  • On this episode of ID the Future from the archive, host Eric Anderson begins a conversation with biochemist Michael Denton about Denton’s 2020 book The Miracle of the Cell, part of his continuing Privileged Species series exploring nature’s fine tuning for life. New research keeps unveiling ever more ways in which this fine tuning exists, from the cosmos to the atoms of the periodic table, and even to the subatomic level of quantum tunneling. Says Denton: "The miracle of the cell completes the overall fitness paradigm that unites galaxies with atoms in a vast web of fitness for life."

    I have been waiting for a book series like this my entire life. Denton seems to have only grown better and more confident of design.

    When will the miracle of the cell be released as an audio book?

    The Law of Biogenesis states that life only comes from preexisting life. That means the origin of life has to be an eternal living source. What do we know from documented history that fits that qualification? Only God.

    God on the day before Day One (not Day Zero as Zero came from the Hindus via the Muslims): "I want to create a Universe to host human life and I need a whole set of arbitrary constants to accomplish this task. Some of these constants must be extremely precise with very low tolerances."
    God several thousand years later, "I am authoring a book of Scripture, infallible. What value of Pi should I use? An integer seems fine. 3 will do!"
