Cool video Mark. Love the store. Both my pets are buried in a pet cemetery. Some stones and graves are extremely elaborate as people go all out to celebrate their beloved pets.

Vegas has lots of offbeat, interesting sights and places. Haunted tours etc.. I don't see that you went to Zag Bagans Haunted Museum. He purchased artifacts from haunted places.I would like to see you feature that. There's Goodsprings down the road it has The Pioneer saloon which is supposed to be the oldest in Nevada and haunted. Carole Lombard died in a plane crash nearby. I hope you do more of these, Thanks!

A long time ago we had a cat Mandarin that lived 22 years and we put him in a pet sematary the couple that was running it passed away and the son didn't keep it up and lost the property. A pipe broke and the whole thing flooded. It was up to the pet owners to buy the monuments. Now I got a weird urge to go try to find that place. There were beautiful horse monuments. We did a cross with a carved sign,all wood probably gone by now! My dad and I used to go. One time at night, never again at night! 🙀😱🧟♀️🕷️

You’re correct it’s about a quarter-mile from where you parked to the most distant graves. The space is somewhat limited in that direction, don’t walk too far and don’t get your shoes wet. If you see the stream a little ways north & east, where the vegetation grows, that’s the city’s (somewhat) treated wastewater, run out to evaporate into the desert sand. The stream gets deeper as you get closer to the city. Don’t wade in it. 😅

I personally think it would be awesome to do a pet cemetery and have a sign like off the movie. Although my just shy of 14 yr old dobie I had cremated and she will go with me. I don’t believe in pet hauntings, as much joy and love they bring us when they are with us here I just hope they join us in eternity. ❤

I wonder why they let the pet cemetery go like that. That just leaves the one here in the north. Missing out on some big money. Now that taxidermy store 👀. I'm trying to think what I would think if I walked into someone's house and saw a deer in a jar. Or the upside down neon red cross. Just saying. Its great you get to share these adventures with family and then us. Means a lot. Thank you.
It wasn’t “let go,” it isn’t an official cemetery maintained by the city or any official entity (this wasn’t even city-owned land until the 90’s)-those pet owners died. If you’ve ever been out in this desert, you know the summer sun and year-round wind takes a toll on any material left to sit out in it.
Another bit about it: the city does recognize people still bury their pets out there (thus the sign citing a BC ordinance as he’s leaving); our prior Mayor tried proposing a huge ossuary as an alternative in 2022. It was expensive and there was almost zero public interest, we haven’t heard another word about it since.
