I've played a lot of Medic builds and here's some non-starcraft themed ideas for those who care. I usually run it against bots as bugs tend to be better dealt with through aggression rather than defense. Smoke Grenades- Great for bots, it allows you cover your escape, make your shield relay bunker extra safe, and doesn't hurt your teammates to throw on their location. Ballistic Shield- Yes the ballistic not the energy backpack. This allows you to tank shots from the back or use it with a one handed primary such as the crossbow or SMG's, but most importantly lets you shot teammates with the stim pistol a lot more safely. Your supply backpack essentially becomes a secondary resupply which allows a full team of 4 to split off into 2 groups while not fighting between resupplies. If you have good communication with a fellow diver you can essentially sustain them in front of horde, or rotate between one person crouching and one person standing for mobile cover. This paired with a heavy medic armor makes you more of a frontlining support. HALT Shotgun- The wide spread on the stun rounds help with devastators and medium armored bugs, and you most likely won't be firing tons of rounds anyways since that's the teammate you are supporting's responsibility so the ammo usage isn't a big problem. Commando- This expendable has a distinct advantage against the bots and that's due to the guided nature of the weapon. EATS and the Quasar are a good substitute (RR if you use the Supply Pack as a secondary Resupply), but gunships are one of the most difficult enemies to deal with the commando makes it super easy to take them down since you can direct the projectile after firing and it only needs one hit. Plus the Commando has a relatively short cooldown which makes it very shareable, has 4 shots so you can deal with multiple Hulks, Striders, Devastators, Tanks, Hiveguards, Stalkers, etc. All in all great video! I love to see people advocating for medic builds in this game.
@thestickybandits7320 also on the shield relay vs bugs thing. It isn't all that useful BUT it can stop chargers when they are, well, charging. And can reflect bile titans
Loved playing along side this build. Really feels like support stuff could be fleshed out even more. Playing themed builds makes the game feel so fresh!
I love how the Stim Pistol gets both the Med-Kit Armor Passive AND the Experimental Infusion Booster buffs if you have both. I run around in my CM-21 Trench Paramedic or eradicate with the CM-17 Butcher and it is so nice to be able to stim people from range and give them +2s more of enhanced speed and damage reduction alongside the healing.
I would probably go with: Booster: Experimental Infusion Armor: Any Med-Kit Armor Passive Primary: SG-20 Halt - It's stun ammo is incredible at locking down most enemies, and the med pen is not terrible either. I recommend binding both the "Open Weapon Wheel" and "Weapon Wheel Right Side" to the same "Press [insert button]" for quick change between the two ammo types. You are more of a Ghost/Medic hybrid with this. Secondary: P-11 Stim Pistol - Gets the effects of both your Experimental Infusion Booster and Med-Kit Armor Passive on anyone you shoot with this pistol. Grenade: Thermites (to deal with all the heavies and structures) Stratagems: 1. B-1 Supply Pack 2. MLS-4X Commando (to deal with a variety of threats and to close bug holes) 3. A/MG-43 Machine Gun Sentry 4. A/MLS-4X Rocket Sentry This can probably work against both Bots and Bugs with equal efficiency.
Following a heavy is called a "Pocket Medic" (at least in Planetside 2) or "Battle Buddy" (if you eat crayons). It is super effective in almost every game with guns. My personal favourite is 20 people healing one heavy so you can out res the dps. Funny as hell.
Make sure you drop the shield generator relay station last, ANY and i mean ANY Hellpod ( player, support weapons and resupply ) will damage and can break the shield bubble.
The medic armor also increases stim duration to your teammates, allowing you to fullheal them with one stim, if they're above ~15% health. Stims also stack, don't be afraid to shoot two or three. Consider taking the jump pack with you instead. It can get you out of trouble, take better positions, and close the gap with teammates who need your help. For bugs: Halt, the stun is amazing and it gives your heavy a lot of breathing room. If you take it, consider using a different grenade. Quasar Cannon, can deal with a bile titan without using a backpack and destroy nests For bots: Scorcher, automatic is good for hoard clear. Railgun, essentially a must pick for bots in general.
My friend runs her own Medic Build, using EATs, Commandos and an AR Guard Dog to protect herself and keep stuff like Gunships away. And as someone who has the stupid bravery to run a Ballistic Shield on difficulty 10 Automatons, it is such a fun time. She keeps us all going while our HMG guy takes out Devastators, our Recoilless guy takes out Hulks, and I deal with lighter bots and Scout Striders, while soaking up tons of lasers. And something too big comes your way? 500 kg. An objective too tough like Command Bunkers? Orbital Laser. A Fortress is ahead and you need to make it safer? Barrages. (I also think that the Stim Pistol should have close range aimbot on teammates like the one from Battlefield 2042 so you don’t miss as much)
Learn the concept of the Combat Pause. Once your assigned HMG, RR, or Spear heavy is done laying hate, take a second and stop. Usually after 3 bases are done. I stop the team for a brief break. Call in resupply, reload everyones guns and pick out the next few map items to hit.
Personally, I prefer a Jump Pack for myself to be able to get to people to stim faster, closer, and more reliably, as well as to grant myself a means to catch up to someone I'm actively speed-boosting with the stim pistol, besides using my own stims. I prefer instead to give out Commandos and EAT-17's (simultaneously) like they're going out of style, which they kind of are in the face of the recoilless rifle.
@@thestickybandits7320 Ok, so I tried this last night and man I was disappointed lol. The concept of the build is fantastic! But that Stim Pistol....Ugggghhhh, that was my first time trying it last night and that was very underwhelming. There are so many drawbacks to it. It's clunky to hit running targets like you mentioned, you can't destroy bug holes since you sacrifice the Grenade Pistol, you waste so much ammo when trying to inject your teammates while they are running around, and it is absolutely maddening trying to use while in the middle of an Acid Storm. Everything else you mentioned though? Very fun support build around teamplay! The EMS Mortar pairs awesome with the Arc Thrower to slow down incoming bugs from bug breaches or Large Nests (Raise The Flag missions are always a blast with that active). The Supply Pack kept my Stun Grenades topped off where I could start any battle I want against mobs with basically an opportunity attack since they are disoriented. I had a lot of unintentional team kills with the Machine Gun Sentry, so I swapped it for the Orbital Railcannon and used that to protect whichever player I would follow from Bile Titans. Thanks again for making this video, it definitely was a fun playstyle to try out, even more so with the Arc Blitzer instead of the Pummeler. I hope we can get a few more options for healing teammates instead of just the Stim Pistol in the near future. It would be perfect if we could get a weapon like the Laser Cannon that healed teammates instead of basically a Syringe Gun.
Some doesn’t know about stim pistols specifically new players story healed a beginner player thinking that was damaging them and got shot for it lol New player: why’d shoot me *proceed to use lethality execute ally* Veteran player: yes I shot you with a stim pistol that does 0 damage i was healing you not hurting you New: oh my bad g
as you said the speed boost really add something and ppl with heavy armor seems to really like the infinite stamina advantage my loadout is very similar to this exept i use knives instead of stun and 1 use rocket instead of zap gun, my main weapon is the slugger
Definitely an option! My other thought was to go with the plasma punisher but I felt like it was a good idea to be one handed for those situations when someone needs to be the mule.
Very similar to how I play, but to step away from the flavour of the build and go more practical, supply bkpk only on missions with defendable points, i prefer jet pk for mobility and clutch heals on teammates in thick of it, swap primary to crossbow, gives you explosive add clear and objective destruction, for stats, run gatling barrage for low cooldown and versatility, and EAT for heavys, gas grenades also provide great cc for the arc thrower to rip through, support is by far my fave playstyle and i hope to see more people adopting more team focused plays :P ua-cam.com/video/I6pYxZuAVKg/v-deo.html some clips of build in action XD Happy Hunting
lesson 1, protect the heavy
"Okay, umm, for my project I did some research, and I've actually come to the conclusion that the heavy is a terrible person to focus on."
Why I wear the Butcher Armor.

Ballistic shield is probably even more Starcraft themed too lol
@@jjhh320 If it didn't displace the supply backpack, I'd absolutely try it. Wish it worked against bugs!
TIL that the old Terran AA tower is just a dude strapped to rocket pods spinning forever.
Like a record baby!

“Nice healer”
“Thanks, it has pockets!”

Great reminder.
When you realize the shield strategem stops chargers from charging through. They cant go through while running
To be fair, the shield relay does a couple things on the bug front: blocking bile and stopping chargers...and that's about it (besides drawing aggro)
Theoretically it’s not useless. In practice, however…

Yes a fellow og star craft fan!!!! Let's goooooo!!! I thought I was the only one!!
Sometimes you need a break from Artosis.
You can also use the emp, gas orbital or emp mortar for even more stun and the precision strike to close bug holes and for bigger enemies
Personally, I prefer a Jump Pack for myself to be able to get to people to stim faster, closer, and more reliably, as well as to grant myself a means to catch up to someone I'm actively speed-boosting with the stim pistol, besides using my own stims. @thestickybandits7320 as to quote my favourite Command & Conquer character: "Indeed!"
Can't wait to try this! I might swap out Machine Gun Sentry for EMS Mortar on Bug Planets.
Good call!

A better booster would be "dead sprint" for heavy med with "vitality".
Would the concussion liberator work over the pummiler? Don't use either that much but they both seem better after recent updates

Halt is a bit better shotgun tbh can stun anything up to charger
Hello. I was wondering if you needed to do a revise on the Firebat since there are more weapons and Stratagems with fire. Have a good day
Definitely planning on a refresh of the the older builds when we do the full Terran team.
