It drives me nuts when so called journalists write negatively about this show. They complain about the patriarchal society, the fact June never gets away and anything and everything that goes against their social justice ideology. Its a fictional story, Gilead is as much a chatacter as the actors, it heavy oppressive structure literally keeps you on the edge of your seat If June left there there would be no story that needed to involve Gilead, she needn't look back. I am also tired of them saying this is the direction we are headed in this country, the fearmongering of these people is lunacy. Its a fictional story that was well written, well filmed and very well portrayed by the cast. They were even complaining that June told Emily to call her daughter by the name Serena gave her, as if they do not understand why she did that. Serena loved her so much that she did the hardest thing possible, she let her go and she could have screamed and they all would have been taken. That is why June did that. People are so simple sometimes.
