- Santo Antão is the westernmost and largest island of the geographic region Ilhas de Barlavento, which is an administrative part of Cape Verde. The most nearby island is São Vicente and is located southeast of Santo Antão.

Nice vid. And digging the music too. Usually these types of travel vids have some sort of awful EDM crap. Did you notice when you were there if it's possible to rent a moped/scooter in Porto Novo? I'll be heading there in March.

Thank you! I was in Santo Antão for 3 nights. Rented a car for 2 days. It was too short. 5 days would have been better. Car rental is near the port. i paid 50 euros a day.
great! I am planning a trip now and would like to make a plan on where I should go and for how long. On Mindeo island how much would be a reasonable amount of time? I am travelling with a 4 year old and a baby so it is considerably slower travel. I have about a month and arrive on Santiago island (Paraia)
How nice that you are planning! I was first 2 nights on Sao Vicente then 3 nights on Santo Antão and then again 2 nights on Sao Vicente and then 5 days in Sal. But it could be a bit longer. Sao Vicente is also a very beautiful island, a bit bare. Santo Antao is partly green and beautiful! I would go to Santo Antao for 5 days and rent a car for 4 days if you want to see everything. Sao Vicente we rented a car for 1 day, of course much too short because car rental was closed on Sundays. If you travel with children I would take a few more days. Maybe 6 days in total?
