Pile 3 made me cry, so much of it resonated. The bit about giving it time and maybe coming back to it does give me hope, maybe when the pandemic ends and we can more easily meet in person we can actually talk about whatever might be here.
i spent a long time still in pain and not able to move on because i couldn't let go of hope. If it's supposed to be allow them the chance to put the effort it. I think this is probably the only reading I can think of where I felt an overwhelming sense of peace. I got pile 3, and pretty much everything you discussed resonated. I try to keep a healthy amount of skepticism in tarot card readings considering how accuracy is never guaranteed. But something about this one felt like it really reflected current reality. Not only did it give me hope, but it also helped me to understand my current situation better, or bare minimum give me the tools to reflect on what has happened. I have also begun to look at myself and some of the ways in which I could do better toward the individual that I've been thinking of. I think I'll discuss some things that have been weighing on my mind with him tomorrow and apologize for the ways in which I've come up short in our friendship. As for how things will develop, I just need to allow him the space to think and grow. It's up to be me to support him and to be understanding if we weren't meant to be.
Edit: We ended up having a discussion today. We cleared the air on the things that weighed on both of our minds. I think I've come to terms with seeing the beauty in our friendship and being ok with things not taking a romantic direction. It's a lot less complicated and makes things easier for us both since we both can focus on being friends and not any of the messy in-betweens. It was an inevitable discussion and it went really well.

Pile 1: I can't even begin to explain how much this reading resonated with me. This person is someone I worked with in my hometown. It always worked out that him and I never got to work together because I'd go off to school whenever he'd come back, but this past summer we finally met. Him and I connected so instantly, for the last month of summer before I had to leave for school again, we talked 24/7 and completely started to fall for each other. He had just gotten out of a long (toxic) relationship three months prior, and I was moving 3 hours away in a couple of weeks, but we still tried to make things work.
