See, unit digit means the last digit. And if you have a number just make pairs by taking the first two numbers as one pair and the rest all digits as second pair. If you have a number whose answer will be in decimal so, take the nearest number you know of as a root. Eg. 27root = 25+2 square

It's applicable as 5184 is a perfect square...Unit digit is 4, so it can only be of any no. of unit digit either 2(coz 2²=4) or 8(coz 8²=64)...So now consider 51..it lies between 7² and 8²..We take 7 and multiply it with next no. 7×8=56 which is greater than 51...So we consider 2..(We had the choice of 2 or 8)..Hence your square root ans is 72...Hope this helps
