i think a laser would be used for measuring the distance from the camera and a fixed point(corner of the house, corner of a kitchen island/cabinet) to get an ideal angle for shots. that's a guess though i'm not sure what it's used for exactly. where did you find the information for their budget kit?
I never got one for my business. I don’t see where it would be used. It is for the room measurements on floor plans. The CubiCasa app does an incredible job with the measurements as long as your phone has lidar (iPhone 12 and up) If I’m wrong, someone please correct me!
