Rheumatoid Arthritis is a Chronic Autoimmune Disease Condition in Which Immunity Attacks Body Joints which Results in Inflammation in Joints Tissue.
It mainly affects smaller joints like wrist & hand joints.
it also affects other parts of body like lungs , skin , brain , blood vessels etc.
it may occurs in middle age people of 30-60 years of age.
Risk Factors -
- Genetic Factors - Defect in Human Leucocyte Antigen Gene ( HLA DRM 1 & HLA DRM 2)
- Environmental Factors - Smoking & Pathogens.
Sign & Symptoms -
- Mainly Smaller joints affected in RA like PIP , MCP , MTP Joints.
- Large joints also affected like shoulder, knees , elbows etc.
- Other Symptoms -
- Fever
- Fatigue
- Weight Loss
- Scleritis
- Skin Nodules
- Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
- Carditis
- Sjogrens Syndrome

- Blood Test like Rheumatoid Factor Test & Anti Citrullinated Peptide Antibody Test

- NSAID's like Ibuprofen & Naloxone
- Steroids like Prednisone
- Disease Modifying Anti rheumatic Drugs ( DMARD's) like Methotrexate
- Biological DMARD's like inlfiximab , golimumab
- New Treatment Modalities -
- Janus Kinase Inhibitors like Udatinib with Methotrexate
Surgery -
- Synovectomy
- Total Joint Replacement
