  • In this vlog discover with me the surroundings of Quebec in Canada
We go to Montmorency Falls crossing the superb Beauport district to Île d'Orléans where we will visit the village of Sainte-Pétronille
    Montmorency Falls:
You can get there by bike or by bus
If it’s by bike, the 40-minute journey takes place on a route very well laid out for cyclists.
You can take the opportunity to visit some adjacent streets because you will cross Beauport which is one of the 6 boroughs of Quebec City
There are a bunch of beautiful houses on quiet, peaceful streets.
If you prefer to go there by bus you will have to take the 800 (every 10/15 minutes).
From the Palais station there are only 25 minutes by bus which separates you from the “Des Rapides” station which is its terminus
Continue along the same road for a bit and you will come across a bridge with great views on either side.
At the end of this bridge, a little further on your right, there is the entrance to the park (even for pedestrians)
Once inside on the right there is a passage to continue the route but before going there continue at the end of the path, the view of the waterfall is impressive!
You should know that from the height of their 83 meters, they exceed Niagara Falls by 32 meters (51 meters)
You can take a photo from below but know that the staircase is made up of 480 steps
    Île d'Orléans:
The only way to get to this island is by car, taxi or bike (1h15 bike ride from the Palais station)
Of course you can go there on foot but it’s very long
The circuit is very well laid out for bicycles
I still advise you to take an electric bike which will allow you to more easily tackle the 10% climb of the “Côte du Pont” once you arrive on the island.
I advise you to go to the village of Sainte-Pétronille at the end of the island which faces Quebec City.
Don't expect one in a center, there is just a main street lined with beautiful houses that runs along the river (it's the "Royal Path" which goes all the way around the island)
A little before arriving at the chocolate factory (you can also have a hot chocolate there), turn to the right, onto rue Horatio-Walker, you can take a walk along the water
A little further on your left, almost at the exit of the village, I suggest you take the "Chemin de l'Eglise" which, as its name indicates, will take you to the Church of Sainte-Pétronille with its superb cemetery.
Then you can go to other places on the island such as Saint Pierre, Saint Laurent, Saint Jean or Saint François along the superb road called the Chemin Royal
On the other hand, I do not advise you to go to Village-des-Anglais, as I did, because there is a large 15% slope and the houses are hidden in nature.
In any case, it’s a very nice walk that I recommend.
[Travel carried out only on foot and by public transport]

Thank you for your kind message. I live in France and, yes, we find edible snails. However, in Quebec, I don't know 😋
