I don´t know who does the German voice-acting for your intros but it´s on point, must be a native German speaker for sure. Much better spoken German than in many Hollywood movies.
I bet he's taking it from German dubbed Movies, Animes or TV-Series. Almost everything in German TV is dubbed. So finding some N:CIS Episode where they have a hostage situation wouldn't be an issue.

I was just thinking yesterday, 'I haven't seen Ron Jeremy in any of Garand Thumbs' videos in a while, or any time travel. Did he just stop doing that?' I'm glad to see that the immortal, time traveling, arch nemesis Ron Jeremy story continues.
Had a HK-93 which was the semi-auto civilian version back in the "80's. They had some really cool accessories for these, and I had them all: fixed stock, collapsible stock, slim-line fore-end, regular fore-end, and the bi-pod, which retracted into the stock fore-end. Also had the Timney set-trigger which was really cool!
I remember a company (Brethren Arms, i think)building these in 300blk , used stanag mags, bolt hold open, and ar style mag release. $4k was too rich for my blood, though.
Here's the big issue, and why no STANAG HK roller gun is particularly reliable, except for the godawful G41 ("Frankenstein's rifle"). ARs have cartridge guides built into the upper/chamber area, while STANAG mags are double presentation and feed straight. HK53s do not have these guides, and their mag is tapered towards the front and top, to provide a somewhat uniform feed position. To get a STANAG magazine to work well in a 33/53 type design, it will need a custom feed tower/insert. Even then, rounds will still occasionally get jammed into the trunion instead of the chamber. This causes not only stoppages, but also results in bullet setback. Mean if/when a user tries to just reload/rechamber that round, it's going to produce higher pressures than intended. Ultimately, a STANAG compatible 33/53 isn't going to be a reliable fighting weapon. Ask yourself this; "if it was really *_that_* easy, then why would HK waste so much time/money on completely redesigning the gun into the G41?"
Kudos for being not only being aware of this, but making more people aware of this gun. SAS had some in NI, seem to remember some UK Close Protection Details using these early on in Afghanistan, but overall an underappreciated gun before its time - very compact 5.56mm gun in 80-90's - most compact rifles/PDWs being post 2000's.
The Hk33/Hk93 also has the option of the earlier developed inherently buffered BCG, which allows you to utilize MP5 stocks that, unlike the much larger elastomer stock plate buffers found in G3 and Hk33 stocks, have much smaller elastomer stock plate buffers, including the 5 pos retractable stock, a la the MP5A3 and MP5K. My PCS33 (Hk93 clone commission built by Jeff Walters at Parabellum Combat Systems) has the buffered bcg, and I run B&T's 5 pos retractable MP5 stock. It's definitely a vibe, I love it.
As a German speaker, I really gotta know. Do you have the actual dude who does most of the voice over for German television read those lines? If not, that is an incredible job by the voice over artist sounding super official. Absolutely love, makes me laugh out loud every time.
@@denniss4452No, it was not. The book I have is an encyclopedia of weapons and vehicles used around 1990 or so. Really cool stuff. I have the sea power version, too.
What really killed this weapon was the Picatinny rail. and that the HK was not attuned to going that direction because of the Charging Handle configuration. It could not resurge since we are seeing RedDot Thermal Hybrid devices which do away with the need for anything but a Flashlight beyond the Receiver area above the action. And also, the resurgence of High Sighting for Gas Masks makes the DRL system head back up to market resurgence.
The H&K 53 was the preferred weapon of the DSS and then later the U.S. Marshals used it for their high risk felony warrant division for a short time in the 90's. Then in the Australian SBAS,,they used it for a few special units.
The Brazilian Air Force still uses the HK33 for training recruits, ceremonies and even guarding perimeters. It's old but it's so cool to see them still rocking after so long. For real operations they use the SIG 551 though
The fact that you actually used a proper german voice actor and not some American who had 2 years of German in high school makes this sooo much better than most of hollywood's depiction of Germans. Thanks for the video and greetings from Stuttgart (No i don't own a Porsche sorry)

19:30 The reason the charging handle folds on rifle caliber HK's isn't to keep them from getting bumped, it's because they're built in levers that cam the bolt carrier back with mechanical advantage. If they were straight like an MP5 you'd need to crack them with a hammer to get the bolt to unlock, the guns work entirely on the principles of mechanical advantage and leverage which you need to overcome the same way the rounds do to get the action to cycle. It's basically like a teeter totter with one short side and a fat kid sitting on the long side, the bullet's gotta lift the fat kid by pushing down on the short side and you're just lifting him by his belt, both are a workout but one of them needs the Hulk on TRT to get done.
Surprisingly good analogy actually. At first I was just like "WTF is this guy on about", but the more I thought about it, yeah. That's basically accurate.

As a native German speaker, from what I’ve heard, it sounds impeccable. I’ll have to go back to the initial eps with the voice, as there _may_ have been an error or two, but likely not.

Your dad advice come just in time for me as my wife gave birth to our daughter just a couple days ago. Love it, such a sweet time
A couple of my GI joes from 1980s had the 53s as their primary weapons and I had always wondered what type of gun it was as a kid when I was growing up thank you for bringing back so many memories
I have one of these!
I had the thought last night “I’d like the MP5 a lot more if it was in 5.56” because my love for HK came from the G3 (assault rifle in Fallout 3) and here we are
have you shot a HK weapon?
Wait until you find out about the actual thicc mp5 the HK51, or the belt fed G3, the HK21.
Also if the name ends with a 1 its 7.62 NATO and if it ends in a 3 it’s 5.56 (except for the G3 which is the German army designation of the HK91 style rifle)
Technically the Fallout 3 "Assault Rifle" is a CETME
@@dark2023-1lovesoni yes, however a CETME and a G3 are 99% compatible so it’s pretty much the same, albeit it is the worse rifle or at least my own personal experience with it.
@@CoryMp3I always compare shooting older hk roller locks to something like a Chevy square body.
Super attractive, functional, and nostalgic. But at the end of the day they’re not as good as you remember them being.
That said I still prefer nostalgia most of the time, it’s just not always functional or cost effective.
This was my weapon whilst serving as a COP team member in Northern Ireland.
Very robust plus we used to have the double mag fitted for quick reloads 👍🤙
You had me at "we'll talk about that during the talking part of the shooting" 😂❤

You know one thing that I would love and I’m sure others would as well is specific items linked in the description of the video. Whether it’s your surviving in the mountains stuff or range videos it’s nice to see what you’re using. Not necessarily so I can copy/paste certain kits or packs but to give ideas for my own kits and packs.
Anyway just a thought and I love your videos! Very well done and extremely informative. Keep up the good work!
Watched for Mr. Thumb.
Enjoyed for gunstuff.
Liked for weapon toss @ 1:00
I remember a company (Brethren Arms, i think)building these in 300blk , used stanag mags, bolt hold open, and ar style mag release. $4k was too rich for my blood, though.
300blk was my first thought for use....beautiful grail piece

You guntubers need to come together and make a movie. That drop into the bus looked more smooth and cinematic than some dynamic action in movies, and it was just a school bus.
I want all the gun tubers to get together and make a police academy or super troopers spoof it'd be freaking great
@@79huddy There's enough of them and they're all very talented on camera. Small films are made for about $50,000. It's honestly not a terrible idea if the script was good. They've been basically honing in characters that are parodies of themselves for years. The characters already exist, they just need to get together and write it.
I know Brent0331 does some little short films
I think the school bus part worked because it *was* a school bus. It took a common feature (escape on the roof) and used it.

I have 2 HK93 in my collection. In the mid 1980's. FFL couldn't get rid of them. Why I bought 2 at the time. Mine has a longer barrel (16") and a normal stock on it. I can't recall what I paid for them. But at auction I could easily get over $5K for each. Mine are all HK OEM parts and wasn't from a builder kit. I also have a bunch of FN-FNC and one is select fire. I have a really extensive collection. And I would say that the end of the 70's to the end of the 80's was the best time to purchase firearms. No background check. You could purchase select fire....though you had to register a select fire or select fire sear. You could purchase and walk out of FFL that day. FFL would register said firearm for you. I still have a Glock 17 Gen1 and Gen in the original tupperware box. The Gen1 has never been opened yet.

@@CantVoteYourWayOutOfTyranny BS background was in 1992 and passed as the Brady Bill or something like that. And yes any select fire, short barrel, etc. was registered. But you didn't go thru these hoops to get it. Your FFL filled out a simple form for you and you walked out the door. All these gun cases going to the supreme court could easily be resolved. If the jurist simply repealed the 1968 GCA. And said it was unconstitutional. Then most issues would be revolved...i.e., no more infringements.
