I bought it and was too lazy to read the instructions. Wow so easy! honestly thought it would require more time. Currently waiting on the eggs to finish cooking👅
I bought one - it works great, I did not punch a hole in the egg and it worked. I used a round bowl to do my pouched eggs and worked better. Worth the price!
The pin hole should be on the opposite side. This is to help release the air (from the air sack) as the egg expands and solidifies. I've been doing this for more than 30 years!
Yes good comment DN. I have a similar unit here and it says to pierce the bottom of the egg and put the egg hole-side down. It works exceptionally well.
I received my Dash Egg Maker today from Amazon. Going to try some hard-boiled eggs tomorrow. I watched your video to learn how to use the egg maker, thanks. By the way, I got my dash egg maker for $8.00 with free delivery from Amazon.
Good video. I got a cheap one, different brand, off Amazon so after reading the book, I wanted to see it in use before I try it out and now, I'm ready! I love my Dash waffle maker to make chaffles in!! Here goes...
Thank you so much for this tutorial. We are trying it for the fist time today. We didn't poke a hole in the top of the eggs so well find out shortly if it is absolutely necessary soon!😂😂😂
I an an Egg Artist (ok n snob). People that say they won't eat eggs will eat the ones I cook. But I broke my back in a line of duty injury, lifting a BIG, heavy pot of water is just too much. This is not a gadget for me, its a life saver as sometimes eggs are the only protein I can get that day. Poached eggs are also too much drama the 'regular' way. As for omelets or scrambled eggs, THOSE i cook in a pan and my friends swoon, lol. Dash Express is a really huge help especially if lifting, pouring and washing a heavy pot are a problem. Thanks for this vid, stay safe, be Blessed
I figured the pin was to poke a hole but wasn’t sure the point since normally you do it to let pressure out and water in. I don’t poke wholes and haven’t had a issue but most of my eggs are medium
I picked one of these up at the thrift store. I only came with the egg tray. Can you do me a favor and tell me how many ounces of water i need for each egg level, soft, medium, hard? thank you!
@@DelmarvaBackyard I think they were just teasing you when your wife was slicing the eggs but you were talking, so it looked like you had killer nails lmao.
So I believe the hole is to prevent cracking but I’m not a 100%. I no longer put a hole in them. I haven’t found it to be beneficial. Thanks for watching
Since you're steaming it and not boiling it it makes it so the steam in the egg won't make it explode, like how you need to poke holes in a potato before microwaving.
@@DelmarvaBackyard The hole goes in the fat end of the egg, where the air pocket is. If you poke the hole in the wrong end (pointy end) then the white can push out.
Perfect hard boiled.....put eggs in cold pot. fill 1 inch of water over the top of the eggs. Turn on high heat bring to boil. Once it reaches a rolling boil turn the HEAT OFF cover with lid and set timer for 10 mins. PERFECT!!! hard boiled eggs every time Now peeling is a whole other story LOL
Call me old school but I pour hot water in a pot and let it boil. At the same time pour hot water on your eggs so they don't crack when you drop them in the boiling water. When the pot is boiling, go ahead and add the eggs and add a pinch of salt. Give it 5 minutes and you got yourself some great eggs. If you want them soft play wound with the timing.
I got mine off Amazon, and despite following the instructions perfectly, the buzzer goes off way too fast and I always get undercooked eggs. It seems that the water evaporates much quicker than what is needed for eggs to cook. Any ideas or suggestions why this may happen? Faulty unit?
I'm sorry but I have never had any issues with the unit so I don't have much in the way of troubleshooting information on it. I'm sorry yours isn't working out.
@@laithsu I've found that the measuring cup that comes with it, is incorrect. I used the 'omelettes' marking and my omelette was liquid inside. I'd suggest putting more water in than you did originally and see if that works. For hardboiled eggs, if you fill the whole cup, and have 6 eggs, it goes through the exact 16 minutes it mentions in the book and the hard boiled eggs are perfect. I haven't tried with less than 6 yet.
Is there any way you could post what is on the measuring cup? I lost mine and don’t know how much water I need to cook different amounts of eggs to be soft, medium and hard eggs. Since the company disappeared, I can’t order a new measuring cup which is a nuisance. Thank you
@@DelmarvaBackyard welcome sir. the opposite of pointy side. the purpose of it was to put a hole in the "air sack". If you open it you will see there is an empty space. I also learned that in the egg cooker videos. When I boil egg in the past years it usual burst which is really frustrating. lol

takes way to long to cook the eggs, to few at at a time, and cleaning gadget is time consuming. what ever you safe time not boiling in water, you will be spending washing and rinsing and organizing the gadgets components. for around 5 more minutes on high setting, I can boil around 5 times the amount of that.
I see your points, and think like that too... however this thing works perfectly. It's the first time i have success peeling eggs. Its worth wiping the heating unit, throwing black egg tray in dishwasher, hand washing the lid. Honestly!!
I just got the dash express rapid egg cooker. It says it has an automatic shut off, so I’m curious if there’ll be a ridiculously loud alarm on this one. It’s suppose to cook them in 7 minutes. I’m using it now in preparation for dying Easter eggs.
That is so different from my experience. I just wash my lid and other accessories like I would a pot. Then I wipe down the cooker easily. My eggs always come out perfect too. I do hope it stays that way.
I didn't hear a warning Bell telling you they were done and I didn't hear a warning Bell turn off which is what you said it does it turns off. So if I did not take the eggs out of the cooker and I just let them stay there and I went out of the house would the pan be burning????????????
It plays a song type alarm. The water evaporates into steam, that is how eggs are cooked. The cooker is still going to be heating until you turn it off. The alarm is loud, so more than likely you cant miss it. I wouldn't leave anything cooking in the house unattended.

Can you just cook a couple of the eggs in it at a time ? Want to make soft world but not that many at 1 time

2 tablespoons soft
3 tablespoons medium
4.5 tablespoons hard

This one doesn't have that kind of alarm.
