Welcome to the "weekend warrior" segment of the kayaking community. It's not so bad. You'll get to spend inordinate amounts of time on social media, scraping together a crew willing to drive many hours, both ways, to make a two-hour run on some little-known creek. You'll bookmark the hydrology section of the weather service's web-site, which you'll scan incessantly, hoping the gage for that creek stays high enough until Saturday. You'll know it's Sunday evening by the smell of the gear drying in the bathroom. You'll wait until Friday night to pack your gear for the next trip, only to discover a new hole in your drysuit, that you need to be patch before morning. Fun times...
I think it's would work pretty well if you have some good rivers within a 5-6 hours drive but Paris is definitely not ideal. But in the end I'd rather not sleep and spend two days on the river than stay in the city.
The event was only sponsored for 10 years by addidas, so unless they have another sponsor in the pipeline guessing not at the moment, not saying that it won't come back in few years when someone else can organise an alternative event at otiz
@@HanrgyHippopotamus the whole event was given a 10 year sponsorship by addidas and was the idea of white water kayaker adventurer Olaf Obsommer who organised and filmed this event, unfortunately I don't think they are willing to keep this event going anymore, perhaps you would get more info from contacting Olaf? He has his own UA-cam channel and is a legend in the white water kayaking community, bringing some spectacular footage of epic adventures on the hardest white water on the planet

@@NouriaNewmanKayak top notch lass, love your videos and you inspire me
Awesome job Nouria 👍👍
Damn, I wanted to race in sickline when I'm older
Why are you using a break down paddle??
Fits in your bag so it's easy to travel ;)
You didn't forget a hydrophobic lense cover !
No more sickline. Are they moving it or is it over.

Should be called the 'sweetlines' the way this woman paddles.
