RRR is a great movie that showcases India. I think all these years India has been sending those Socio political dramas that west didn’t find anything fascinating. He said in a IIT Madras talk that Mahabharata will be his last project (most probably a TV Series like GOT ), He want CGI Technology to evolve more and become cheaper to make it possible (CGI work) in short period. I think we cannot expect Mahabharata atleast in next 10 years. May be in 2030's. (He is 48 now may be when he turns 60).
His next movie is with Maheshbabu shot both in Telugu and English (No Hindi this time 😅), a action-adventure which is Indian-rooted James Bond or Indiana Jones type Movie.

The thing he says about constantly upgrading himself is not something he just said to sound cool. If you go through his filmography chronologically you will see the constant upgrade in front of your very eyes. I remember seeing Eega in college and thinking wow you can make this kind of movies in India ? How can you top this movie. Then he came out with Bhaubali 1. I was like okay , let's see how he ends it. And Bahubali 2 was even bigger and better than the original. Then came RRR. It has been an incredible journey and I would not doubt his creativity anymore.
Still the film federation of India chose a Gujarati movie with minimal reach which might have an amazing story but what's the point if no one in the jury has even seen the movie! 😔😔

Why do compare RRR with KGF? Both are totally different movies set in a totally different era and characters. You can't get the grittiness and swag of rocky or a villian like adheera and garuda in RRR or the amazing action scenes in RRR and naatu naatu in KGF
RRR warmedup the audience to KGF2 which came a month later. KGF2 also had KGF1 to set the expectations where as RRR came all alone when everything was cold..
KGF is way better than RRR
