Excellent job with your Ffarquhar layout! It’s an amazing replica, and it was nice to see a visual of the operation sequence as well! I’m thinking of modelling an Elsbridge layout in N Gauge (based on the Rev Awdry’s track plan), and this has given me a lot of ideas for operating potential.
This is very nice! Not going to lie it was a bit entertaining seeing you have some screw ups with the magnet system; and there's a reason I don't bother with remote coupling systems like that. A couple thoughts. I know you said you're not going for an exact replica of awdry layout in timetable and I completely understand that, but there are few parts of his sequence that I adore that I'd love to see added. For one, he sometimes had it so that Daisy would not take the milk van and screw up operations a little, which is very fitting for her character. the other is that he would sometimes have some of his other engines show up with a special and some observation saloon coaches, like Stepney or Edward. Also it was very cool to see you not only include the luggage van on Toby's train, but victoria! She's one of those very obscure Thomas characters that not many people think about, it was cool to see her. I also love that despite this being rws, you included the iconic sodor fuel tanker.
Thanks so much for the detailed comment! TBF, I see the one-or-two hands of God to undo couplings as a big win compared to the *required* hand of God to undo couplings. It's the sacrifice I'm willing to make ':D. I think I shall incorporate that milk van gag when I do shows. In the actual show, I had cameos from Duck, Bear, J50 Thomas, and Boco, I just thought this video was quite long enough without bunching in the 'unnecessary' cameo moves which didn't add to the wagon movement :) I grew up with seasons 1-5, and discovered RWS later in life, so I'm always keen to capture those TVS nods in the layout!
