I am trying to play as the US in the World Cup with Bologun on the squad. I updated the rosters for the national team but can’t figure out how to change the selections for the World Cup. Is this possible without creating a fake World Cup?
I don't think so. It seems as though the WC 23 mode is kept very seperate to everything else. I was also very suprised it didn't allow you to add your own created player to WC23 mens, but you can with womens!

If you've put him in a team already you should be able to pick him as a 'real' player. Otherwise, the game mode is intended that you create a new player when starting.

If you're playing world cup mode that won't work. It should work in kick off if you follow vid carefully. Make sure you don't update squads via online when launching kick off as that resets to the current known national teams.

Could be limited. Created players are designed to play player career and get improved as you play the mode.

Make sure you don't update sqauds with online squads before playing. If you did you'll need to add them again.

Ask EA. I guess the WC mode isn't fully integrated through the game so only certain play options are possible.

Try adding a new player as per the video. If you launch world cup mode it typically messes up existing players and sometimes deletes them entirely!

If you’ve already created the player you can’t adjust attributes again. Only on a fresh build.

The vid answers this. You can play kick off or standard tournaments, but not the new Qatar World Cup mode. That's still not possible.
