Thank you so much for showing this, I have two Epiphones in the "inspired by Gibson " range and do not feel confident in soldering. This system is a huge improvement.
So easy - didn’t like the neck pro bucker-Alnico classic pro are my faves, both have the clips-took 5 minutes! Just slacked the strings all the way and the pickups came in and out no stress- brilliant and Damn! I love these Epi Alnico classic pros-killer
Thanks for this video. Yes, it's not hard to replace Epiphone pickups by other Epiphone pickups, but what if you want to replace them with Gibson pickups? Are the connectors compatible?
Great question! No there is more involved with swapping in Gibson pickups. This is my next video after the video I am currently finishing up. Stay tuned!
It's not just the connectors, the p/ups and rings are a little wider on Epis. You wind up using cocktail sticks/wood glue to fill the p/up ring holes and a little bit of wax stick to fill the tiny-but-visible gap. Which I didn't do because I'd rather create a home for displaced ear wigs than have wax dripping into the cavity. You could mix up some wood-or-Superglue if you're fussed about it.
If your like me and have a sg with the pick plate this isn’t helpful. There is no pick up frame, the guard is the only thing. I think there is a secret club that knows but can’t find any where
go over the tail piece. the string angle to the bridge is wild.

@@guitarswithdavid4422This I too would be really interested in! Thinking about replacing the bridge with a Burstbucker 3.

Waited to hear the difference, didn't happen lol
Lol. Sorry about that! I’m doing more videos with these pickups to compare
