Yesung's voice is deeper, huskier and super emotive and he's known to be doing most of the technically challenging ad-libs in the songs so ...I think his voice is pure ART. Never ever heard a voice like that.
What I love about Super Junior-K.R.Y is the types of voices they have. You have Yesung at the very low range with his husky voice, Ryeowook has a very high pitched voice, and Kyuhyun is pretty much almost right in the middle. You really can't find vocalists as unique as these three, with timbres that match extremely well in unison.
Ryeowook has perfect pitch and Kyu has a four octave range. Yesung's range probably isn't as great, but his tone is gorgeous and blends perfectly with Wookie and Kyu. They're all main vocalists. Yesung's Beautiful Night mini album is pretty much perfect.
Sorry I just have to correct you there. Yesung has a great range esp since he's a baritone. The kind of high notes he does, esp when he belts using chest voice or in mixed but with dominant chest, is not something you often see with a baritone like him. His highest note on record we've heard so far is A5 done in mixed voice which is impressive, as mentioned by a few people who understand singing, because typically such a note is usually done in head voice.

You don't typically have main vocalists with this low of a voice and pitch, but his voice is really something special that you can't find in kpop.
I love K.R.Y as a whole. I love yesung dark color tone so much because how emotions in his voice. But kyu and wookie voice are beautiful too. All of Super Junior members have a different tone but all are beautiful.
To me Kyuhyun's voice is still the best among the best. He got 4 octave range. He can do Rock song. He can Rap / RnB He can sing song that is meant for 11 people and sing it flawlessly (wanna one -Energetic) He can do classical musical. And of course he can sing ballad as he himself called the ballad prince.
So, in super junior songs, especially ballads, kyuhyun is generally the backbone since he has such a broad range and is the best vocalist in terms of technique. Experts have also stated that he is one of, if not the, best vocalists in kpop. Meanwhile, yesung and ryeowook (particularly yesung in the later half of the song) are the ones who provide emotions to the song. Yesung has always been an emotive vocalist, and you can hear that most in his solo albums as well as in all of Super Junior's ballads (not to say kyuhyun doesn't, but you understand what I mean right haha). Ryeowook has perfect pitch, thus he sets the tone for the rest of the group. And because he has such a distinct voice (among the other members hehe), he adds a lot to what we call suju flavor. You'll always know it's a suju song because of him (and pretty much everyone else, but yeah haha) pretty much everyone in suju has their own solo albums (except siwon, shindong, leeteuk, and heechul, but heechul does a lot of collaborations with other artists, especially kyunghoon from knowing brothers.) I definitely recommend you check them out. I also strongly recommend you to see several of their concert performances. Teukienickie's UA-cam channel has pretty much everything. The majority of them include subtitles as well! :D
I agree with you. No matter what others say, Kyu is and will still remain the best in the whole kpop industry. But I'm still loyal to Yesung, no one touches my heart like Yesung and his voice.
Thanks for your reaction..I was struggling to chose a favourite vocal from SJ, The whole group is amazing and KRY are my top in K. pop... at the beginning I didn't pay attention to Yesung voice but when I listened to their B. side track and Live. performance and his Solos he is a deal breaker... his emotions and ad lips and sp. his rock songs were magical no one to compare to... I just adore him
I see you are struggling with kyu’s name😅 kyu sounds like the letter Q so it sounds like Q-hyeon The oldest in kry is Yesung, then ryeowook and lastly kyuhyun… but ryeowook is the “mom” here😂 and although Yesung is the eldest he really need to keep up with these maknaes on top😂 All of them are also musical actors. Ryeowook and kyuhyun are currently doing musical theater and they are great actors😍

Kyu and Ryewook have better techniques, but as I got older, I prefer Yesung’s tone/style. Needless to say I end up listening more to his songs and he’s still my bias ❤️

I'm surprised by the comments as most say Ryewook and Kyuhyun are better than Yesung. Cause Ryewook and Kyuhyun has always been pointing that Yesung is the best among them. Actually he was the vocal trainer for KR and some other members in their trainee and early years.He's still the one who records all the guides for all SuJu songs so members can sing comfortably. After his vocal nodules he had to suffer for a long time his voice may get stranded more easily compared to their early years but he never backs down and still does most of the difficult high notes and adlibs. During their last promotions as KRY he was complaining that KR always leaves difficult high notes and adlibs to him. He says he prefers stylish songs than ballads or rock ballads now and he doesn't like singing high notes any more but he always has to. Don't get me wrong though I'm in love with his high notes and adlibs.

But yeah Shadowless is not in any streaming platforms because it was a bonus special release for an album that's cd only (they released so many these past few years i'm so confused. I think it's from the Super Clap album)
Technically KYUHYUN is not only the best in super junior but arguably the best male vocalist in the whole kpop industry till this day (and only arguably cuz of the blury lines of the industry, but maybe idol vocalist it's easier or safer term) Ryeowook is very close to him indeed, but his lower register is not a developed, even if his head voice is better than kyuhyun's ..... of course saying the're both the best male singers in SM is obious, even Chen (who is 3rd) is behind them (just for comparison, since he is obviously regarded as one of the best, no hate intended) .... the gap between those 2 and yesung is actually big, specially since Yesung vocal technique has regresed in the las years, favoring more style than technique, bus he is still a fan favorite becase of his emotional singing.

The top 3 vocalist in KPop...Kyuhyun was technically the best/top pick by vocal coach and teachers in Kpop as per the listing made sometime ago.
