ranger Merch for almost anything is crazy levels of expensive.
Season 3 was cool because it actually had story arcs that went across several episodes. They really tried something different in an era of Television that was dominated by "adventure of the day" formats.
Feels like the producers learned their lesson from Jason, Zack, and Trini to Rocky, Adam, and Aisha. I grew to accept Adam and Aisha quicker than I did Rocky since Jason was one of my favorites growing up. To the point that whenever my brother and I would watch episodes, we would "rewrite" them so Jason was still on the team in the MMPR days (this would change come Zeo). Seeing as there was close to no build up to the turn over, I'm sure this was done to counter the back lash for Kimberly.
I still don’t fully accept Steve Cardenas as mmpr red ranger cause from the start I took to Jason before tommy was introduced but I accept him better as zeo ranger blue cause there isn’t any baggage with that ranger but I fully respect him as part of the rangers history
@@kevin10001 I'm the same way, honestly. And it had nothing to do with his character or acting. Rocky as a character was perfectly fine. His only flaw was following after Jason. No matter who you pick that wasn't going to go over well.
Replacing Jason was rough. I still think he was the best leader from the MMPR era. I loved Zach has his second in command too. Adam and Aisha won me over because both were great. Adam, in particular, became one of my favorite rangers. When he came back and helped Carlos during Power Rangers in Space that was epic. I think Rocky really came into his own when he became the Blue Zeo Ranger. I think part of the problem was they had made Tommy the leader already so Rocky was never supposed to really be a replacement for Jason. I think it would have been better had they been able to have Tommy come back when Jason left and have that transition there. But, obviously, behind the scenes issues kept that from happening.
Kat was insanely hot to me as a kid, especially with her accent and Adam is still my favorite of everyone. His acting feels so natural and really stands out.
Disappointed possibly was that scene depressing you bet it was. I will never forget it. I may not have had the same expierences as Kids from the 90’s, but I can relate.
Another Great Video!! As a 2000s kid who grew up with the later Power Rangers Seasons, Disney Era and Early Neo-Saban Era to be precise, MMPR Season 3's one of my Top 5 favourite Power Ranger Seasons!! I think it had a great middle-ground between giving us something new but at the same time still feeling like MMPRs as we know and love it. If you ask me, It also showed, maybe more so than MMPR Season 2, that Power Rangers can be successful without being too reliant on Super Sentai, something Boom! Studios have carried on very well today.
I’m really only familiar with MMPR seasons, however I think I’d call season 3 my favorite overall season, with green with evil being my favorite arc in those seasons. I’d like to see more from MMAR as that’s a continuation of the series.

I wouldn't entirely agree that Might Morphin Alien Rangers has absolutely nothing to do with Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Season 3. It sees Rita Repulsa, and Lord Zedd returned to the role of the main big bad for a while, resolves the rangers being restored to their proper ages, and also addresses Ninjor's fate. Thus it resolves numerous plot lines Season 3 had left unresolved.
Welp, I grew up watching both Masked Rider and Kamen Rider Black RX. They were broadcast in different channels here in Brazil (Fox Kids and Manchete, respectively). It was like night and day. I was too young so I didn't care much on why the shows were similar but different at the same time, but RX had more heart and was more entertaining overall. One thing I'd like to point out is that most english-speaking youtubers treat the super sentai shows as if they were a series with various seasons (like PR) but in fact Super Sentai is a genre, with various individual shows, like the "ninja sentai" you mentioned on the video (which is actually their monicker as the correct name is Kakuranger). Great video btw, looking forward for the next parts.
I remember being so excited to see the movie. Then seeing the ninja quest episodes was definitely different. At the time I never understood why the movie and episodes was so different. Then once I got older and stuff was being revealed what went into the show I got more interested. I just wish they didn't make masked rider after the cameo. Black Rx was amazing and still is to this day.
As a kid, I didn't get to see the movie in theatres so I was happy they adapted the ninja-power into an episodic format. Then when the Turbo movie came out, I also didn't see it in theatres, but was bummed out that they made it essential to see to understand what was happening in the show.
It was cool seeing the movie in theaters and I got to see the movie in theaters for free cause i actually won a fox kids contest that gave away 2 free tickets that each ticket admitted 2 people so it was like winning 4 tickets but them not having to actually print 4 tickets
I would love to hear about the BTS of all the seasons, it certainly gives you a different perspective on the characters and episodes, especially when you go back and rewatch a season and you're like "Oh yeah, that's right, they had to do *** (or "they couldn't have *** they did *** instead"), now that part makes so much more sense." 😁
Kat was introduce mid way of season 3 …. But season 3 was all Kimberly a total of 25 episodes which kat only did 8 in ranger form so I didn’t see a point cause they waited so long to do the switch but I see why cause Kimberly character was so popular 😊 so I see why it took awhile
Here's a question, storywise it didn't make any sense to me as to why the Rangers just didn't use Tor the Shuttlezord while fighting Rito. As it was for precisely that situation he was created for in the first place.
I agree with you about Season 3. It may be the best simply because it upped the stakes. Master Ville kept the Rangers on the backfoot the entire season making every victory feel earned. The Shogun Megazord is epic and seeing it fight alongside the Ninja Megazord was unprecedented (2 Megazord). Most importantly, Tommy versus Zed was epic. Wish they had squared off again.
This was PEAK PR for me, season 3 is my favorite because it was the point where I loved PR the most (due to the movie). I really heartbroken Amy; my childhood crush left. Enjoyed seeing her as Susie Q shortly after but it was my first heartbreak. Won't be surprised if Amy leaving PR is the reason why I am gay now. 🎉😂 My next heart break came after In Space, Zordon dying 😢. Still have not seen PR since Zordon's end. The end of Zordon was the end of PR for me (until this 30th anniversary episode).
😞 It was sad watching Kimberly leave. But if I had to pick a worthy replacement for Kimberly, I would pick Kat 👍 And yes, I would like to see a behind-the-scenes video about the Alien Rangers in the near future. 👽
I remembered Ninjor from 1 or 2 episodes as a kid. When I went to watch the whole show in chronological order and it's entirety, I was definitely trying to figure out why Season 3 and the Movie overlapped. I figured the movie was just it's own thing but glad you confirmed that, I wasn't able to find much else on it. Maybe you already covered this and I tried searching this as well, why did Pudgy Pig show up twice but they didn't recognize him the second time? Just a filler character thinking kids wouldn't notice?
Some of my favorite episodes from season 3 was the destruction of the thunderzords as we never saw a Megazord truly destroyed and Changing of the Zords story arc. Especially when the entire command center begins to shake as they teleport Zedd into it.

Kimberly leaving was indeed a sad moment...but by the time of her departure, I had already fallen in love with Katherine's accent. 😅 TBH, I had a feeling Kim would be leaving when Kat stuck around and was wearing pink so much...but I wasn't FULLY convinced, as I thought they may pull another bait & switch like with the whole Curtis/Richie thing. 😂 But they are both GREAT in the role, and I was happy either way. P.S. Season 3 is one of my favorites, too! I LOVED all the ninja stuff (wish we could've gotten more of it) and it has more of my favorite part of Power Rangers (again, that we don't get enough of nowadays): civilian battles! I love when the actors are given a chance to showcase their own abilities, and the martial arts part of the show is what originally hooked me anyway.
I always thought it was super weird how quick the alien rangers came and went. Weren’t they called aqua rangers or was that something else? With that, yes, an alien rangers bts would be great!
I was done with power rangers when billy didn't get the yellow zeo crystal and he gave it to Tanya and when he didn't become the new gold ranger happy Jason return though...

A Different Shade of Pink is a great episode to bring Kat as a new Pink Power Ranger.

I will never forget the episode “Red Forever” ( I believe that’s what is was called ) all the red rangers in one episode blew my mind.

Welp, I grew up watching both Masked Rider and Kamen Rider Black RX. They were broadcast in different channels here in Brazil (Fox Kids and Manchete, respectively). It was like night and day. I was too young so I didn't care much on why the shows were similar but different at the same time, but RX had more heart and was more entertaining overall.
One thing I'd like to point out is that most english-speaking youtubers treat the super sentai shows as if they were a series with various seasons (like PR) but in fact Super Sentai is a genre, with various individual shows, like the "ninja sentai" you mentioned on the video (which is actually their monicker as the correct name is Kakuranger).

I remember being so excited to see the movie. Then seeing the ninja quest episodes was definitely different. At the time I never understood why the movie and episodes was so different. Then once I got older and stuff was being revealed what went into the show I got more interested. I just wish they didn't make masked rider after the cameo. Black Rx was amazing and still is to this day.
As a kid, I didn't get to see the movie in theatres so I was happy they adapted the ninja-power into an episodic format. Then when the Turbo movie came out, I also didn't see it in theatres, but was bummed out that they made it essential to see to understand what was happening in the show.
It was cool seeing the movie in theaters and I got to see the movie in theaters for free cause i actually won a fox kids contest that gave away 2 free tickets that each ticket admitted 2 people so it was like winning 4 tickets but them not having to actually print 4 tickets

I would love to hear about the BTS of all the seasons, it certainly gives you a different perspective on the characters and episodes, especially when you go back and rewatch a season and you're like "Oh yeah, that's right, they had to do *** (or "they couldn't have *** they did *** instead"), now that part makes so much more sense." 😁
Season 3 is the best season for me. It's the season I have introduced my kids to Power Rangers.
Kat was introduce mid way of season 3 …. But season 3 was all Kimberly a total of 25 episodes which kat only did 8 in ranger form so I didn’t see a point cause they waited so long to do the switch but I see why cause Kimberly character was so popular 😊 so I see why it took awhile

Here's a question, storywise it didn't make any sense to me as to why the Rangers just didn't use Tor the Shuttlezord while fighting Rito. As it was for precisely that situation he was created for in the first place.
I agree with you about Season 3. It may be the best simply because it upped the stakes. Master Ville kept the Rangers on the backfoot the entire season making every victory feel earned. The Shogun Megazord is epic and seeing it fight alongside the Ninja Megazord was unprecedented (2 Megazord). Most importantly, Tommy versus Zed was epic. Wish they had squared off again.
This was PEAK PR for me, season 3 is my favorite because it was the point where I loved PR the most (due to the movie). I really heartbroken Amy; my childhood crush left. Enjoyed seeing her as Susie Q shortly after but it was my first heartbreak. Won't be surprised if Amy leaving PR is the reason why I am gay now. 🎉😂
My next heart break came after In Space, Zordon dying 😢. Still have not seen PR since Zordon's end. The end of Zordon was the end of PR for me (until this 30th anniversary episode).

I remembered Ninjor from 1 or 2 episodes as a kid. When I went to watch the whole show in chronological order and it's entirety, I was definitely trying to figure out why Season 3 and the Movie overlapped. I figured the movie was just it's own thing but glad you confirmed that, I wasn't able to find much else on it.
Maybe you already covered this and I tried searching this as well, why did Pudgy Pig show up twice but they didn't recognize him the second time? Just a filler character thinking kids wouldn't notice?

Some of my favorite episodes from season 3 was the destruction of the thunderzords as we never saw a Megazord truly destroyed and Changing of the Zords story arc. Especially when the entire command center begins to shake as they teleport Zedd into it.

This season was great and felt like a big step up in the quality of storytelling and action. Always felt it was too short given how epic it became. The whole season only aired in one half year which was strange but also what got us onto the February new series cycle. But think about this - take out the masked rider and alien ranger episodes and the season is only 28 episodes! I think they did it to give the cast and crew a break as they’d been filming non stop since the zyu2 episode filming days
While the transition to zeo felt awesomely epic it always felt like things were unfinished here given turbo completely rebooted everything. It still really annoys me there was never a conclusion to this team vs Rita, zedd, and vile.
It's funny how Season 3 of MMPR reminded me of Seasons 1 & 2 of Justice League the animated series; WAY too many multiparter episodes haha
I had such a crush on Kat. I thought Kimberly was pretty as well, but Kat came on the show just as I was coming "of age."
Kimberly leaving was indeed a sad moment...but by the time of her departure, I had already fallen in love with Katherine's accent. 😅 TBH, I had a feeling Kim would be leaving when Kat stuck around and was wearing pink so much...but I wasn't FULLY convinced, as I thought they may pull another bait & switch like with the whole Curtis/Richie thing. 😂 But they are both GREAT in the role, and I was happy either way.
P.S. Season 3 is one of my favorites, too! I LOVED all the ninja stuff (wish we could've gotten more of it) and it has more of my favorite part of Power Rangers (again, that we don't get enough of nowadays): civilian battles! I love when the actors are given a chance to showcase their own abilities, and the martial arts part of the show is what originally hooked me anyway.
