Why is your voice just so soothing? I'm not even looking for a new bag but I love listening to you talking about it. And thanks for the escalator tip sometimes I do loose my bag going down and then I'm scrambling to grab if before others trip over it and it could be dangerous if I'm not paying attention!
Excellent review! Thank you so much. No one ever takes the time to open the pockets and explain what features are inside as well as the pros and cons of each. I have this bag on order and seeing your review helps reinforce that I made the correct decision. Oh and 5 stars for such a helpful explanation of Four vs Two wheel luggage. My instinct has always been towards two wheel suitcases for durability and when out of the country traversing cobblestone streets, and once again you explained extremely well why one is better than the other. And finally, I would have never thought about the road noise of suitcase wheels, but you have brought that to my attention and made me confident in my TravelPro purchase.
Steven, you could sell me this suitcase 🧳 with no hesitation. Your description of the product is spot on. Your voice and demeanor is one that captures the attention of your audience. Love the bag. When I become a FA I’ll be purchasing this bag. Thank you for another great video. Blessings and safe travels.
Steven Pereira I’m dead serious Steven I could listen to you all day. U have a cool way of explaining your day and life as a FA!! Look forward to your videos everyday!!
Oh my. I wish I would of came across u bcs I am also in Fll in training for u airline. Still surprised they gave an older gall like me an opportunity. My dream of becoming an fa is like a 1-2yr away. Hope I meet u soon.
Thanks for the review! I am looking to replace my 11 y/o TravelPro Crew 7 I've taken around the world. The zipper has begun to separate from the bag and I've lost a couple zipper pulls. Not a fan of the spinner bags, so this looks like it'll do nicely.
I've used mine pretty much everyday since I made that video. It's kind of limping along now. I put my bag through absolute hell. Especially the years I didn't have a car in Las Vegas. I swear evil clen evil hadn't easier time than my luggage did. But I'm a huge fan of travel pro. I can't understand why someone would spend for it $500 on a rollerboard.
Hi Steven. Just for this video, you got a new subscriber. Excellent review. I just got the Travelpro Crew Expert Global limited edition, which is exactly the same bag as yours (mine is 21x14x9), with just a few differences in the front pocket, and might even be better for you, since the pocket is roomier and opens up all the way like a clamshell, is really great for putting in a jacket or a sweater, or maybe your scarf and gloves when you enter the airport from the street and need to get all your warm clothes stored and don't want to open the bag. Regarding the rear pocket, my bag came with a clear zippered toiletries bag zipped to the inside of the bag, but you can zip it out and store it in the back pocket when you want TSA to check your liquids and not having to open the bag. There is another advantage of rollaboards vs spinners: When you are walking through some airports (I found it in Vegas, San Francisco, and Seattle), the carpeting and the irregularities in the floor make spinners suddenly stop, so you have to always be prepared and rapidly lift the bag from the handle before going over bumps. That is very annoying, while rollaboards you simply roll away and it can handle almost anything. And coming from the tarmac up to the airport floor, particularly with smaller planes like a 737, the bridge is so inclined, and some of them have also carpeting, that is very hard to roll up a spinner if the bag is fully loaded. With a rollaboard is so much easy to simply roll up the bridge. Some people say that with spinners you have the best of both worlds, that you can roll them like a rollaboard, but I think they are wrong. As you mention, the wheels are too small and noisy to make it worth rolling it. BTW, I believe the FlightCrew 5 Rollaboard got discontinued, as it is no longer available on the Travelpro website. I think it was replaced with the model I got.
I'm thinking about exactly what to buy between these two models. Is there any inconvenience while using the crew expert model? Does it tip over forward if I use J hook or expanded?
@@yerin1725 Expanded won't tip over, even fully loaded. But it'll always tip over if the bag is somewhat empty and what you put on the hook is too heavy, is just physics. I don't think a spinner bag will be more stable in this regards, and I don't know any spinner with a J hook, really. What I try to do when using a J hook is adjust the length so what I put on the hook just rests on the floor avoiding any tipping over. Jeeze, I can't wait to get back flying again.
@@MartinOcando Thank you! It was very helpful. Actually, I wanted to buy a 'flight crew5 22'' exp. rollaboard', this series are really good design, but I couldn't because it exceeded the company's size. so I like the crew expert because it had a bigger capacity than this, but on the other hand, I thought about the flight attendant 5 series looking more stable, but it's a great reference!! Thank you:))
Hey Steven thanks for posting this video...was doing a lot of research today, because my inexpensive Ricardo rollerboard purchased from Marshalls one month shy of 3 years for Initial training as well (one the metal extension bars broke clean off as I was pulling my rollerboard) on me just getting onto the tram in MCO...I did get my $60 worth, but I feel that it is definitely time to purchase a TravelPro and thats exactly what I did on our work website (while on my LGA layover) LOL.
Thanks for this review Steven. I'm debating between this 21" or the 22". I'm not in the airline business, but I do travel a bit for work within North America. Do you think the 22" model would be fine for most overhead bins on the 737's which seem to be used by United, Delta, Air Canada and Westjet for flights between the USA/Canada?
@@flightattendantsteven Its exterior dimensions (wheels included) are H: 21.5in W: 14.0in D: 9.0in. Its the smallest carry on I have ever owned. However I could see flight professionals needing smaller.
I still use the backpack, but most often when I've got a layover where I'll be spending the day in a place like New York. It's a great day pack and work bag.
TP is beautiful, but the handles are always loose. I went thru 3 of them. My first 2 years of flying. I have then been using my Luggage Works set for almost 7 years now and it’s still amazing! But I must admit, TP is so much prettier!
I've heard of the handles getting loose, but SO many of my coworkers have used Travelpro for many years with no real problem. So, I'm pretty confident in the purchase. Looking at the Luggage Works site, the only bag I liked was $400.oo. Wowsers. Maybe after I get another raise or two. LOL!!
figured I would ask you since you're probably in the airports all over the Country : I was thinking about the "Travelpro FlightCrew5 22" Expandable Pilot Rollaboard" or the 21 inch the one you're reviewing. Do you think I would have trouble fitting the 22" in my overhead storage? thanks.... be well
I don't know what I said, but I wouldn't go expandable. It's already a snug squeeze when my bag is full. It would be impossible in a regional jet overhead bin.
It would depend on the season...warmer weather i could probably pack for a week or more. Cooler weather is a challenge with sweaters, coats and stuff. But if I had access to laundey I could go for quite a while.
My rollerboard fits in every domestic airlines overhead bin. Mind you, if you are non-revving or deadheading another airline may have you gate check your bag. The few times in airline wouldn't let me carry all of my bags on board they gate checked the bag, which meant the bag would be right outside the boarding door when I left the plane.
I just measured it. It's 22 inches tall (including the wheels, but they're situated where they don't add much the the height of the bag) 14 inches wide and between 8 or 9 inches deep. It fits in every overhead bin I've ever come across, at least in the US. It might be a little too big to fit in some European airline overhead bins.
@@flightattendantsteven Interesting 44.5 linear inches total, below the 45 inch standard. I will assume the 22" version is 23x14x9.5" outer dimensions (46.5 total); that seems to be the decision point- the 21 or 22" version, given the standard United sizer box at this moment, which is 23x15x10. Thanks again for the careful review. Very helpful.
I don't have a problem with my bag tipping over unless it's really forward heavy, like with my laptop and everything in the front pocket... And then my 25 lb lunch bag sitting on top of it all.
Ok at the end you kinda said why but do others have the 22? I know the measurements don’t include the wheels so 21 is safe I just have to miss out on the extra space if they don’t really care?
I don't remember saying it doesn't go down the aisle...I mean, it has to. I couldn't get it down the length of the plane otherwise. If I suggested that, I was clearly mistaken.
@flightattendantsteven "go down the aisle on its wheels" meaning that I can "roll" it down the able... not carry it. I travel often.. usually with a backpack and a carry on. I usually put the backpack on top of the carry on and roll the two of them down the asile.
