what i meant by what i said was it’s just scary on discord because there’s stuff that has happened to me ( im under the age of 15 ) and it wasn’t the best experience, it made me uncomfortable

Especially in gaming ones, the amount of times I’ve gotten weird sexual comments is more than I can count
I'm sorry that's happened to you. I am an older woman, and dealt with that during early internet days. It greatly disappoints me that it's still such a problem now. And you're right. Doesn't matter what kind of server you're in on Discord, there's generally a lot more 18+ (afaik) and there will be predators. If I may, some pointers I still follow to this day:
- You're a human being, not an object. If they're pushy, leave. If they degrade you, leave. If they only want to talk about sex, leave. This isn't even pedos, this is just people. Anyone who treats you disrespectfully is not worth your time. If they don't care about who you are, they are not worth your time.
- No pictures, no voice, no video, NO PERSONAL INFORMATION OF ANY KIND that could be used against you until this person has been vetted by trusted sources and friends. If those you already trust don't approve, that person doesn't pass.
- An exception can be made for voice chat only if you can get in a group call with your trusted sources and friends, and observe how this new person acts and how your friends react.
- Keep one-on-one interactions shallow, light, fluffy, and minimal until this person has been thoroughly vetted in a number of situations that has tested their patience and their treatment of you, their treatment of others, and your friends' assessments.
When someone makes me feel guilty, it's a major indicator that they're pulling some manipulative BS, and my guard is UP. So these pointers have gotten me past a lot of traps that people have set in life. There's many kinds of predators out there, all looking to catch people in a vulnerable, isolated state. I hope this all helps you like it has for me. The world we live in sucks. I wish it was better. I wish that I could do more to change it. And maybe if enough of us show that the behavior is unacceptable, it will change. idk. But all I can do is just get by in it right now.
