One of the strangest facts about Bondrewd is one that many people hear, but is almost impossible to fully accept: He LOVES the children. He loves Prushka like a daughter. He loves Nanachi like an apprentice and maybe even a peer. He admires Reg and Riko. He just ignores those feelings of love because of his indomitable desire to further humanity's progress. He is incredibly selfless- he gave his own life and humanity to be his own white whistle. But he is also cruel beyond comparison
"Two sides of the same coin" sums this up perfectly. He performs the most selfish actions for the most selfless reasons, love is answered with hate, kindness with cruelty. He isn't human anymore from his actions but everyone else becomes inhuman compared to him in motivation.
Nah, that “love” doesn’t exist, he’s using them to fulfill his own goals. I’ve watched enough psychopath interviews to know that people can throw that term around without ever being able to feel it. It’s purely for his own benefit with no emotional attatchment.
He is someone I call "necessary evil" as much as I hate him with every fiber of my being, I can't deny that he has contributed immensely to understanding the abyss and even to the delvers themselves
He loves them in his own way. From what I’ve seen his own “way” is sacrificing for the benefit of mankind. He’s willing to sacrifice anyone or anything, including himself, in order to further scientific progress. He believes the whole to be worth more than the sum of the parts. Thus he believes (maybe even subconsciously) that the sacrifice of someone’s self for the greater good is the ultimate expression of love, even if it is forced upon the other person
As someone who reads the manga , I can't express enough how amazing the world building in made in abyss is and the story keep getting better and better
I really loved Bondrewd's character, it was incredibly consistent. He truly cared for all of the kids he turned into cartridges, especially Prushka. He remembered the names for every hollow in the dead end of the sixth layer and even remembered their dreams of the future and what they wanted to be. He was willing to make any sacrifice to understand the curse and to find a counter for it. He was and is still at his core, a scientist.
Even tho he did in a way care for them the means don’t always equal to good. They chose to go into this abyss it’s not something that as now is needed or they have to.
@@theninthheart4736 of course but once more a choice. Which is my point and he in a way sells them dreams and at the end just uses them. I don’t think his evil just to dee in his ways to change.
Nanachi didn't know about the beetle infestation because they had very recently spread to the field and created a nest. Gyarike(flamethrower man) states this and says he was sent to exterminate them. The significance of this is that it shows Bondrewd's crew actually carries out activities to make the abyss safer for others on top of making massive discoveries due to his utilitarian fueled drive convincing him it's necessary to sell drugs and sacrifice children if the ends justify the means.

Correction about the white whistles (the artifacts, not the people): white whistles are made from life-reverberating stones, so Riko actually can't use her mother's whistle at all. Even if she tried, it would be completely silent, as the stone that made the whistle was formed from the sacrifice of someone who cared for Lyza, and who Lyza also shared that same love for. That's why when Prushka decides to become Riko's stone, it works for her. She chose Riko. And as later revealed in the manga, Prushka is still sentient and able to observe the world through Riko's senses, along with speaking with her within the mindscape. The white whistle artifacts are still alive to some capacity, and therefore they choose who can use them. ALSO the Umbra Hands are not white whistles, they are black whistles :) Edit: Nanachi also isn't immune to the curse of the abyss, as they state it to be so in the manga. They are simply able to see where the curse is weak or even nonexistent, allowing them to avoid it. They cannot ascend from the 6th layer in this form and retain the humanity they have left, sadly.

No relevance to the video but I have to share the romantic meaning behind Bondrewd's title because I want to: Sovereign of Dawn, Bondrewd the Novel. The cave raider that seeks further beyond conventional wisdom using Novel knowledge and methods. He is the one that can and will bring Dawn upon the darkness that obscures the Abyss. No matter what he must do, the Abyss will have Dawn shine upon it. He is prepared. That's the embodiment of pure amoral science right there.
This movie was so good totally destroyed me though after reading the manga up to this arc then watching the movie and seeing what happened to pushika its so sad
So because he loves his children, he’s a good dad? Is that all it takes? How low are your standards? He literally kills and experiments on children after manipulating them into trusting him.
I remember around the upside down forest arc ozen said sm abt lyza being trapped w something else in the abyss cuz the handwriting isn't hers or sm like that

Nanachi didn't warn the party about the bugs because she didn't know about them. They usually aren't part of that biome and are a invasive species that should not be there. Sure they were there for like 60 days, but just because she lives in the upper levels in the goblets of giants doesn't mean she goes lower then that.
You prolly shoulda put how to beat Bondrewd in the title, since trying to beat the "curse" much less Abyss itself would be a tremendously different story Though with that said, trying to avoid the Umbra hand at the beginning would have been pointless, since Bon already knew they were coming due to his connection with Nanachi. So if anything the shown way was a good one since they got some information out of it. Similarly there isn't any known way to get to the 6th layer than Ido Front's elevator. You could make the argument that hypothetically Reg's arm cannon could blow a hole through the sea of corpses if he had enough a charge, but considering how stupid huge/deep the sea is its sketchy at best. And even then not only would they just have gotten crushed upon landing at the bottom due to no gear to slow their fall down with, but the hole in the sea would have quite likely closed up well before they were through as well. Then you also have even the detail Bon himself mentions, you need a white whistle specifically attuned to yourself to use the elevator. And only place you can get them (although admittedly only revealed a bit later) is at the Ido Front; the whole "given to most accomplished delvers" is basically bogus to hide the grody truth of their origin. Its unclear what the ritual fully entails, but as far as we know it can only be done within Ido Front. Simpler said, there isn't really any avoiding Bon nor Ido Front. What comes to leaving Reg there after capture and trying to go back to get Ozen for help, its a nice idea on paper but basically impossible in execution. They were still within 5th layer so ascent would have been possible, but even more agonizingly difficult than getting down to begin with, particularly due to the absence of Reg's extending arms. And then even after that lengthy trip upward, by which time Reg would have been chopped to pieces 7 times over and incinerator probably fashioned into relics into Bon's suit, what guarantee would there have been for Ozen to be at her joint much less have any desire to help? Mitty lost her mind upon the transform, or "humanity" rather. The soul was trapped inside and helpless til Reg kablammed her away. Zoaholic isn't actually what upholds Bon's "transfer" ability, cause the soul/mind/whatever division was already done. So even if they destroyed Zoa, they would have still had to beat Bon otherwise, and lord knows how many times too Heeeey, don't be calling best fluffball Meinya a "sausage" D8 Well the white whistles have an absolutely colossal amount of secrets, so its full well possible the true origin of white whistles aren't shared until senior whites deem the new ones ready for the knowledge. Or perhaps even not at all, cause they consider a crucial part of becoming a white to be learning the truth. Either way if I'm not mistaken, the aforementioned ritual (done on purpose or so-so like in Prushka's case) is what turns the sacrificed person into a life reverberating stone. Then the "whistle" itself is further shaped out of that. Its not quiiiiite as simple as simply dying to become the stone either, there is implication the "whistled" person may even be still alive too, retaining memories and being fully conscious of what's going on around them. To my understand Bon doesn't use the kids/canisters as energy or anything, he wears them to take the "curse" in his stead, only difference was that Prushka's cartridge due to her love of him was what allowed him to obtain the blessing instead of simply avoid the curse. Bon himself is simply monstrously strong like all white whistles, and has a selection of spectacularly potent relics integrated into his suit to bolster his prowess further. Fun fact, its full well possible Riko's mom may have been even more bustedly OP.
I do think they must tell elite cavers because with how many deaths there are down in the abyss and how easily Riko could have missed Prushka's last gift. Just imagine how many other elites might have mourned to much to even think to look for something like that had they not been told, especially when it's probably hidden in a corpse of there best friend or partner.
@TwojaUlubionaRyba Funny thing is I've written longer too lol. I'm pretty sure my piece addressing some perceived plotholes in doom eternal in somebodys video was well over this.
Fun fact prushaka nad bondrewd do actually love eachother and hellno can you say that bondrewd is someone who doesnt think propperly because he experimented on himself first and sacrificed him self in the name of science and he doesnt hate the children he experiments on he loves them atleast he is better than one person in heavy metal alchemist
Honestly, I like Bondrew. He's most definitely a "necessary evil" and far more complex. Nobody /wants/ to make sacrifices. Nobody likes to make sacrifices and most certainly nobody wants to /be/ that sacrifice. But people like Bondrew knows that it /has/ to be done. Because if nobody does, nobody gets anywhere. For better or for worse. It's easy to hate him and pass him off as a psycho mainly because we want to hide our own shortcomings and we aren't in the same situation. But he truly does love the kids. He remembers their names, what they look like, their likes and dislikes, and their hopes and dreams. For him, they live on within him which is probably how he makes peace with himself for what he does. And if I recall, he does not deny any wrongdoing when Nanachi calls him out on his actions. He lays himself out plainly and accepts the hatred Nanachi expresses towards him. Hell, when push comes to shove, I think I'll be willing to sacrifice a "handful" of people to save the planet if it came down to it. Even on a way smaller scale. Will I like it? Absolutely not. But if it means others can live and otherwise be in ignorant bliss, then so be it.
Just to addon, Bondrew doesn't feel remorse for his actions because he genuinely can't. His white whistle is the result of the sacrifice of his own humanity if I remember correctly, but I may be confusing with a youtuber review I watched recently
Y'all do know why Bondrewd doesn't have his humanity right? Everyone keeps saying Bondrewd is a villain he's not the curse of the abyss took his humanity, Ozen also doesn't have her humanity and she would be a villain too she was about to kill Reg
Season 2 title was the Golden city under the scorching sun, and I thought when I saw the cover that this is the time when they will reach the end of the abyss... And man, it was only the sixth layer, which means we are ahead of something that will surely blow our minds when the group reach out the seventh and the bottom of this unique and well built world. What an anime
Let's face it...von drew didn't care about the abyss or humans or anything...von drew just wanted to become a furry...and in the end he found out that the curse of the abyss is literally a way of becoming a furry...
I was hoping you to make another one and you did thanks this is the anime addicted me out of any anime it give huge plot twist wow thanks for making this summary
"just get Ozen to help!" is so braindead. Ozen has no reason to trek down to Bondrewd's Creepy Basement to help them and Bondrewd could probably take her anyway. "made from the flesh of dead children" That's where you're wrong, my friend. They're still technically alive inside those cartridges.
Bondrew's concept is amazing... People don't beleive that he truly loved and cared for the 5th layer orphans, even remembering their names and dreams. He sacrificed his own humanity to discover and understand the curse of the abyss. A mad scientist who once had true feelings but lost their humanity and composure and became a true Abyss monster himself. (I still hate him tho)

We've just learn who sacrifice himself for Lyza a few chapter ago but still don't know nothing about him.. and yes that's a man but it's not Torka.
Also in made in abyss first movie in the first 2 minutes we can see that Lyza already have her white whistle when she talking with her husband
@@laststardust4474 ohhhh
@@BrokenGlassMuncher bondrewd used himself to sacrifice for his white whistle
Lyzas white whistle is named Doni
You gotta love the fluffy things. They're like a cute tiny ray of sunshine in the dark sickening brutal traumatizing terrible horrible unforgiving abyss.
26:53 Bondrewd: Oh? You're approaching me?
Reg: (Violent, overcharged screeching)
Tfw bondrewd’s voice actor is part 4 antagonist yoshikage kira
god, ive read the manga so i knew what would happen, didn't cry when i read the manga but sobbed like a little baby during the movie 😂 They really nailed it with the animations, the voices, the world building, its perfect they really didn't mess up at all telling the second part of the story. I can only assume the next part of Made in Abyss is only going to be better.
I saw the trailer for the next part, the idea that they really animated Riko taking a shit makes my day 🤣
Dude you forgot about the MUSIC
This is one of the rare anime that actually gets close to 10/10 in my book
The group is adorable! The team who made the anime did a good job making the characters i haven’t watched it all yet
Yeah such a wholesome anime
No relevance to the video but I have to share the romantic meaning behind Bondrewd's title because I want to:
Sovereign of Dawn, Bondrewd the Novel.
Despite the inaccuracies pretty good video. I like it when people talk about this series. Bondrewd is a pretty good dad.
AHH BOROSHKA
Didn't he end his own daughter to experiment on her?
Yeah bro he would be an amazing father to u right?! Gl dying b4 12 lol
So because he loves his children, he’s a good dad? Is that all it takes? How low are your standards? He literally kills and experiments on children after manipulating them into trusting him.
@@NotFantiher death was nesasary for riko to get her white whistle. It's why he told his daughter to go make friends with the girl.
This is by far my favorite anime/manga of all time can not wait for the 6th layer adaptation
I think In the end,the mother might not love her daughter anymore and she’ll probably be evil and kill one of the three kids
I wouldn’t be surprised. I very much doubt lyza is gonna be just chilling and hug them when they reach her tbh
I remember around the upside down forest arc ozen said sm abt lyza being trapped w something else in the abyss cuz the handwriting isn't hers or sm like that
Bondrude is basically William Afton.
Using dead children to achieve immortality and always coming back.
He is seeking becoming a furry not immortality!
@@redsaaryn3832 technically they both become furries
He purple too
Man mah happiness is just on another level after seeing your post earlier this time you know I was just calculating how many days I've to wait for you to upload a new video and here you are with a new one!!
the moment when that plant is destroyed is when he knows he's going to hell for everything he's done and that's the one thing it's been evading this entire time for all the torture he's done and to what hell will do to him let’s just say you better bring popcorn because it’s coming to be one hell of a show
Nanachi didn't warn the party about the bugs because she didn't know about them. They usually aren't part of that biome and are a invasive species that should not be there. Sure they were there for like 60 days, but just because she lives in the upper levels in the goblets of giants doesn't mean she goes lower then that.
This anime is most definitely in my top 5 love this
istg its so funny the way that rikos like "Oh hi prushka lets be friends!" and nanachi is like "I dont F**king trust you for a second prushka"
Waiting for you to cover season 2 when it drops, as a manga reader i can say that its the best manga and anime i have ever watched/readed
You prolly shoulda put how to beat Bondrewd in the title, since trying to beat the "curse" much less Abyss itself would be a tremendously different story
Though with that said, trying to avoid the Umbra hand at the beginning would have been pointless, since Bon already knew they were coming due to his connection with Nanachi.
So even if they destroyed Zoa, they would have still had to beat Bon otherwise, and lord knows how many times too
Heeeey, don't be calling best fluffball Meinya a "sausage" D8
Well the white whistles have an absolutely colossal amount of secrets, so its full well possible the true origin of white whistles aren't shared until senior whites deem the new ones ready for the knowledge.
Holy fuck was trying to scroll past this and i ages at least 3 months doing so thank you
This comment is longer than my moms last marriage
I do think they must tell elite cavers because with how many deaths there are down in the abyss and how easily Riko could have missed Prushka's last gift. Just imagine how many other elites might have mourned to much to even think to look for something like that had they not been told, especially when it's probably hidden in a corpse of there best friend or partner.
My man wrote a 1028383 page essay in one comment
@TwojaUlubionaRyba Funny thing is I've written longer too lol. I'm pretty sure my piece addressing some perceived plotholes in doom eternal in somebodys video was well over this.
I have been hoping a continuation would happen. Tysm and keep up the great work.
Fun fact prushaka nad bondrewd do actually love eachother and hellno can you say that bondrewd is someone who doesnt think propperly because he experimented on himself first and sacrificed him self in the name of science and he doesnt hate the children he experiments on he loves them atleast he is better than one person in heavy metal alchemist
much better
The abyss is the easy part compared to the boss rush you can fight afterwards
I swear if I was in a survival situation with this guy I'm dead
Seeing how their making a game based on this series it would be interesting.
i know this is 2 years ago but there is one 👍
Note: Bondrewd’s canisters are not made from the flesh of 'dead' children. That’s the entire point: they’re still very much alive.
They're not his slave, all the umbra hand work for him in their own volition
Bondrude is not afraid to use himself in his experiments
finally the next part
thanks guys for making this 😄😁
i just watched your video about how to beat "made in abyss" yesterday, such a coincidence you releases the sequel today
How you survive any anime, so just be the main character and you beat it ever time easy
Tatsumi & Lelouch : how decide that!!
Survive yes. But can you handle what will be thrown at you? Anime or not, main characters of most stories undergo emotional and physical turmoil.
@@animalhead6222 I have no emotions and feel no pain
Bondrewd *is* the "Uncle Lovecraft" in the fan nickname Uncle Lovecraft's Funtime Murder-Hole.
Made in abyss is definitely the best thing you all have recapped
Love the videos great to sit and watch and to listen while doing chores .
By far the best video on this channel I swear this is sick!!!
I have been waiting for this video for so long
YESSSSS MORE ABYSSS!!! Also this would make a damn good game
Yeah, a descent into an ancient land, where only the most strong, psychotic, and messed up people can survive… yeah, it would be an amazing game.
I was hoping you to make another one and you did thanks this is the anime addicted me out of any anime it give huge plot twist wow thanks for making this summary
You forgot the question when are reg and Rico getting married :/
Wow kinda cool to have started watching this channel since the start
What about, how to beat "Higurashi: when they cry"?
Seeing grifith using his green whistle felt appropriate haha
"just get Ozen to help!" is so braindead. Ozen has no reason to trek down to Bondrewd's Creepy Basement to help them and Bondrewd could probably take her anyway.
"made from the flesh of dead children" That's where you're wrong, my friend. They're still technically alive inside those cartridges.
Take her in what way? 😏
There was a movie?! I thought the Show just ended, and that was it.
Noooo they got a movie and season 2 Comin sooon! 🔥 whooooo 🎉

@@HTBA Yeah!🥳🎉
One of my favourite anime ty for making part 2
What do Bondrewd and William Afton have in common?
They always come back and loves children.
Lets go part 2 of the abyss!
Honestly one of my all time fav series, the abyss is sooo interesting! Like an anime National Geographic 😂

Ozen wouldn't willingly come if you went back to retrieve her, unless she had other motives that benefit herself too.
Wow amazing story telling definitely gonna have to check out this anime
You know it's a good day when htba(how to beat anime) uploads
Dang you guys are putting in the work this one's really nice
I have the single best solution to beating the Abyss. Don’t go into the Abyss!
There. I just won.
How much PTSD did they get just by wanting to know where her mother is
Yesss finally. This channel is theee best!
I have been waiting for this video from the last time you posted abt the abyss
I literally was here last night looking for a new or upload i missed 🙏🏾 thanks
How to Beat Corpse Party tortured Souls
With one step. Don't play game!
The anime is nothing like it was supposed to be. I get so upset about. They should have a least picked one of the game endings.
Bondrewd: "the rumble of scientific triumph"
Reg: "spinzaku"
Bondrew's concept is amazing... People don't beleive that he truly loved and cared for the 5th layer orphans, even remembering their names and dreams. He sacrificed his own humanity to discover and understand the curse of the abyss. A mad scientist who once had true feelings but lost their humanity and composure and became a true Abyss monster himself. (I still hate him tho)
You should make a video on the newest season of made in abyss (golden city of scorching sun). This season is more F***ed up than anything i watched. Love the content great work
"Adorable snot looking mushroom"
Best description ever lol
THE LEGENDARY CHANNEL IS BAAAAAAAAAAACK! LESS GOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Bruh, flower-raider is, like, super chill. Like, hospitable even.
27:30 who would win? robot with redbull or purple guy
Yesss ,I've been waiting for this video for ages
And it was totally worth it😂🙌
the worst part is that he actually loves the children he uses for his experiments because his moral compass is messed up to the point that he thinks using them for the sake of progress despite what happens to them is love.
such a well written villain that i love to hate
YES. Ty for granting my request
Yess!! Finally a part 2!!!
Always a good time chilling with HTBA
Always a good time havin u over here SquidLordo 💪🏽

I have been waiting for this for awhile and didn't realize it happened
Part 2 is here! WOOO
WE NEED THE THIRD SEASON
season 2 is not even out lol you high af bro xd

the demons in blue exorcist? The anime is so underrated in my opinion
This is more of a, "Complaints about the characters decision in made in abyss." And just to say, Ozen wont do shit. Why would she even help? And also why were bondrewd and others fighting in the first place 💀
I would love to see you do how to beat Code Geass or how to beat Demon Slayer
Thank you so much for uploading..I love you guys😊😊😊😊😊

I love this channel because I just not only watch the impressive anime without the annoying inside-drama, but also I hear it through the voice of this talented-yet-annoying narrator and his wonderful ways to survive each challenge. (In an Hannibal Lester's way, but still...)
