I KID you NOT when I say that a week ago, i was LOOKING for a pothos hanging plant tutorial. And guess what? 7 days later I find this, Thank you so much for this I'm so grateful. Still a noob and dont know how to read patterns so this is greatly appreciated 🥹 🙏
I made your hanging fern and it turned out so cute. This one will be number two. You explain things so well, and I really like how you get right to the point of the video. Thank you.
Oh my goodness! I've been wanting to learn how to crochet plants! So Happy to have come upon your channel! Thank You So Very Much for your time teaching! You're an Awesome teacher! 🎉❤
Just finished this now, listened to this whole video as a left hander! Tried not to look at the screen and only listen and it worked, however I chose to do normal puff stitches instead of horizontal as I found it easier, it still turned out amazingly and I am so grateful for this tutorial!! 🌱🌱🌱
I REALLY enjoy your videos! You make things seem so simple. I have been crocheting for a very long time but have never made the hanging plants. You made it so easy!! Thank you so much! Look forward to watching and learning with more of your videos!
I love these hanging plants, as well as the fern, and others you’ve shared. It all started when my granddaughter asked for one. I have a few done so I have a little something when I need it. I’m hooked! (Pun intended 😂) Thank so much for sharing these patterns.
I'm def an advanced crocheter and this is an advanced pattern she's going super fast wish there was a free written pattern bc I've. Watched this about 50 times already
Really? I actually had to speed the video up, because it was a bit slow for me as an advanced crocheter. I already had an idea of where she was going with most of this, so kinda just worked ahead of the video at times. I'd say this is more intermediate pattern. Tip: You can put the video on a lower speed, that might help.
Hi This is another lovely video of yours. I’ve watched the fern one this morning. I was wondering could you kindly do a monstera one as well please? Thank you.
Made this last night! Really enjoyed the basket, as I have never seen that horizontal puff stitch done before, so learned something new! Came out so cute! I want to make a bunch of different sizes now! XD
I absolutely love this video! I purchased the pattern as well, but needed slight clarification on some parts, which this video was perfect for. I’ve made three already and I can’t want to make the fern next! 🙂
Hi, I’ve just come across your videos….which are really great…. I’ve subscribed to all notifications. I’ve just made this little plant and hanger, you made everything ever so easy. Do you have a video on a little plant with easy to crochet flowers incorporated? Thank you, from North East England UK 😁
Thinking of making some of these for selling at a craft show, as it was so fun to make! Would you be ok with people selling these? Not the pattern, of course, just the item. Would give you credit for the design :)
@@forgoodnesskeepsakes Thank you so much! Yes, I have shown mine to several people and they all loved it! Want to try making some in dofferent sizes next! 😁
The easiest way is to simply use a larger hook with thicker yarn. Alternatively you can just increase the rows for the dirt and basket in the same fashion you'd increase a hat size (if that makes sense 🥴)
:) im like: what's a pickit? Never heard someone pronounce it like that. Super cute mini plants. I wanted some other options for my little animal to hold in a basket. I'm going to try this one.
@@forgoodnesskeepsakes I walked into a bakery awhile back, walked up to the guy behind the counter, and ordered an ass-sag-e-o bagel lol. (First time seeing the cheese. 😂) Guy made me repeat it like 6 times while laughing, and im pointing, lol
A little curl is normal. If it's really bad, adding an extra stitch in the leaves should help stop that. For instance, in R2 of the leaf, do ch2, 4dc(instead of 3dc), hdc, etc etc and see if that helps. I hope that makes sense. If not I could probably make a short to show you what I mean.
🤔 that's hard to diagnose without seeing it. Is it after the second row that you notice there's not enough stitches? Any chance you can email me a picture of what your progress looks like? I may be able to help that way. If you can (and want to), my email is pam@forgoodnesskeepsakes.com 🙂
@@forgoodnesskeepsakes yes i do the double crochets into the chain then the row with 2 in each stich and it comes up short but honestly it still looks ok so 🤷🏼♀️lol
@@forgoodnesskeepsakes the last 3 slip stitches are not lining up correctly, then when i look back at the work, neither are all the stems, it’s staggered 🤔
Lol I was confused for a hot minute 😆 the last three slip stitches aren't super important if everything else looks okay tbh. Is everything else lining up okay or are they staggered funny?
I'm here cuz I bought the pattern off of Etsy. I'm not super happy with the way the pattern is written which is why I'm here watching the video. Buy a lot of patterns and make a lot of different things and this is by far one of the most difficult patterns to read. Especially because I feel like it would have been a lot easier just to do a magic circle double crochet nine and then double crochet 18 with some double crochet increases this joining together method has been very difficult for me. Also I felt frustrated because there's no end how many stitches you should have at the end of your row. Like every single crochet pattern I've ever bought has how many stitches at the end of the row you should have and this pattern doesn't. Really like the product and I hope that despite all these hurdles I can make it.
Thank you for your feedback! I have video tutorials on tiktok too and also a slowed down video of just the leaves/stems I can link you to if you think that may help. I do revisit patterns based on feedback, so i appreciate it a lot, truly!
It would’ve been far kinder of you to send her a private message on Etsy, where you bought the pattern, and let her her know your concerns about the pattern. She was nice enough to take the time and trouble to make this tutorial and offer her help and assistance for free. Calling someone out in public on their channel is rude and unkind.
Beautiful creation but....why make a video if you're trying to sell the pattern? I can just make it from this instead of buying the pattern? Not trying to be rude, just wanting to point something out you might not have thought of.
I absolutely thought of it before making a single video, but decided to make full public tutorials anyways and here's why: because I WANT people to be able to make it without the pattern. Selling the pattern isn't my ultimate goal. It's just a way to help fund my hobby. One could tediously watch my video and write it down for personal use and I wouldn't mind one bit. But I *have* taken the time to write it out and for just a couple dollars, anyone can have it written already. It allows more people access while still giving people the option to support me in a way that's mutual beneficial: I wrote it out for you if you don't feel like doing the work yourself, but you can also watch it and make it and that still supports me even if you don't buy the pattern because my channel is monetized. And I can see my traffic stats on Etsy. Let me tell you, I've made the vast majority (over 90%) of my sales from direct traffic from my tutorial videos on here and TT. So 90% of my sales came from people who saw the entire tutorial and wanted to spend a couple bucks getting the written pattern anyways. I'm incredibly thankful for the support and all glory to God for it. If anything, making these videos has been a catalyst for sales, not a hindrance. I don't think you're being rude at all by asking, I appreciate your comment! Did you know an author can generally predict how well book sales will go based on how many copies they give away for free? The more they give away free, the higher their sales. It's the same kind of concept. But even if I didn't make a single sale, I'd still post them here anyways. I want people to be able to make them! Hope that makes sense 🙂
@@forgoodnesskeepsakes I appreciate this! I have the pattern wishlisted on my etsy account too btw. But this answer was so genuine and down to earth it definitely made me want to support you even though I was already planning on buying the pattern lol. I barely watch tutorials anymore after learning to read patterns and I just find it quicker and easier to go from a pattern.
