So in a way no one can fully understand what you've gone through. I learned this phrase (I'm 18 now but have been in therapy since I was 5 so I've learned a lot) to replace I understand. "I hear you." I use it a lot when someone comes to me to rant or if we talk about heavy stuff. It's a game changer because in my own opinion, I feel like "I hear you" is more comforting and nurturing then "I understand' and it really feels, to that person, that you are listening to what they are saying.

I have watched the 2 episodes Eddie did probably 5 times each already. I'm obsessed with the story and concept of this game. Patiently waiting for Eddie to hit 50k because I'd love for him to continue this series. It deserves so much more recognition. I've tried continuing the story by watching other gamers play but they have completely disregarded important key details. Like Virginia's song. No one understood the importance of it to the story. I love how understanding Eddie is, and how he goes out of his way to understand and try to relate to how people feel and see things, even if it is a game. It gives me a sense of comfortable tbh
It wasn't really Vergina's fault. High-end Anxiety, depression, and fear can make even the strongest person break. The fear of being judged by something that you had no control over can run the human mind in so many ways. Her mom didn't make it better by dragging her out to all those places. I remember having stitches on my face (Dog attack) and mostly kept it covered with a bandaid. I'm this day I can still smell the specific kind of band-aid she got and the rubbing alcohol she used to clean it with. Scars may heal, but the trauma and fear that came with them don't ever go away. She should have gotten Vergina into counseling at a young age so that she could have grown up, knowing that she wouldn't be judged on her looks and the scars. Scars are meant to show you've been through something but you've made it out alive, that you survived.
Yup, reminds me how i witnessed my dad get slapped by my mom at a young age. I feel so much guilt since i was the reason he got slapped and how he pointed at me and yelled at me. Now my parents are married and much better i guess but remembering that memory makes my entire mood change-
The mother just forced her to go to the pageant and maybe did not understand her condition and don't know how to deal with it, her mother tried to encourage her, like in Eddie's own words "You can't live sheltered"

My mom had saw me watching and I didn't really u derstokf what happened until I got much older and heard the story of what happened that it finally made sense to me

The fact that I somewhat relate to Virginias story made me think about my trauma. My parents would drag me outside constantly and forced me to go around people when they know I have trust issues and face dysphoria. No one understands each other because everyone goes through things differently. It can be similar but its never the exact same way. Everyones trauma is different. It can be worse or not that bad, but its still trauma.
Same,I have issues being around people from bullying and other issues but no one seems to understand. My family Constantly forces me to interact with people even when I explain I have issues with people. I am sensitive to loud noises and physicall contact, so I tell people not touch me without my permission. This is cause I got attacked from my bullies and have scars. But no one listens and then acts all upset when I tell them not to. Also, one time, I couldn’t handle it. I was surrounded by too many loud noises from people talking and shouting, I started hyperventilating and trying to cover my ears. I told people to stop making noises and they wouldn’t stop, saying I was over reacting.

This hits hard. As someone who fears judgement and people looking at me all the time, laughing, judging. When others wonder what anxiety looks like. Its Virginia's story. As a therapist, you should never say you understand. Ever. Because you fucking dont. The drowning feeling of fear, you will never know how that feels for me, him, or her, or them. ANYONE. Seeing Eddie approach this in such a way was so so uplifting.

I never thought I'd relate so much to a character - Like, I once had a bad schizophrenic episode and started picking at my face. My mother made me go to school and out after it. I hated it, I felt like everyone was staring at me. Now these have healed, they're lost of scars on my face from it. But when someone asks, I blame it on acne. :)

I have a lot of thoughts on this, mostly that this was cathartic and really calming, and the fact that, like everyone's being saying, Eddie defending the truth and pointing out that the therapist really didn't understand hit home. But the parts that really got me are the references and parallels in this part. In Virginia's storyline as you go through you expect the mannequins to be creepy, evil, downright pain inflicting, but they are really just those sometimes nameless or faceless people who are always trying to lend a hand, even at the risk of always seeming like a threat. The path to the final mirror and what I think is a Coraline reference, was amazing tho. Like the parallels of the movie and Virginia's path of this sort of portal/passage way into a "better place" or to the end of the perceived suffering was beautiful. It's an unfortunate reality that even in the end she didn't feel truly seen or heard, and even though the therapist said he saw her, actually saw her, I still wish he'd have said "I see you, and I hear you." Because that's all she really wanted. Not to feel like a monster or like people saw her that way, to for once actually feel beautiful in her own skin... Idk I need to stop before I cry, that song at the end already got me in the feelings so, I'm just gonna go to sleep.

Man when you play the record and you hear her words you can feel the absolute pain and agony saying the whole world is crashing down on her (admittedly) even I started choking up. Such like a heavy burden to carry on in life like that...this game really captures and holds you for a moment.

The fact that I somewhat relate to Virginias story made me think about my trauma. My parents would drag me outside constantly and forced me to go around people when they know I have trust issues and face dysphoria. No one understands each other because everyone goes through things differently. It can be similar but its never the exact same way. Everyones trauma is different. It can be worse or not that bad, but its still trauma.
Same,I have issues being around people from bullying and other issues but no one seems to understand. My family Constantly forces me to interact with people even when I explain I have issues with people.
I am sensitive to loud noises and physicall contact, so I tell people not touch me without my permission. This is cause I got attacked from my bullies and have scars. But no one listens and then acts all upset when I tell them not to.
Also, one time, I couldn’t handle it. I was surrounded by too many loud noises from people talking and shouting, I started hyperventilating and trying to cover my ears. I told people to stop making noises and they wouldn’t stop, saying I was over reacting.
Hell yeah, I am so pumped you're continuing the series and I hope to see you finish it. Truly a hidden gem of a game.

i have played this game a few months ago(i'm on my 3rd playtrough to try to make it 100% completion) and i'm actually very happy to see eddie actually like it this much

This hits hard. As someone who fears judgement and people looking at me all the time, laughing, judging. When others wonder what anxiety looks like. Its Virginia's story. As a therapist, you should never say you understand. Ever. Because you fucking dont. The drowning feeling of fear, you will never know how that feels for me, him, or her, or them. ANYONE. Seeing Eddie approach this in such a way was so so uplifting.

I never thought I'd relate so much to a character -
Like, I once had a bad schizophrenic episode and started picking at my face. My mother made me go to school and out after it. I hated it, I felt like everyone was staring at me. Now these have healed, they're lost of scars on my face from it. But when someone asks, I blame it on acne. :)

I have a lot of thoughts on this, mostly that this was cathartic and really calming, and the fact that, like everyone's being saying, Eddie defending the truth and pointing out that the therapist really didn't understand hit home. But the parts that really got me are the references and parallels in this part. In Virginia's storyline as you go through you expect the mannequins to be creepy, evil, downright pain inflicting, but they are really just those sometimes nameless or faceless people who are always trying to lend a hand, even at the risk of always seeming like a threat. The path to the final mirror and what I think is a Coraline reference, was amazing tho. Like the parallels of the movie and Virginia's path of this sort of portal/passage way into a "better place" or to the end of the perceived suffering was beautiful. It's an unfortunate reality that even in the end she didn't feel truly seen or heard, and even though the therapist said he saw her, actually saw her, I still wish he'd have said "I see you, and I hear you." Because that's all she really wanted. Not to feel like a monster or like people saw her that way, to for once actually feel beautiful in her own skin...
Idk I need to stop before I cry, that song at the end already got me in the feelings so, I'm just gonna go to sleep.

Man when you play the record and you hear her words you can feel the absolute pain and agony saying the whole world is crashing down on her (admittedly) even I started choking up. Such like a heavy burden to carry on in life like that...this game really captures and holds you for a moment.

This game hit me like a train wreck. It will most definitely hit a bunch of people close to home. It's really nice that there is a game showing mental awareness, it makes me feel happy though. Honestly, I was on the verge of crying as I watched you play this all the way through. It shows how family can affect a child, like how Virginia's mother forced her to do so many things that built up little Virginia's anxiety. And I'm so happy you said "No you don't" when he said that he understood. No one can truly understand another's feelings or trauma the same way another did. There may be people with close trauma's, but not fully. I myself have been through some very F^cked up sh!t, and when someone says "I understand" it makes me break down more, and I was a little cheered up when you said that he didn't. And the fact that I myself have troubles looking in a mirror b/c my slight scars from me scratching my face non-stop b/c I feel ugly, I don't fully understand Virginia but I do a bit. It's why I wear make-up to cover it up, and a mask as well.
