    I might have missed it, but:
    Pressure gauge before filter might help notify time to clean/ replace them. My pool filter says 10 psi increase is the right time.
    Nice video!

    Love this idea, however I have a question for you. How does the water come from the filters to the hydronic system to provide hot water in the system? Do you have a separate heat exchanger for the closed loop?

    That's complicated but really neat! I guess there's a drain on the tank underneath and you periodically empty and refill it? Do you have to use special soap and shampoo? And most important of all, who gets to service the "Tubshroom?" -Burt in NJ

    • @WanderfulRevolution
      @WanderfulRevolution  3 роки тому +2

      The Tubshroom is alllllllll Sandy’s job! We have been tweaking the system since and currently don’t use soap... just water and friction... we are going to try and use some biodegradable soap to see if it works

    great videos, very informative. my only concern is the water tank building up a layer of sludge over time. I guess this could be avoided by running clean water after a shower for 5 minutes so that water in the tank is clean and not dirty? How have you found it?

    I don't see if you installed a sediment drain in your water reservoir tank. Heavy solids will create a sediment that will accumulate in that tank, which will actually help with your filtration. However you still will need to be able to drain those sediments.

    How many gallons of water do you recirculate before you have to dump it and refill with fresh water?

    • @WanderfulRevolution

      We put about 5-6 gallons in our tank. We are having some problems controlling soap suds so we are each getting a shower off the 5 gallons, then we need to change it. Looking at lotions for soap that doesn’t suds as much. It’s definitely still a work in progress

    How does your shower compare to youtubers " Snow and Curt" recirculating shower? Thanks!

    • @WanderfulRevolution
      @WanderfulRevolution  2 роки тому +1

      Our system is similar but we don’t have the ability to flush or recirculate the water back into the tank to keep it from freezing. That being said we avoid freezing weather and physically wash the filters and drain the system. We wanted to make our circuit as short as possible to keep the size of our holding to a minimum. Thank you for watching!

  • @cristihutan
    @cristihutan 3 роки тому +5

    best way to do this is, to divert the water when soaping and rinsing soap let it drain to gray tank then the valve will direct the water to be recirculating.
    this way with 2 gallons you can really do a normal shower( short) then chill out with 10 minutes water only shower and no soap.. simple. valve would do the trick

  • @fstop5666

      @WanderfulRevolution  3 роки тому

      Hi! Thanks for watching! Yes! That exactly it. No separate hot water tank/heater. The one system provides our heat and hot water. On demand and tankless. It uses a glycol system to transfer heat. We have some videos on it for you to check out!

    Is there any reason someone couldn't run a line into that secondary tank with a manual valve and pump over water from your main freshwater tank to fill it? It seems like most people seem to plumb it isolated like this and I'm wondering why.

    Hi, great video, I'm doing a similar recirculating shower but not sure how big the water tank for it should be...did you work out there was an optimum size considering the weight issues ?

    • @WanderfulRevolution
      @WanderfulRevolution  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks so much!!! We have a 7 gallon tank and we put about 5 gallons in it. The 5 gallons was more than enough. We had a little over half in the tank while the shower was running. So I think 5 gallon (18 liter) is pretty sufficient. Of course this would depend on how long your water circuit is. The shorter you can keep it the less water you’ll need.

    don't you need a p-trap in the drain?

    • @WanderfulRevolution
      @WanderfulRevolution  3 роки тому +1

      We aren’t plumbing experts by any means, but our understanding is that p traps are basically to keep gases and odors from coming back into your house from the sewer systems. P traps aren’t generally used in the RV industry. They do often use a waterless trap called a hepvo. We used one of those on our sink. We didn’t use one on our shower because we don’t feel like we should have an odor problem there since the water will circulate for a few minutes after showers are complete, so we will
      Basically have filtered water in our tank. Of course if we find that there is an odor problem, we will just add a hepvo in.
