I think Ghana has the best music in the world. I like Sarkodie, Bisa Kdei, Guru and Castro. I heard that Castro left this world after trying to save a woman who feel off a jet ski. Ghana people are amazing with a history of royalty and power.

I visited Ghana in 1979 to visit a friend, I was there for 2 weeks, I'm African American. The place I stayed I noticed local kids playing soccer with a busted tennis ball. I felt bad so I bought a new soccer ball for the kids and a pump for the ball, I gave the ball to a girl and the pump to a boy, the girl with the ball took the pump from the boy and ran off with the ball and the pump with the rest of the local kinds in tow. Typical woman, I have a picture of them on my face book page. This is one of my most cherished memories. Meda wo ase.

I'm guessing most foreigners are in Ghana to work in finance or construction or banking, but I never see them in random videos on youtube? Where are they spending their free time? I hope you make some more videos, even interviewing foreigners/1st time visitors! Lastly, is it hard to find Crab meat served in restaurants and is it normally served hot or cold? What about bacon?

I'm researching about the language and culture online to make sure that I understand whether she is having trouble learning language, or whether she has a disability. +neo carl Hey Neo, if your left hand is injured and u can't use it, then don't go to Ghana and increase the injury by using your hand that is already injured please.
As i mention on the video, the use of right hand is important, but me as a Ghanaian myself, i've been there, & have mistaken my right hand to my left one, it happens, especially cos i was born abroad, i'm still getting use to that, you will not receive any backlash, i promise lol. It's the culture but it's also respectful to not strongly impose a culture maneer for someone who is not use to it. I'm sure some Ghanaians are aware of that.
I hope i've answered the comments about people asking persistently about the use of left hand, good that you ask but don't go to Ghana & put your whole attention on this, there are so many things to do in Ghana, you won't receive any backlash from using your left hand, especially if you're still not used to it.
    Much love- :)

This may be off topic but I've got to say this. Well done !! That's awesome. We dont see that much often. Born abroad but still you proudly refer to yourself as Ghanaian. Hey!
i'm not sure about spanish mexican dishes, but one thing i notice the most on my last trip to Ghana in 2012 is the amount of chinese restaurants they were in Accra as i was driving around in taxi! So, there is definitely chinese and east asian restaurants, especially in many parts of Accra!
& I'm sure there may be some few restaurants that may serve Spanish food but i believe it's rare , but if there are a few, i think you're most likely to find them in the capital! (Maybe Kumasi too)

My understanding of the reason behind not using the left hand in accepting something from someone or shaking someones hand is that, that is the hand that is used when we use the toilet to clean ourselves so it is deemed improper to use that hand to shake someone or accept something from people. Very simple reason. I don't know about all this slave master stuff.

Thank you so much young lady, a very informative video, I'm planning a trip there for the first time in March, your info is very invaluable.
Are hotels there very expensive? are there many Black Americans that visit your country?
Finally, are the women friendly? ok, thanks again for you video I really appreciate you.

Its a pretty nice video, but I dont think Ghana is a loud country...if u have been in New York, u will understand what I mean. And jus so u know, taxi drivers everywhere will charge u a lil more when they know u are a foreigner...in New York, they will charge u 3 times the actual price

Thanks for the video! My man is from Kumasi, Ghana and I want to learn all I can. Hes currently there right now which makes it so hard! Hopefully I can visit soon! Any advice? P.s. I'm like super white and I'm kind of wondering what people will think when I visit with him. Also I want to make a good impression with his parents!

    • @chiefs9817
      @chiefs9817 10 років тому

You'll be surprised how many white people are there so don't worry about your race. Ghanaians are more likely to even treat you better than their fellow Ghanaians so you're even ahead in the treatment department. Just be humble around his parents and you'll be fine.

Come on Kristin, worry not sis, Ghana much adore the company of white people and foreigners than its own people, thats what they take great pleasure in. You will be certainly welcome, My grandfather was white, was a british, tanner than day light just like you, but was able to go to GH and find a voltarian, my grandmother to create a family with, He was welcomed, and so will u be welcomed. The welcoming of Foreigners from all part of the world, the hospitality, courtesy, generosity and friendliness has been a habit and second nature in Ghanians for centuries. The queen of england, queen elizabeth was very welcomed to Ghana's first independence day and even sat with the Royals of the various tribes of Ghana and the President, ate with them and everything. Foreigners are Ghana's great priority, they hold them in high esteem. I hope this helps you on your comprehension of how Ghana welcomes foreigners into the country. Thanks

Ghana's crime is not brutal .like a gun robbery , but it is very sophisticated and intelligent and there are so many thieves . Be careful with your money , because Ghana (and all Africa) is a minefield for your money.Especially if you buy a plot . Do not forget that Ghanaian hackers are on the list 10 top in the world and they are very intelligent . Better if you have family in Ghana.

lovelee black but left handed people still learn not to give or recieve things with their left hands .. but when the right hand is occupied you can use left hand with apology . In Nigeria , when you can't use the right hand for one reason or the other which the other person clearly sees , you simply apologise and while you go ahead and use the left . No body will kill you for using the left , but it's already a sign of disrespect! While some will tell you immedietly they are not happy with that act.

When I had my salon an African sista came to get her hair done. She began talking about things her American husband was doing. I and other clients told her about American men. She became stronger.
