Amazing guest on this one. I like it when the guests know the show, she definitely passed the vibe check and just a great overall chemistry. Also super interesting and informative topic especially for me being from Europe and knowing embarrassingly little about all this.
Lydia was a fantastic guest expert! What a great episode! I hope you guys have her back for another episode.
What a great guest, very witty and her sarcasm was on point. Bring her back!
Lydia was awesome, thank you so much. you're so smart and well spoken on native rights and context
I really loved this pod. I live close to Brant County. My ancestor, Dr. John R. Dease, (married to Native known as Jane French) was a superintendent of Indian Affairs along with, and close to Sir William Johnson (husband of Molly Brant) and Joseph Brant. I'm tremendously pleased to see part of Native heritage explained in detail in a forum that reaches people that may not have known otherwise. More pods like this are definitely welcomed. I'd love to see Lydia back on the pod for a more in-depth visit into the Six Nations and the relationship between Native peoples and their struggles with the British and United States establishments and how Natives have been directly affected, including the creation of Reservations and current issues that are still relevant today. Since my heritage is made up of New York Caughnawaga (Quebec Kahnawake), German and Irish/British, I tend to feel a conflict within. Though I've read a lot, it's not the same as hearing from someone who is an expert speak about modern aspects relating to the past. Thanks, Lydia.
Absolutely loved Lydia! Not only was she well versed on the subject, but her sense of humor and contagious laughter really made this episode stand out for me. Please bring her back for another topic...or even to join in when her Dad comes on.
Lydia was a good sport, I learned stuff and had a laugh, that's always a good thing.
That was a great episode!! 💜💜💜
Please have her back on another topic! 👍
Jack slowly metamorphosing into Forest
"not the teddy bear one"😂
How can he be so wrong and so right at the same time
Easily one of the best guests ever. It's gonna be hard to beat TJ calling in from an ice cream shop in Slovakia though.
Great conversation. Much respect
Great podcast guys. Not if any on here has mentioned that there is 3 different levels of Indigenous Protected Land across Australia. Most of Northern Queensland, WA and NT and throughout the Australian Nullabor plane are Indigenous areas. Every state also has these areas as well which if you want to travel across or around that land you need to pay a fee and have a special permit. So whilst Australia doesn’t have reserves like the US does, there is land that is for Indigenous people. I’ve done drives before and had to have special permits to travel on the land and you don’t pay the government this.
So great to hear people talking about the late great Charlie Hill! If you don’t know Charlie Hill do yourself a big favor and look him up on the UA-cam! Such an important and underrated pioneer!
This guest Lydia is a lot of fun and very informative. More Native content please!😊 more Lydia!
Please bring her back for more Indigenous topics. She was excellent!
What a wonderful guest lydia is
Thanks guys! Excellent expert!
Another great episode.
Giday to all IDKAT - another dose for my mental health - ye haw!
This was a good 'un.
MSG is not illegal in Australia, you can buy 2kg bags of it any asian supermarket and it's in a bunch of foods, as well as naturally being in most meats, fish, dairy etc.
I really enjoyed this episode and Lydia as a guest, definitely have her back pls 👍
stop lying jim we know no one likes this and you made this up lol
Great guest and episode❤
I have Oneida and Potawatomi in my region.
I love and respect them
The culture is very watered down.
Awesome episode. & that Bitter Tears album is one of Johnny's best works.
Jim looks like he's auditioning for one of the Village People. Im not positive, but i think that woman is a hunter. Great episode.
T minus nine weeks till the Toronto charm offensive show!! can't wait!! I've already picked out the restaurant I'll be having dinner in before the show!! 😅 😁
Forrest on Jim’s cape. I owe Jack an apology. He actually does work.
MSG is not banned in Australia. Burger Rings and Twisties are full of it.
I can’t even read that word, definitely going to learn something new this episode!
1:55 there are ear parlors like barbershops in other countries. They use ear picks to clean your ears. Havent been myself but would if given the option.
As of this episode, the boys are doing every second week while they get through the next few busy months! Back to the regular schedule sometime in October. 😍
Cool guest
The story about this man going to a vet.. 😅..😮. That's why I am here
Great episode. Thats all. I laughed. I learned.
8:58! Hahah, couldn't predict that, but I'm also not surprised...
You guys should try to get Patton Oswalt on to promote the American 1% Club. He could probably be an expert on comic books or a dozen other things.
Super cool guest
Well done guys.....
What about the state of the current reservations. I don't think she visits them.
that MUST of been a ripper lol if Forest is covering his face then it's STANKY!
She and I come from the same reservation. Glad to see she's done well for herself, and escaped that shithole.
Anyone know what's going on with the Emu war movie
Asians are lactose intolerant? Yeah I heard this and took it as a given. In human breast milk there is lactose and glutimatic acid... Sugar and MSG
1:42:36 We all knew it, but it's now confirmed
The thing about food sovereignty and whatnot is that not everything will grow everywhere... and that taking up land for food production that would be better spent being left be is both economically and ecologically a mistake.
Globalized food markets are a societal good on a planetary scale.
The little mouth movement Jim does at 1:18:10 has so much more gravitas with the manly Aussie 'tache happening. This is how I picture his father to look and act like haha
Is this Jim Jefferies or pedro pascal from narcos! ;)
Geeze ,I enjoyed this one , Why so much whining and crying in the comments ? bunch of babies !
Msg is an entirely normal thing found in all sorts of foods naturally. I was going to say what the fuck is Jim on about, then I remembered the premise of this show.
When is Geoff starting a taco truck?
I'm gonna be angry next Tuesday and every other following Tuesdays til September x( 🤬)x
You forget, Mr. Australia, the aborigines claim the entire island of Australia.
Jim let us hear some thunder from down under.
HAHAHAHAHAAAHAHAHAHAH!!!! "Jim, do you want to promote your shows.......... AFTER THAT?"
I'mma see you and Mark and Dan at the Fox. I wish you'd looped Sam in though.
Yay someone who doesn't like you massage, and picked your toes nails off, thought I was on my own there for a while 😘
It's good bull ship 🚢. Not to mutch not to little
Are there actually any things considered cultural appropriation when done by a non-Caucasian? After the line dancing joke I really want to know if there are any!
1:20:05 "if you aren't able to ethically harvest an animal"
How... Literally how... Is taking a life ever ethical???
Maybe you just so happen to have a really scary scarecrow and bunnies pass of fright. We’d be having rabbit stew. 🫣
FTR- I’d never eat a bunny.
I remember the days when JJ was was funny and relevant. Long time ago now.
😅
So you're against eating beavers?
Terribly wrong about canadian hunting laws
lol no more lov e for you stop seeking and give me bruv
i check to see if forrest is still here. if he is, i exit video. dude sucks the life out of this podcast. jim can sell out an arena, but his videos here get only 10 to 12 k views?
Hunting and fishing license pay for all parrk and gameland maintenance.including garbage from hikers birdwatchers and joggers'they should pay there fair share.
...gay! ( the food stuff! )
don't ya love when witey millennial karen decides Shes the spokesperson for whatever minority they can get away with. my dads, mums 2nd cousin was a mini haha in a cowboy show so i'm now Indian, if you go back far enough, we can all claim to be African or whatever buzz word gets you some attention or what it really is MONEY. great subject wrong mouthpiece.
I've only tuned in to say what a dumb subject. I miss Kelly.
is it outside the realm of possibility that Jim perhaps puts up his own money combined with crowd sourcing (im sure he could get at least 50 grand within a couple months from the fans) to make a Legit season 3? But unlike FX where each episode was like 150K, just find a good producer and director (hello!) and spend about $15k per 35 minute episode and release it right on youtube, tik tok, ig, facebook. I believe it'll grow the channel from 300k subscribers (250k of which are inactive and hurting you) to 5 million by the end of the season. Each episode touches on the most and top trending aspects (calculated with time trending, A.K.A i'm not saying touch on some topic that was the most trending in the world for 1 day, but more so do the math and figure out time trending mixed with activity) of society within a 3 and a half month margin of error per episode. Jim is about to retire from the road (makes sense, all comedians overdo it. Look at jay leno or seinfeld, they havnt toured every state or countries every year for decades, yet no matter where they go and whenever they do it, it'll be a full crowd, giving them tons of time in between to do whatever they want...apparently that means having tons of cars, but Jim is smarter than that unless its a holden monaro he won't be sidetracked by simply buying fancy things and having expensive hobbies.....we'll allow the pinball machines but the cap ends there). Here's my proposal: Maybe even change the name and start fresh. But bring the best parts of Legit back but in a new format (still a tv show, but produced differently:). No corporate or commercial B.S. Jim Jefferies show was good but it was too produced and was filtering Jim to to point where it just felt weird he simply wasn't able to swear, it just felt icky, and was obvious everything he talked about was him regurgitating a bunch of stuff his writer room created that he now reads of the teleprompter. Bill Maher has writers, and 80% of his show Real Time is other writers, but not only did they understand him better, but it was on HBO giving him the freedom to swear and be politically incorrect (no pun intended). This new show by Jim would need to be dope and addicting in a Breaking Bad type of way. Jim Jefferies a.k.a Jimmy Nugget or whatever his real name is, does best when he follows his heart and isn't confined by not only tv channels/networks/talent agencies, and even his own tours. And don't worry Forrest and Jack, you will make more money and become more renowned with this Legit Season 3 idea because you guys are smart but you are being too safe. This podcast for example is great, but your marketing for it isnt working for some reason. They should get way more views and you all know this. Part of it is because the ad's come in too early and are too long, there's nothing wrong with taking a pay cut for a couple months in order to increase views and retention. I truly believe the reason joe rogan podcast blew up was because his ad's even tho done in the beginning, were super entertaining at first. They were literally about flesh lights and pills that make your brain smarter. Way more interesting than ads about therapy or whatever the litterbox ad was in this video? like i replayed it three times i still dont know what the product is. is it some company that makes dealing with cat poop easier? how? why? also nobody who is smart even has cats. people with cats dont pay for products. look at whenever a criminal gets busted for child abuse or murder, they always have cats and its always in a trailer. you've seen the true crime docs. come on. Ok im out of time but hopefully this comment gives u a godfrey nugget of inspiration and ideas to think about future endeavors. You have the power to make the next breaking bad. Thats all im saying. Peace out (disregard the fact this whole comment was filled with tangents and run on sentences, look beyond that for the real message)
