  • Ever wondered if there was a better way to manage our solid waste other than sending it to the landfill?
Roland Tee a retired auditor came up with the solution by inventing The Asher, a machine that turns almost all kinds of garbage you put into it to ash.
The Asher does's burn waste like a conventional incinerator, instead it bakes the trash in high heat thus turning them into ash.
The ashes can later be used as fertiliser or mixed with other materials to make sand bricks.
Although it does create toxic emissions Tee, who has spent most of his life working in the water industry, created a filtration system to prevent these emissions from being discharged into the atmosphere, thus making it environmentally friendly.
The Asher has been deployed in 13 countries so far including Cambodia, Vietnam, Singapore, Qatar, Bahrain and Australia. Pamarai Sdn Bhd is the sole distributor of The Asher.

I have seen a 2-tonne model being launched in Gopeng, Perak. Emissions were full of dark brownish fumes, possibly remnant dust particles. In actual usage, the treatment capacity turned out to be only one tenth of what the inventors / vendors claimed it to be. After 4 mths operation at below par capabilities, it stopped working altogether. As I last saw it, that Asher is still lying dormant there. Can the inventors / vendors offer a responsible and truthful account before launching into more hyped publicity and marketing?

Not to shoot down a potentially great local idea, but not all the waste is organic. He put in a battery pack. The ashes will contain toxic material which is not suitable for plants or to be disposed off in the river where it could kill fish. And msians throw everything like tyres, mattresses, plastics, styrofoam, etc etc. Even in ash form it's not organic.

@@natsuyouchan2 Let me give you the 'basics' of heat treatment. You have straight incineration (burning). Even in burning you have various technology e.g. stoker grate, cyclone furnace, high temperature (plasma burning) etc. You also have non-burning-heat-treatment such as pyrolysis and gassification. BUT whatever the technology (especially last two) IT IS NOT TRUE THAT YOU CAN JUST THROW EVERYTHING INTO THE SYSTEM and expect solid to be the useful by product. IT IS ALSO NOT TRUE THAT ANY NEW INVENTION HAS COME OUT INRE MSW HEAT TREATMENT least of all the above claims...
Ahhh yes output fertiliser. Recycled biomass converted to fertiliser (whether from combustion, biodigester OR high temperature reduction) cannot be graded "food-grade" (i.e. can be used to grow food-grade crops) unless vigorous QC is implemented to remove toxic raw material input e.g. batteries, plastics etc. The video EXPLAIN NOTHING it just throw around a lot of buzz word without explaining anything to a techno geek like me. Try googling and wiki all above (incineration, plasma burning, gassification, pyrolysis etc) just to have a basic understanding. The NET is full of "high-tech" scam e.g. "Terano" or the magic bottle which extract water from the atmosphere...

I can understand he cleans fumes. But how on Earth ash can be free from toxic components? All kinds of poisonous fillers are there in some plastics, in e-waste!!! After baking them, they're in form of ash, aren't they? This fertilizer is super dangerous, isn't it? (I really hope I'm wrong). But at least I agree the ash can be mixed with cement in making building blocks later. This is one positive side.

No burning, but got heat generated (magic), scrubbing only use water can have alkaline flue gas discharge (must be highly treated alkaline water need to investigate) lime or caustic no where to be found, plastic waste inorganic can be used as fertilize including batteries with heavy metal (did not study that in school), no dioxin or furan discharge as per EPA standard (need to go back to environmental school for my Phd), 10 years warranty ??? (Must buy or money back). It is a wonder machine no more landfill, dumpsite, no air pollution, cheap ???.

This tech isn’t new. Any experienced internal combustion engineer can build this type of incinerator. This guy is basically burning the garbage , water it down to make it less poisonous by reducing NoX and CO, and filter whatever gas comes out and dump the leftover. I think the process is called thermobaric. Lots of people build this all over the world but they rarely commercialised possibly due to economics and environmental problems. Remember any protest over incinerator in Malaysia’? They are protesting this machine being build near their homes.

Not burning. Dia bukak pintu keluar api... polution control sistem bukan senang nak maintain. Air dalam scrubber tu cepat je kotor and kena slalu tukar. Practice industry kalau ada scrubber, mesti kena ada waste water treatment. Carbon filter lagi la cepat flock

Any toxic residue as a result of the heating? We should first reduce our waste, reuse and recycle best we can before this step. We live in a world of excess, this habit must be changed. Otherwise, more trash, more machines, more technology, more money will be needed to treat all our waste. It's not logical.

Something is wrong here. This is either pyrolysis or gasification (not sure which). He's breaking down the waste in an oxygen starved environment. Seems to me he should be getting some very heavy/sludgy smoke that he's supposedly scrubbing into "clean air". He's using some of the syngas to run the system but it seems there should be additional gas that needs to be captured or burned.

  • @ThisIsToolman

This seems too good to be true. It must work as described but a review by independent experts, including economists, would go a long way towards selling this to the various municipalities in the USA that are stuck with using transfer stations. There has to be a reasonable payback on the 1000 ton/day unit so the city councilmen can say they’re saving the taxpayer’s money. Unfortunate as it is, it’s about the money...
