I don't actually find it all too hard when playing it with a keyboard (although I did find it pretty difficult as a kid), but I can imagine it being very tough to play using a dance mat!

A question, if you still have this game, could you post a vid of all of the failures? I only ever lost once, to King Lpuie. (If you miss one of the powerups, the rest appear while Louie is dancing, making it HARD not to fall!)
