Thank you! I grow oregano in my apartment and wanted to learn how to harvest and regrow it. Thank you I am very pleased with what I grew and can’t wait to harvest and share with my neighbors.
Thanks for the video , it really makes sense. You are a good teacher. For a long time I have been thinking on how to propagate and store my oregano. Thanks once again.
Great Video... I have a large Greek Oregano plant, and can't use the fresh stems fast enough.. I also didn't know I could take cuttings and propagate them.. I will use the same method as your video on propagating Rosemary cuttings, which worked successfully for me.. Thanks for posting..
I like how you prepare the oregano. Especially that you clean it. Only if you just crush with your hands and store, it smells so nice! I love lemon oregano. Its the best!
it's taken me years and years to finally be able to germinate enough oregano and keep them alive long enough to have oregano around. i know it's easy to grow when they're established. but i grew them from seeds and the seedlings are ridiculously tiny and hard to keep alive in the heat of the philippnes. the easier cuban oregano is stupid easy but that stuff is too strong. i wanted greek oregano and have probably wasted 10 seed packets over the years trying to get plants established. marjoram was the same for me. but finally i found a place that sold live plants. so i'm good with them. for the marjoam i have a whole planter box 10 feet long that i'm trying to keep alive. i just hope they don't drown in the rainy season that's coming real soon.
Seeds do germinate, but hard to keep them alive and grw into plants. ANd heat or warm climate is actually best, but maybe you should just propagate once you are successful growing some seeds. Just don't over water, or the seeds will rot.
I'm just getting interested in oregano so you have been a big help. I didn't realize it could tolerate cooler weather so that is a big plus. thank you! :-)👍
Last season my raised bed froze over, covered with snow for a few days. Everything died, but the Oregano came back. They grew so much that I almost forgot they were almost killed by the snow.
This is great as I'm starting to grow mine and was told you need to tie the herbs up, place them upside down in a paper bag. This seems much easier. Thanks!
No need to put it to water just stick it direct to soil after 3-5 days the roots will show belive me I have a farm of oregano and why your oregano leaves is to small?
Thanks, I will try to do this with my oregano. Have you tried making oregano oil? I made coconut oil by putting dehydrated coconut in my juicer, so I think if you put the dried oregano leaves in a juicer that you might get some oregano oil.
You were using the wrong blade for grinding. You should have another blade a shorter flat blade which is for grinding spices and whatever. The long raised blade is for smoothie.
How to grow dry and grind youre herbs 😆💨 but i got one question i got 2 iss ice scream scorpions in the greenhouse and they had buts i take them al off but they dont grow or but annymore does that take some time or do i have to do something?
Basil is very easy to grw from seeds.. I kept one plant for 5 years, INDOORS. However, Basil is not good when it comes to drying, loses its aroma, but maybe still maintains the benefits. I rather use fresh Basil.
Hey Khang, I love your channel. Do you have Chiltepin pepper plants? What do you think of crossing them with the Carolina Reaper to make tiny Carolina Reaper peppers? :o
What type oregano is that? I have some vulgare growing from seed I got from Baker Creek Seed but it is not growing up like yours is, it wants to run low to the ground. thanks Khang.
No need to dry in the sun. I recommend never drying anything in direct sunlight. I have a room with darkening blinds and a ceiling fan for herbs and curing peanuts and potatoes. Other things may require a different approach like using a dehumidifier but nothing should be dried in direct sunlight as it can deplete it of vitamins especially vitamin A.
I like the water method because it's less work. If you choose to put them directly in soil, you must monitor the soil to prevent drying out. This could be some work if you're not around to check on it.

Hi where do you keep the herbs while drying?? Pantry? In front of window? Covered??
You were using the wrong blade for grinding. You should have another blade a shorter flat blade which is for grinding spices and whatever. The long raised blade is for smoothie.

Please share your process. Thanks!
What is the shelf life of dried oregano?
Does the same method work for basil?
Not sure, basil is a bit more picky, and harder to keep alive.
Tyler Kunkel yes all kinds of basil propagates just as easily
Basil is very easy to grw from seeds.. I kept one plant for 5 years, INDOORS. However, Basil is not good when it comes to drying, loses its aroma, but maybe still maintains the benefits. I rather use fresh Basil.

I bought these as Greek Oregano, not sure about the type because the label didn't list.
Do we dry it in direct sunlight or in the shades? Mine turned all brown after drying it in the sun. Ur tips

@@chrissede2270 Thank u so much for ur kind tips & the response. Will do it accordingly. Thanks again
How's business? Btw do you talk to your plants?
do you ever use a grow hormone for cutting?
I have before but I find it's not needed for herbs.
does this method work for thyme?
Yes, it will work on many herbs with a hard stem.
Khang Starr Thank you very much. Another question: is putting them in water or directly into soil a better method?
I like the water method because it's less work. If you choose to put them directly in soil, you must monitor the soil to prevent drying out. This could be some work if you're not around to check on it.
Khang Starr Thanks a lot.
well oragino grow in zone 3
Do you think this same methods works of mint and sage
Yes, it will work for Sage as well. I have a bunch of Sage that I may do a video on soon.
