For the people complaining he's not fighting every enemy, stop. I don't always fight the enemies either while playing through these games. It just gets so annoying to continuously fight the same enemies over and over again screen after screen. Sometimes you just want to continue on and continue with the story which is the whole reason most of us are here.

Never ignore enemies, destroy all of them. It's literally the best way to gain experience.
