Gary, you are too kind.. i have to admit that im kinda driven by a lack of tolerance of doing things twice... so it's always the better option to take the time to do it right first time if i can..!!
Moonfleet41 yes indeed! My dad was an engineer (was a pioneer of television) and tried to teach me the ways of measuring twice (thrice even!) and cutting once. His outputs were incredibly perfect like yours. Mine not so much. 😮
A trick to make the chrome paint pop is to paint it in high glass black first. The surface needs to be a 800 or better wet sanded surface with black paint. The shinier the black the shinier the chrome.

Thank Keith, it is indeed all in the prep work.. a good result is reward for taking the time at the beginning.. Great to hear from you buddy, have a good weekend. . Del.
Nice work Del. It's all in the preparation if you want a good job as my dad used to say. It's all coming together nicely mate. Penny and you have a great and safe weekend. Cheers

Hi Ian.. the truth of it is that my determination to get the prep right, and take the time with it is borne out of a lack of patience... i can't stand doing things twice.. so no matter how long it takes to get it right first time, its better than doing it again...if that makes sense..
Why mask off the fixing tabs to the seat hump as they will be hidden? As plain aluminium they will be liable to corrode and having fluffy white oxides peering around the edge of the finely finished undertray won't look as good as it could.
Looking good. Paint is all about patience and preparation which I guess is why when I do any it doesn't look as good as yours! 😆. Looking forward to another lathe video too
ha ha, thanks buddy, in some ways it is my lack of patience that makes me do it right first time, no matter how long it takes.. because i don't have the patience to do things twice..lol!

Great work mate , for a real mirror chrome it is best spraying over high gloss black first or there is a paint called Aclad whit you paint over gloss black and then buff one dry and you can see your face in it
Looking good Del, great prep as usual, nice sunny day here in Essex, off out on the Triumph T100. Enjoy your weekend and bring on the next video matey. 👍
Getting close now.... That chrome paint might Polish up with a soft cloth to make it more like chrome...but only when it's cured properly...do yourself a test piece and try it....I had some chrome paint a few years ago and when it was cured I was able to Polish it so it was shinier? ? Not sure if it's the same paint but give it a try....you never know..!!
