i've read good omens to prepare for season 2

- Season 2 of Good Omens is coming and I've realized I've never read the book before, so I had to fix that immediately. Now that I've read the book twice in the spam of 3 weeks, it's safe to assume that I absolutely loved it.
This video took me like a week to make, with zero experience of video making so it may be really shitty, but I swear I learned how to make the next one better. For example, I'll try to plug in the microphone.
If you enjoyed the Good Omens book, I strongly recommend other Terry Pratchett books. They are funny, thought-provoking and insightful. I love re-reading all Terry Pratchett content.

@@zemantler They are very good. I've read them in Czech and the translation was very good. I haven't read Slovak translations so I don't know if the're any good. If your English is good enough (sounds like it) the original is almost always the best
I am really happy with how I experienced the S2 release. I knew for a while that S2 was coming, but during the time period where no date or other information was available, I kind of forgot about it (did not use Tumblr back then). Then, I saw that the new season was coming exactly one week before the release date, and it was perfect. I was excited and happy and watched season one to prepare. I did not have one day where I felt like the waiting was unbearable because it was just a few days. I really like your insights on the book. I read it a year and a half ago, also after watching the first season, but I could not really remember it because I was more focused on the show. Now that I am in search of more Good Omens content and am also highly invested in Neil Gaiman, I really enjoy your videos.
I'm really glad, tbh the waiting wasnt that unbearable for me either because new teasers and interviews were releasing on daily basis. Tho it must have been nice not having to wait for multiple months :D
You've actually motivated me to read the book. I've been avoiding it for years. I've always wanted to read the original but English isn't my first language so I felt too intimidated to even start. Hearing you read some excerpts made me realize I'm capable of understanding the text, some words are unfamiliar to me but that's alright.

im sorry but how is it possible that most of the good omens fandom was or is now(totally not me) in the sherlock fandom
At it's core, they're really similar- two male protagonists, lgbt implication (would say representation but uh, sherlock), two of them against the world, etc. They have everything a show needs to be popular on tumblr, just like supernatural, our flag means death, wwdits, etc... :]

I'm trying to somehow cope with the season 2 finale and I just started to read the book too so it's pretty cool to see someone doing the same (also I'm kinda shocked couse I barely know any cz/sk good omens fans and you are literally so cool)

I love this heart to heart talk types of videos! I feel like im listening to a friend tell me about their fav book. I love picking out lines in the book that appears in the series again. Also if you are not too keen on reading there is now a full cast audiobook on audible which u can listen too!

This was such a delight to watch!! As someone who also fell in love with the show when season 1 first came out and then read the book after that, I had many of the same experiences and it was so fun to see someone else talk about that!! I don’t know anyone else in real life who’s seen good omens so I really love connecting with people online about it haha. I love when you said “What do you mean most of my favorite scenes aren’t here” when you read the book because ME TOO I knew it was going to be different but it’s just so insane to me how different the book and tv show were structured because they have totally different purposes and the fact that the tv show was SPECIFICALLY re written from the book to make it an ineffable husbands love story STILL drives me insane. Anathema really did think Zira and Crowley were “Gay as shit” in the book and there’s just so many little things that are lost in the tv show that people wouldn’t know about unless they read it! I thought your editing was great! Imo it’s funnier and more entertaining if things aren’t like 100% “polished” or “professional” or whatever your videos are super hilarious and I love the conversational tone, I really felt like you were giving us your honest thoughts and opinions and this was really entertaining to watch. (Also loved how you left in the fun bits like your leg falling asleep and the fly [beelzebub’s fly, perhaps ??] really gave this a genuine personal vibe) Thanks for all your work making this video and I hope you find lots of joy in whatever you edit next!!

Even tho I felt really sad when my favorite parts from the show weren't in the book, I absolutely fell in love with this version nonetheless, so it's great to hear you share the experience. Now that season 2 is out, you can REALLY see how different they are from eachother. For example, series Aziraphale could NEVER make the "heaven is full of propaganda" monologue that book Aziraphale had when possesing the TV preacher. It was really fun talking about all the differences and i'm really glad you enjoyed listening to them!! (also the fly in my video feeling almost like a foreshadowing for season 2 is really funny and i love that you noticed that) Take care!
@@zemantler yes! The book and tv show are separate works and separate universes so it’s really fun to find different enjoyment in each of them. Also it was fun to see which parts of the book made it into season 2 and not season 1! Like the part where aziraphale and Crowley discuss how it’s ineffable that poverty gives you even more opportunities to be good, it was so cool seeing them incorporate some of those missed things in the new season. Loved the fly cameo, thanks again for this video! XD

Not a omens fan never watched never read and I don’t ever plan on doing so. Doesn’t seem like my thing (I’m more of a 80s anime and manga person). But I like ur video! I enjoy hearing u talk abt something u love very much.
