Hey fellow beetle lovers, I am looking for some advice here. I drive a 2000 1.8t beetle and I was thinking of doing something with the exhaust. This is my first manual car and though the gearbox and tranny are smooth as butter, I find it annoying how quiet the exhaust is. I cant hear the engine below 3000 rpm so i find myself constantly looking at the rev gauge to see when I have to change down. I plan on either doing a muffler delete or replacement (most likely Magnaflow as I love their sound and affordability). However, I dont want to be too loud as to piss off my college campus nor the fuzz as Maine law is obnoxious ( car must be under 95db). Would a delete be too much for what I am looking for? Other cheap ways to improve the sound? I super appreciate any response
What is it in the exhaust system that makes that mean grumble when you let off the gas? It's that which makes a V8 engine sounds absolutely beasty and I wanna know what it is, perhaps stick that on my car >:)
omfg its herbie not kirby! im sorry but i get extremely pissed when people call him kirby or furby. i dont mind mispelling but being an owner of a herbie it gets aggravating
