  • Diogo Jota calls Liverpool injuries '100 times worse,' expressing frustration during absence.
Diogo Jota has lamented his ongoing struggles with injuries, raising doubts about his availability for Liverpool's last game of the season.
Despite scoring 15 goals in 32 appearances this season, he has been absent since sustaining an injury while scoring in Liverpool's 3-1 win against Fulham last month.
Initially considered minor by Jurgen Klopp, the injury has kept him out for over three weeks, marking his third extended absence this season. Jota, from Portugal, has missed 23 out of Liverpool's 57 games this season due to injuries, a recurring issue seen in previous seasons.
His determination to represent Portugal in the upcoming European Championships remains strong, despite the latest setback potentially extending his absence to a month if he misses Klopp's final game as Liverpool's manager against Wolves.
Expressing his frustrations, Jota highlighted his ongoing misfortune with injuries.
"I had a knee injury earlier this year and then I returned, only to get injured again," Jota told Shaun Murphy, the 2005 World Snooker Championship winner, during a feature for the World Snooker Tour at the Crucible.
"It's unpleasant. Yeah, sometimes (it's unlucky). It's incredibly frustrating, especially when the team relies on you.
"You feel like we're contending for numerous titles and you're unable to contribute. That's extremely frustrating. It's incredibly tough (watching from the sidelines) - much worse than actually being on the field."
