- Comedian and podcast host Russell Brand recently reflected on three months since converting to Christianity and the challenge of feeling like Jesus Christ is far away. “I’ve been a Christian now for three months,” he began in an Instagram video posted. “Sometimes I find it quite difficult; what I mean by that is that I feel like Christ is far away. I don’t feel the intimate connection of Christ.”

There's a song we sing called "My Eyes are Dry"
My eyes are dry, my faith is old
My heart is hard, my prayers are cold
And I know how I ought to be
Alive to you, dead to me
Oh what can be done with an old heart like mine?
Soften it up with oil and wine
The oil is you, your spirit of love
Please wash me anew in the wine of your blood.
Thank you, Russell! You are resonating! You never know where or with whom.
Russel, I left the 'feelings' behind. God told me in Romans 8:9 that He lives IN me. He promised me He will never leave me (Deut. 31:8). I live alone with no family nearby. It's just me and Jesus. He did this for me so that I may grow to know Him better and rely on Him more. I am ever so glad He did! He is the family and best friend I deeply rely on every day. I don't need to 'feel' His presence. I just need to trust His word and His promise. In doing this He has taught me to love Him more than I could have possibly ever imagined. Correction: It's Jesus, me, and Honeybunch (my calico). Relax, young Believer. There is a growing up process we all have to go through. Praying for you little brother.
