My question is about islamic music. Like Maher Zain or Sami Yusuf. They sing about Allah and the love of islam. I listen to Quran daily and I hear islamic lessons daily al7amdulellah and islamic music is all I listen to when I listen to music.

MashAllah a beautiful collection , of logical lectures , by variable honourable speakers . Only because WE WANT something to be allowed ( eg music, riba , drinking, extra marital relations etc.) does not make it permissible , therefore we must try hard not to justifying the wrongs . May we be saved from the fitnah of "Ulma e su" and may our lives and hearts be guided to the righteous path. amen

By the way there are some authentic hadeeths in favour of music. Infact as per one hadeeth it is said that the difference between halal wedding and haram wedding is duff (or music). And non of these scholars in the video can deny what I mentioned. It's weird, I listen to music, but it doesn't make me avoid prayers and recitations of the quran. I mean, can it be haram because it contains dirty content and that it will push ur connection with Allah away? For example, I listen to lofi musics, it's just beats, but there's no dirty contents in it. I listen to music only when i'm playing video games, going outside for a run or workout, doing my homework, but I still use as much of my time as i can to listen to recitation and also read the quran. Now if ur going to explain something, please, I'd would love to read the comments but without hatred for i am here trying to understand more about this topic and yet im still young trying to profit the remaining of my time in this world to do the right thing like all of u. The guidance of the Quran and the example of Prophet Muhammad came to bring us knowledge and guidance on this. When we are more in tune with ourselves, we will be in more better position to determine what can harm us.

I believe music is Halala. Hadiths has a lot of contradictions, it's understandable if one decided to throw it away while deciding something. Now if we talk about Quran, it never talked about music. Basic rule is Halal until proven Haram. Well, everywhere I go there will always be someone that says haram 24/7. I just decided that I'll just decide it myself. I feel grateful to be able to listen to music. Yet there will probably be people that will say I am corrupted or something.
So if you ask me, if what you want to do was never declared Haram in the Quran, and it doesn't feel wrong to you, deep down it doesnt affect you in a bad way, then go for it. Just ask for forgiveness at the end of the day for things you might have overlooked.

And then you got sports broadcasted on television which is another time consumer. While I agree with the general message of not wasting time, it’s important to remember doing normal (permissible) things can also be acts of obedience to Allah if the intention is right e.g., visiting people to maintain the rights of one’s neighbour and keeping true good friends, working to earn money to provide for one’s family and spend in charity, trying to show mercy so you can be shown mercy on the Day of Judgement, keeping to what is halal etc. Though time spent on the deen specifically e.g., dhikr, salah, learning are separately important, don’t underestimate what you can do with your normal daily acts

I can respectfully disagree with this. We are not gonna sit here and call Beethoven Chopin Rachmaninoff as vulgar and haram, that would be the definition of “ignorance” and Allah disapproves ignorance. If you’re talking about hip hop specifically, in which many of the topics are about guns violence sex and drugs, absolutely. But do not drag composers such as Bach, Erik Satie, and many other legends into the category of “haram”. Do not drag Hussain al Jassmi, Abdulmajeed Abdullah, Maher Zain, Wael Kfoury and Fairouz into the same category. That is a complete disrespect. As a musician, and a pianist myself, I learn the notes, practice, and perform. But the music is not made from me. It all comes from the love of Allah. Allah didn’t grant me the talent of becoming a pianist and all of a sudden demands me to believe this nonsense of “music is Haram”, never has, and never will. You can bring Hadith OR other weak resources but Allah never claimed music as Haram.
It all depends on HOW a person uses music, HOW a person composes music and writes the lyrics. It’s about what people do with it. Music itself has no fault of its own. Jummah Mubarek.

It was also narrated by an-Nasaa’i (5614) without the additional words “for truth leads to reassurance…”

By the way there are some authentic hadeeths in favour of music. Infact as per one hadeeth it is said that the difference between halal wedding and haram wedding is duff (or music). And non of these scholars in the video can deny what I mentioned. Yes regarding musical instruments, I personally feel that it's better to avoid it, and even duff should be limited to weddings/eid occasions (by girls only).

There are many prohibitions that are not mentioned in the Quran. We've received the Quran the same way as Hadith, from the same chain of people who have passed it down. Loving the Quran and following it are two different things. Where in the Quran does it mention about Dajjal, the return of Isa. We follow the Quran the way it was understood by the Prophet's companions. If you want to allow yourself to have your own understanding, then you shouldn't have an issue with the extremist terrorist groups who act in according to their own interpretations. It's wrong.

Why do you trust the Mushaf you have now if it was written after his death, which is not true anyway. It was complied after his death, but written in bits of separate collections during his life. You'll say Allah Said He will Preserve it. Why didn't He Reveal a Book, and then we would be sure it's from the Heavens. He Chose the same men who have compiled it, and passed it down to us, those who passed down His habib ﷺ's narrations and are buried next to him. The same men who Allah Said He is pleased with.

I think I can relate. I used to listen to music constantly, even when I wasn’t listening, it was playing in my head, or I was tapping it out, or singing along. I even used to play music. For me it was my comfort, one of the few things that understood me.
Quitting alone wasn’t enough-I’d just be left with a craving and emptiness that begged to be filled. I cleared out the music from my phone, and when I wanted to listen, instead I would listen to recitation of the Quran, especially by Al Afasy. It wasn’t the same, but I kept with it. I started getting curious about the meaning, so I followed the recitation in English on quran.com.
Gradually it did something to me. I feel like the Quran can touch my heart now in ways music never could. And I have God to understand me and offer me love and hope that is beyond human power to offer.
Music still comes to mind from time to time, but I don’t miss it. It doesn’t stay stuck in my head. My friends think I’m missing out, but I feel like now I’ve found what I was looking for all along.
May Allah grant both of us patience, guidance, and success.

Look into the issue of dissociation and numbing feelings. Music, binge eating, masturbation, alcohol, drugs etc when they become an addiction usually have some unpleasant emotions as the real cause as to why one turns to these things. If possible, finding something halal (like a certain sport, new friend, new hobby etc) that brings you joy can help with gaining dopamine kicks in a halal way so it becomes easier to give up your current addiction. Also processing and dealing with your unpleasant emotions and traumas if you think you have any is very beneficial. Point is, some form of change is needed to make a sustainable abandonment of the haram addiction because the reason we have it is because if fills some sort of hole within us.

My God created the heaven and the earth. He created ALL of the world's beauty: great rivers, majestic mountains, and yes - glorious music. I detest Beyonce and Drake. But Rachmaninoff moves me beyond description. When I listen to his symphonies and other compositions, I hear God's hand at work.
My God also geve humans the devine spark that allows them to create beautiful things and the intellect with which to create them. You want to hear the voice of God? Listen to Bruckner's 4th Symphony. Or the finale of Mahler's 1st. Listen to Chopin's Nocturns - such beauty created by nothing more than a piano and the person playing it.....and by Chopin himself, of course.
I am sure the Quran contains many beautiful expressions, as does the Holy Bible. But if any of those expressions tell me that all music is evil, I know the book is anything but devinely inspired.

Vettel2011 the question is, what did Jesus really teach...to worship him? He even didn't like being praised,he clearly taught us who to worship, pray to, beg for guidance, we pray to the God, Jesus prayed to, the God he without don't showed us we needed as he too needed. Jesus was no ordinary man, born to no father, a miracle from birth....but was he a God. If we look closely with an open mind and heart, we would clearly see Jesus, a very special man, worship and pray and ask for God's guidance in everything he did, heal the sick, raise the dead, turn water into wine, all these miracles and he still said, he cannot do anything by his own will and power but by that of his father, God. Who is our father all, as he said we all are his children, is he a special child, yes, a God? No....you see we say God can do anything ,but God cannot do everything, God cannot lie. And sin, and do things humans do.Jesus clearly served God and taught us all how to do it....what came after, worshipping him, the cross, Jesus never taught any of that....
