Starting from the beginning, I really enjoyed Kaori's delicate "u" vowel in the phrase "Moulin Rouge". It has a resonance that is enhanced by the reverb on the mix. I had to restart just to hear it again. Smooth. Nice run at 2:39. Some of those pop stylings showing up. I am somewhat comparing Kaori going to a breathy tone at 4:23 on the D#5 to MIKI (who undoubtedly was covering this original as AnotherLaurant directed me) as I know Kaori can belt that note. But I guess she was shaping this song herself for the first time with no reference so these were her choices. MIKI had the reference so could choose how to differentiate her version with specific choices. It's all good! I do still prefer the MIKI-REMI-(I can't recall her name) combination. I think MIKI sealed that for me. 🙏🏾
2:22 playing with the tempo of her vocal and also at 2:40 the run differentiating this from the later performances (both her and Miki’s). I think she was being playful and a little experimental with expression in this particular live.
Really? :) As for my own opinion, I adore REMI way too much, so I think she is better. Although I also love Mari Endou a lot and miss her in the newer albums! But yes, opinions differ and it's quite rare to see someone saying that he's liking Mari more, so it's really nice to see your comment :D
This is one of those performances that just radiates energy and shows how much fun that the performers are having, so it's a bit of a shame that the audio is... not that well mixed
😃 I really love Mari Endou's tone and her compressed / ultra-resonant vocal effects but I realize there are subtle differences that make them more suitable for different parts, and color their versions of the same songs uniquely for different tastes.
i like Remi, but if you learn the song's meaning, you'll understand why Kaori is the main vocalist of this song. i like this trio the most among all other Revo's singers, and i personally label Kaori as 'force' (or maybe 'tomboy-ish'...), Yuuki as 'beauty' (or 'girlish'), and Remi as 'elegance'. Remi fits amazingly in songs that require elegance, and this song isn't one of them.
The song is more of a pop-style song and REMI is not a pop singer. The accents she makes with the classical high notes can only be done effectively by her (since Kaori and Yuuki are not classically trained). So it all works together. The expression that Kaori gives with the little runs and belts and breathy tone is all pop territory, and she's stronger at that than even Yuuki. The songs are appropriately tailored to different types of singers.
2024 and still loving it :') KAORI ❤️

MIKI-REMI-Haruka Shimotsuki trio.
@@TheSeeking2know I prefer this version personally but MIKI-REMI-Haruka Shimotsuki killed it too. I just love Sound Horizon live performances.
@@battt.666 I was just watching one of their concerts earlier today.
