@@RC99mx when you run the engine flat out the fuel evaporating in the cylinder is what it keeps the piston from melting, when you let off the gas to break the piston is really hot, and it barely gets any fuel to cool it, and by choking the intake you increase the amount of fuel that gets into the engine giving it extra cooling and preventing knocking or even melting a hole straight trough it. I hope it was understandable
the choking seems pretty difficult since you gotta do it every single corner and also you have to time the braking and choking and get your 2nd hand in the wheel in time
Nice! Im doing a rebuild for my Simson S51 (GDR / DDR Moped) with a Vortex VA 95. I am so excited for the result. Original they made 3,4 HP, i hope i will get arround 25 HP ;) Greetings from germany!
Thatsbfor giving the engine more full, you shut off the air...very important, other time is you have 2 screws on the carburator, you can give the engine more ore lower full on the botthem ore high rpm wen the engine runs to lean ore to ritch
In a 2-stroke the lubrication is provided by the fuel that gets in the engine, it also cools down the piston. When you're at high rpm, the piston gets hot and so do all the bearings inside the engine. When you let off the throttle you interrupt almost completely the fuel flow, starving the engine of lubrication and cooling. If you do that you risk seizing a piston or getting the engine very hot and indicing very bad knocking/detonation which also will not make your piston very happy. You put the engine in front of the airbox to create a slight vacuum that increases fuel flow momentarily.

Yeah I have an x30 and do not underestimate the kart in this video because it’s mad quick, but x30’s are the quickest single geared karts and are quicker
Karts would be pretty close in times. X30 kart is 50 lbs heavier or more, 100 is very light and nimble handling. 100cc rebuild after every race weekend, x30 rebuild after 10hrs or so.

Hey Gil - very nice drive ! 😊 I also got me a 100cc Kart with a vortex VA/B - so it’s one generation earlier then yours I guess? Can you give me a hint on what sprocket you drive (axle and engine)? Maybe also carb? (I’m running a Walbro wb24) That would be awesome !!! - because at this time my max rpm isn’t even close to what you do for warm-up! Keep on racing 💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿

great to see that even 20 years later they are still chocking the engine while breaking! good times!
What is the effect of choking the engine under braking?

Nice idea! We have plenty of those engines :D
This looks like so much fun!!
yes shure my friend ! best karting thare is ! :D

real kart and nice drive! the rpm are... two theth under for me ;-)
thankyou!, this is indeed real karting, just love it ;)
Why you put your finger into that hole from time to time ? Its to keep the engine hot ? 🧐

You don't back off at all under yellows do you, is that good?
It is until someone has their legs amputated
U don't have to be fully off the throttle, just a little bit

how fast they go these karts???
120 or so
